We were on a family vacation in 2015 on the Safari ride and about a third of the way in my granddaughter starting having a extremely severe nose bleed. It was so bad she had huge clots coming out and everyone on the ride was trying to help us. In the process we yelled we have a medical emergency and we had EMTs meet us getting off the ride. They were amazing. They gave my granddaughter a shirt because blood was covered in hers and my husband had taken his shirt off for her to use to catch the blood and they gave him one also. Plus they have all the kids fast passes for rides and ice cream.

We didn’t have as good a result with our emergency, we were in one of the hotels and my 80 yr old mom got very sick. It was probably around midnight. She had been ‘off’, and had trouble walking back to the room, she was weak and disoriented. I woke up to her being sick (in the bathroom) I called the med line and spoke to a Dr. He decided it could wait. About 1/2 hour later I called again, he was rude and told me if I thought it was that bad I should just call 911. Which I did. She was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia and a high fever. She was there for several days, and since I was with her it ended our vacation. She wanted ‘the full experience’ since I had been several times and loved it.
When released we needed to extend our stay so she could rest for a couple of days before getting on the plane. We got kicked out of our nice quiet room, they had someone in who specifically requested that room. After arguing, cajoling and begging, the manager offered to send someone to help me pack up. I told him we needed a quiet room, so he gave up pool side with refurbishment going on across the pool. They also ended our dining plan, despite having a lot of meals on it, and extending our stay. At least the counter service people in the hotel were great. They tried to advocate for me, and when that didn’t work they simply didn’t charge me.
This was several years ago. It happened at the deluxe hotel my husband and I stayed at several times, a favorite.
We haven’t been back since, and probably won’t be. It’s lost the magic for me.
