Put the Genie, Genie+ back in the bottle.
Totally agree with the comments. No more pre reservations for this park, this ride,…Get to the park.in the morning, rope drop, and everyone gets a fair chance at attractions, dining, etc…

    No more fast passes either.

Dining too, no more booking 180 days+out for reservations. As one commenter said walk up and dine. Or guests would only be allowed to make reservations once checked into their resort and only reservations within the time of their stay.

Get rid of this nutty park reserve system. Is this how the world is going???.. Soon we will have to make a reservation for a day shopping at Target or Walmart????

If pre booking reservations is the trend, isnt that a resort conciege is for? Let the resort do all that for the guest and or guest services in the parks on day of the visit.

Yes bring back Magical Express. It was a great perk for guests and or the Minnie vans, but expand that to character vans decorated as Mickey, Donald, Goofy, etc….

    1. I 100% agree. NO MORE RESERVATIONS OF ANY KIND. Let people decide which park(s) they want to go to that day and decided also where they want to eat. I am so tired of all the reservations. Also, bring back the transportation to/from the airport. We are spending enough money at the parks and hotels as it is. The least you could do is provide the transportation.

You hit it on the nose!! Thank you. I’m not savvy to all this “do before you go” crap. Keep it simple. I’ve been going since the 1990’s. Coming all the way from Wisconsin. Not worth the headaches anymore. And bring back the old annual pass again, without all the stipulations.

      1. Ron

        Agreed,
A park goer since 1973. Last Disney visit in 2019 before all the draconian crap. Prior to that in 2013 and what a difference 6 years made.
That’s it, we’re done. No more inviting friends to stay on property and spend days, sometimes weeks at Dworld.
From New York and won’t go back till big positive changes occur.
Forget bringing the kids and grand kids. Disney’s bottom line isn’t even reflected in their stock price. A 60 plus time goer to disney through the years and stockholder as well.
Used get perks for being a stockholder and my Disney Visa card has Cobb webs.
Look out Disney. Universal is coming.

I’ve been going to Disney world since the day it opened in 1971. I’ve always loved the atmosphere there. We could run in for a couple hours or spend the day. Unfortunately that experience has gone. Having to get reservations just to go into a park is a headache. Where we use to go in a couple times a month I’m not only going in a couple times a year. It’s just not worth the headache to try to make reservations. Were a very spontaneous family and it really ends that vibe.

  2. Lisa

I also agree with all those comments.
Disney if you can see this: PLEASE!!!!!!!!! have no more park reservations, or Genie plus (fast pass was way better, would even pay for it), and bring back Magic Express buses

  3. Chuck

Disney has lost its way to promote family fun in stead they would rather dip into politics.5years ago the happiest place on earth but no more.the average family can not afford this place anymore. And that is such a crime.

    1. Vince Malto

Are these comments coming from the Mafia of De Santis? Disney has been in existence for decade and it’s only now that you made some comments because there is lawsuit vs De Santis? If you need passes why don’t you go to customer sevice and apply for one. They are very accommodating. Just try and you will be happy.

      1. Jane

Read the comments from experienced Disney goers.. we have been in Disney every year for the past 8 years…. Last year was changed and absolutely not the same place.. it was stressful and not fun. The employees were salty & short tempered. It used to be magical & fun . Needless to say we opted for a beach vacation this year and it
        was amazing!

I had a annual pass but did not renew. I loved it when I could wake up in the morning and decide its a disney day. Now with park reservations, ride reservations and dining reservations its not somthing you can do. Its just business and I understand that but they were in the magic business and now its just business.

    1. Chris Wood

It is magic. You money magicly disappears like that

      1. Gord Ritchie

I’ve been to Disney 4 times as a child and adult 3 times with my children. Each time I visited the Magic Kingdom things that were free disappeared and more things cost money. I remembered when cast characters used to walk around and anyone could get pictures. Then it became only certain points in the park to get pictures then the third time you had to book appointment times to get a picture with a cast member. We could at one time go park to park with no problems and yes either waited in line for a ride or for food and if we didn’t want to eat then we went to another. Disney castle was a first reservation on that day you couldn’t book dinner before so if you wanted to eat in the castle you got there when it opened and hustled to the castle to book your dinner. That is what made it a great place to go free pictures and waiting or not waiting. Much simpler than all of this reservation crap as it puts a lot of pressure on someone to book and figure what they can make on time or lose out.

