Several friends and I used to drop LSD in the park decades ago. This was back when Indy was new. People have been doing this since before that. Everyone who has gone to the parks has seen people under the influence weather you knew it or not. We would even smoke joints in the park back in the days before smoking sections followed by bans made it difficult if not impossible to hide doing. This was long before legalization in the state. It’s nothing new and most of us never caused any problems for other guests. Social media is just bringing attention to it now.

Substance use may explain some of the behavior I’ve seen from people. Like in standby lines where the chain ropes or railings offer a narrow space. And yet sometimes there’s someone who can’t physically stay still. They do a sort of side-to-side wobble or teetering, while rotating left and right. And stepping out of their space, taking up a larger radius of space than most people. All while flinging their arms and hands around while talking, getting into the personal space of people around them. While seeming unaware, with their spatial awareness at almost zero level. That’s why if I have to exit a line because of that, I have to do it soon so I don’t lose much time in starting over. Rather than hesitate for 20 minutes, then exiting.
