Neither, I would rather have it the way it was years ago, no using the phone to ck on something. Just wander around if you like to do a ride just wait your turn it would take awhile but it was better that way!

      Exactly!!

    2. Barbie Stroess

Exactly. I didn’t come to WDW to be on my phone! I knew there’d be lines. It’s all what you make of it.

Leave it as it is – it was working fine. If people choose to wait and not purchase the Disney app then that’s on them. Nothing is ever cheap at Walt Disney. Purchase the daily Disney genie and make your trip easier and enjoy riding all the rides. We had 4 people just last week, purchased Disney genie daily / purchased tickets for some rides, lightening lanes for others, virtual que for Tron and even stood in Line and waited as we watched the times for the rides. Had a great time at all the parks and rode all we wanted to, plus some!!

I would much rather stand in line than do the virtual queue. That is a huge source of stress on my vacation. And to go all the way there and not even have a chance to ride!

I think when you could get the free fast pass was plenty of advantage for people, everyone was able to get to them. I know some people don’t mind paying extra for the Genie + and bash people that can’t afford the extra charges. With the prices being charged just for admission, then tack on prices for admission to the individual rides, give me a break. I personally have no preference either way because I like to people watch and enjoy the atmosphere, I have already been on all the rides many times, as I’m a passholder and have been well over a decade.

I don’t use genie+ not because I can’t afford it, but because I refuse to pay for something I I used to get for free! I’ll pretty much give Disney money for anything, EXCEPT what they once gave me for free.

I would strongly prefer to go back to Fastpasses. If this is not an option then I’d like to stick with the virtual queue.

Keep the virtual queues. In fact would like to see it brought in for Flight of Passage. Waiting in line for 3 hours for 1 ride isn’t how I want to spend a day at Disney. The virtual queues are great and have never had an issue getting into them. Have ridden Guardians multiple times and Tron the week after it opened with no issues with the 1pm queue.

Modify the VQs by opening the first 3 park hours at 0700 then the 4th hour at park opening then the next hour every hour thereafter. It doesn’t have to be all day with the first queue opening, that’s just bad planning on their part.

While in theory I don’t have an issue with a virtual queue when utilized properly, in practice we still waited over 2.5 hours to ride Cosmic Rewind once my boarding group was called. So without being allowed to choose a time, the time isnt set in stone and constantly changing throughout the day, and waiting also still monopolizes such a large chunk of your day you can’t really plan any other rides around it.

They had the same problem with Rise of the Resistance. You get your virtual time slot and then you’re still waiting 2+ hours in line. Don’t call the boarding groups so fast then. I don’t understand how Disney used to manage lines well years ago and now can’t manage a virtual line system.

Remove virtual queues and Genie+, leave Lightning lanes in place.and rename thrm for guest recovery, alternate entrance, etc.

Guess what that 2+ hour line will now be about 30 to 45 minutes.

Disney does not want to end it because it gives them more money, PERIOD! I will never pay for it on the priciple that Fastpasses worked just fine and there was no need to change it.

The problem with the VQ is you may not get in at all. In our last 2 visits, we have been ready at 7:00AM and even with two people using the App. have not been able to get into the Queue. To add stress and anxiety, since you need to have a park “reservation”, if you can not get into the Queue at the 7:00AM time, then you are S… outta luck until you have another reservation for Epcot.
Charging guests to ride a ride (Lightning Lane) is extortion plain and simple. Pay the Mouse, or don’t ride. Any Disney wonders why it’s image is crap (and no, their Woke agenda has make everything worse).
I do not understand why Disney does not just bring back the “Fast Pass” system. It worked, and people were used to it, and learned how to use the system to optimize their visit.

I’ve been over 40 times this year to Disney alone, each time have gotten the virtual que for not only guardians but for tron as well. It’s not difficult you just have to refresh sr 659 and be in before it hits 7am everyone I have shown has gotten as well. Once you know how to actually do it correctly it’s easy. Never missed a que and I get on the phone 5 minutes before 7 every time.

No idea how people deal with virtual queues in Walt Disney World but at Disneyland Paris they caused nothing but trouble and misery, both for the guests and the castmembers. Where people were waiting in line, excited to meet a character like Captain America or Olaf there are now angry mobs of people harrassing castmembers because the virtual queue filled up for the entire morning or afternoon within minutes.
Some “guests” even took out their frustraties ar castmembers the physical way, which is, of course, not done. But despite all the complaints from both guests and castmembers alike Disneyland Paris refuses to drop the virtual queues and, in fact, are adding more and more experiences to them. And considering the internet connectivity at Disneyland Paris …

  12. I ve used both ways where it was fast passes and now genie +. I used the VQ for the first time for TRON. Yes I don’t like fact of having to pay for something that was once free. But I don’t wanna waste my day in line for 3 hours for 1 ride either. So if I gotta pay to get the most out my day im ok with it. But having to pay extra for like for extra lighting lane for Rise of Resistance (great ride btw) I think is a lil much. But that was the only way my husband and I were able to get on it. We got lucky as well with VQ with being first time using it for Tron. I would take my chance with it and have them send a notification when it’s my boarding time then stand in line for 3 hours. Yeah your waiting for boarding group to be called but you don’t have to stand in the line you can go enjoy other things

Needs to stay as is if that’s only option. Standing outside for 2 hrs will suck in that heat and be tacky and crowded over there. We don’t want it looking like six flags lol

  14. Nick

On our recent trip we managed to get in the VQ and ride Guardians but failed after several attempts to ride Tron, not because we couldn’t get in the VQ at 1pm, but then the slot only opened up around 8pm and our stamina dictated we had left by then. 7am VQ was no use as we couldn’t join until on Disney Guest Wi-Fi AND in the park!! WTF??

Leave the virtual queue or bring back fast pass. Who wants to wait in line for hours when you could be doing something else.