    2. Mb

      Yes.
Ive been going since it opened in Florida. Had my strategy to get on the coveted rides. Now its all so complicated. Really takes the fun out
Like filling out a tax return. Trying to get on a ride now is like applying for Harvard. Hey. I’m paying a lot of money for this experience so stop treating me so bad or I just won’t show up.

  5. Barbie Marquez

All that’s needed to solve the drama in florida is to stop insisting on the g.a.y. pride festivals and memorabilia forcefully throw in children’s faces in a public place. Everyone needs to keep their sexuality to themselves point blank. People ruined one of my favorite iconic natural Beauties selfishly a rainbow. Where’s the lawsuit. I want my rainbows purity back with no sexual definition. Let’s keep it about a hope of riches at one end not some brainwashing sexuality imposed on humanity!

    1. Chris Wood

So far everything I’ve read has nothing to do with inequality. More just a matter of convenience and how to make the trip more pleasant. The fast pass is more convenient as is the meal plan. But they are hardly inequality.

    2. Rick TRY

Rainbows are for little girls to draw at school.

    3. Michael King

Barbie- just a point of education. Whether you realize or not, you daily freely express your sexuality publicly through attire, interactions, etc. No one asks you to edit
Yourself. Millions of symbols ate used around the world to signify many things. ☮️✝️🚺 etc. There is no need to object. BTW. A 🌈 rainbow on a gay pride shirt NEVER hurt anyone.
Let’s focus on promoting and teach every (especially our children to love others- those who are like them and those who are not!
      LET’S LOVE MORE! ❤️

    4. Michele

Your bigotry is showing. Nobody is “forcing” anything on children. Pride events at Disney have been occuring for decades. If you don’t want to participate, choose another day to go. The rainbow isn’t your personal property.

    5. WHY DONT YOU SHUT YOUR PIE HOLE AND STICK TO THE SUBJECT!!

  6. James

In September I once had 142 hours of Disney World Parks. Today maybe 118 hours at the most. Please bring back one extra morning hour for hotel guest.

  7. I agree with all the comments. I love WDW and have been several dozen times over the years, but my vacation in March this year was a waste of time and money. Have had an annual pass, which was great. Other than hotel and dining reservations, everything else was a breeze. Now, you have to make a reservation to which park you will visit long before you go. And, NO more park hopping. Not having ride reservations meant I went on the steamboat and that was it. 4 parks in 4 days and I couldn’t do any other rides. Also, do away with Genie and plus. You’re already paying a lot just to get in the gate, then you have to pay for a service that was free. (FastPass, please). But, not anymore. I love Disney, but not the greed. The bottom line is that the magic of Disney is dead. And, that is very sad.

  8. Linda

I also agree and have made other vacation plans in the last two years due to all the stress and hassle and expense of Disney. The Magic, for me, is gone

  9. Mark Booth

The most magical place on Earth has been destroyed by greed. Myself and my family have had it taken away from us in the space of just a few years. We absolutely love Disney but our hard earned money goes so much further on different holidays now. Lower the prices, bring back fastpasses and reinstate the much loved perks we used to enjoy so much. Only then will we consider travelling from the UK to WDW again. And for Gods sake . . . . keep out of politics !!

  10. Rob

Park reservations should end immediately. Park hopper use to be included in your Disney resort package. Now you pay extra for park hopper and you can’t hop till 2. Magical express meant your magical Disney experience started when your plane touched down. So much of the magic is gone sadly.

  11. Sue

I agree with everyone, my family of four went this year, spent nearly 10k, weren’t even in a high end resort. Every time you turn around it’s more money you have to spend.

  12. Michael cozzolino

Screw Disney. I’ve been going since I was 5 years old in 1971. Probably been to Disney and Epcot around 35 times each. They have received the last of my money as of 2021 when I had to practically beg to get in because of Covid. I still go for 3 weeks every November to play golf. However Disney now gets 0.00 of my money. Go Ron Desantis.

    1. Buncha Communists

All these grown adults crying about not want to spend money at a business that exists to…you got it, make money! Sounds like a bunch of communists begging to make it free again. You sound broke. Hilarious to me, don’t vote with your dollars, there are obviously tons of other people willing to replace you there and spend the money. Go cry about it somewhere else lol

      1. Michele

You obviously don’t remember when the parks were filled with people who didn’t need reservations to go. When the powers tgat be deem that only a certain number of people can attend on any given day, prices rise to offset the absence of the usual size crowds. Limiting the number of guests that spend money isca poor business plan.

