I’ve seen the the lines for the security checkpoint, with the walk-thru metal detectors, crowded a few times. But I usually arrive midday or evening.

There is something I do to help security get me through quicker though, regardless of how crowded it is. I have my pocket items in a large ziploc bag ahead of time. And just set it on the table for the security officer to check. Often they take a quick look, see that it’s only a phone, wallet and key and barely anything else. Then I’m let through.

Obviously I get through quick because I usually don’t have a backpack. But if you’re arriving the same way, this will help. Just bring a ziploc bag. It also makes it so you hold everything as a single unit, that being the ziploc bag. Instead of trying to hold multiple items in two hands from the first check table, to the metal detector table. Just be sure the items don’t fall out of the ziploc bag by holding it from the top(bag should be open for first security person to sift through, if needed, then there’s barely a moment to seal it before the metal detector).

Every little bit helps. Just like boarding Space Mountain before closing. It helps the cast members to board and dismount quickly, without much delay.