  13. I think there should be some restrictions or some people would take advantage of no rules. As long as there are rules someone will not be happy with it and complain. All of these issues are still first come first serve you just didn’t get in so now blog your opinion where others may agree. I don’t get into many places either but I know there are space limitations on how many can occupy at one time.
Remember they serve hundreds of thousands of Happy and not so Happy Mouseketeers.

  14. Mike

People complained that Disney is too crowded, and they allowed that many in just to make more money.
    So there are 2 options.
    1. Raise ticket prices
    2. Set a quota.
A quota can be handled in 2 ways.
    A. Reservation required
    B. Turn people away at the gate once the quota is filled
Disney could make far more money if they either just raised ticket prices, but people complain it is already too expensive. If get stopped letting people in when they hit their limit, and you had traveled all the way to Florida, only to be turned away, you would be pretty pissed.
Or maybe, Disney should lower its pics to $50/day, let as many people who want to enter, go to the park, and you’d have double the number of people in the park, (leading line length to double)

  15. Steve A

So not complaining about the opportunity to “pay to play” to get better options or even plan in advance…however, when I pay $150 to get into the park and someone else who is staying on property pays $150 too….I should have the exact same chance to book a popular ride!!! Paid or not! But it’s is not an available option so it’s BS…period.

  16. Being a middle class florida resident , we have been priced out of the magic Kingdom . Universal is a little bit more reasonable . But there are nice resorts in Orlando that you can have a nice time as well and not mortgage the house .

  17. Mega

The dinning reservations make sense because of the more popular restaurants. But no more ffs but instead paying for genie+ is bad and getting rid of magical express was a bad idea.

    1. Gail

As a person that stays off Disney property you are penalized. Yet we pay the same ticket price. Why should I have to but my ticket 60 or 30 days ahead of time to get reservations. On top of it all now the cost of Genie and individual Lightning Lanes! A magical day is now complicated and very expensive.

    2. JB

First of all, a disclaimer, we are vacation club members and we travel to Disney every year or every other year. I’ve been to Disney World about 40 times. It is my favorite place on 🌎! With that being said, the genie system has changed Disney- and not for the better! It causes more stress for everyone and 100% detracts from the experience. We went to Disney about 6 weeks ago. We bought all the lightning lanes, line dropped, and had all our genie passes figured out in advance. Bc of the way things are we went back and forth, racing around the parks, zig zapping and stressing out. Always worried about ‘the next reservation or where to next…never enjoying and being in the ‘Disney’ moment. It totally changed the experience and we left feeling unfulfilled. I’m no longer excited about our next visit. I’ve never said that before. This is my solution: bring back fast passes…3 per purchased ticket. Any ride to be booked. Yes, that means those that plan in advance get a benefit. It does not create a hierarchy for those with more money. It would also allow you to plan the way you want. If you love to eat at Garden Grill at Epcot (which we do!) then we can book Soarin at noon! (Instead of being way over by frozen when the 4 kids are starving and eating whatever we could find!) If you like to go counterclockwise through magic kingdom (which we do) then we could book our fast passes accordingly! Then we wouldn’t be at the mercy of some scheduling device that causes us to skip around and stress! …I don’t think there is anything wrong with genie + also being available. But give people 3 reservations to start their day. 3 times they don’t wait in line and get to do Disney THEIR way!

  18. Sonia

I whole heartedly agree that Day Hoppers should return. I have many used days on mine, which I understand DO NOT, NEVER EXPIRE….to many restrictions kill the memorable experience, especially with the pricing, increase in the prices.
I also agree…OPEN THE GATES as usual, let people in not hold up people, stop them, without a reservation to get into the parks…that is insane to do that.
Walt would be rolling, haunting those who make these decisions.
Return Disney World to its enjoyable Place!!!

  19. Mark Rothman

Long time park hopper and planner as well as spontaneous park goer. That was pre-pandemic and pre-Chapek. Yes, pre-planning fast passes could be a PITA, but even if we wanted to just show up a day early, or stay an extra day, we could always find something to do to have a great day. Dining reservations were decent even if I couldn’t have all of the ones we wanted, it wasn’t impossible to find something that was a good alternative. All of that is now impossible. Won’t be going back again unless there are major changes. It used to be something like $10k of our annual budget just for Disney. That number would barely get us a decent 5 days there now for a family of 4.
