Depends on what your favorite food is! Steak?? Le Cellier at Canada…Biergarten is hearty food and great entertainment. San Angel Inn in Mexico is great atmosphere.
@Courtney_Raptive one thing to note with that resort is balloons have to be checked into bell services. They are not permitted in rooms because they can end up in the savannas. You also cannot keep anything on your balcony for the animals’ safety too.
I haven’t been to the water parks in over 10 years, but I do recall getting a sand pail ice cream sunday at Blizzard Beach that was so good but too big to finish!
@TracyA2016 Love a lazy river! I’m staying at a resort for the first time this summer, so I’m debating going to one of the water parks as well during an “off” day.
Typhoon has a really fun water coaster and any lazy river is a fantastic lazy river. The Blizzard Beach one can have some cold splashes along the route. Both are great water parks, but I am partial to Typhoon.
@Courtney_Raptive don’t skip out on Gruder Point the bar and grill behind the oil! It’s one of our favorite spots! Good menu, good view and atmosphere!! Go at night and you get a great view of the electrical water pageant during your meal!
If you are coming to Central Florida and you have the time I recommend not limiting yourself to Disney. Sea World and Universal have amazing roller coasters.
@Courtney_Raptive I love BBQ, but I also love fried chicken. I hear Homecomin’ has amazing fried chicken. Maybe I will just have to do both! Since I used to live in Orlando, I kinda wanna hit some of my old faves off property too like Toojay’s Deli.
I’m also planning to rope drop for the first time with early resort access. Does anyone have tips for how early to get there…or how fast you need to book to your first ride?
@Courtney_RaptiveOne last Rope Drop tip - Typhoon Lagoon - enter the park and go the right - there are bathrooms right outside of Crush n’ Gusher. If you go behind the Men’s (it will look like you are walking into the men’s locker room but you go past it) there is a “secret” path that leads to a rope drop staging point directly across from Crush n’ Gusher. There are tons of Umbrellas in this area and a QS spot too. Hardly anyone knows about this tip - it will put you minutes ahead of anyone going the “normal” path around the front to get to this same area. Usually only 4-5 people are standing there - you will get a prime spot.
I definitely want to do Epcot and maybe Animal Kingdom, and Magic Kingdom if I’m not exhausted. I’ll be staying from Animal Kingdom Lodge with is a bit further from the other two parks.
@Courtney_Raptive at AK - if you head to Asia for rope drop - staging area - you can hit Expedition Everest several times as a walk on - we hit it 4 times before the crowd made it back there.
@TracyA2016 Yes, really depends on which park. They will stage you - depending on which park you are at. You will move as a “rope drop” group to your destination.
@Courtney_Raptive You might want to take the Skyliner for Epcot - that way you can access the International Gateway - come in near the UK. It’s like a fastpass entrance and gets you to Frozen and Ratatouille very quickly.
Done the tour as a guest and been in the tunnels many times working. It’s neat for the behind the scenes look, but the magic takes a hit. Also the tunnels can be stinky and drippy.
My favorite was the behind the scenes train tour with my dad since he loved trains and felt very Walt ish.
We enjoyed the tour and the food at Columbia Harbor was good. Loved getting our key pin souvenir as well. I would recommend it is you do want to know more of the history behind the parks. I learned a few things i did not know. Thankfully the utilidoors were not drippy or stinky as @AlisonK said they could be.
I haven’t done this yours in years but I’ve been on it several times! I remember it being a wonderful tour especially if you are into learning more about the behind the scenes of Disney and the history of the parks. The only downfall I remember was lunch was at Harbour House and it’s not always the best quality food.
@TracyA2016 I did castle show summer of 2012, caused chaos in Tomorrowland in 2008 and 2011, and did Family Fun Day down Main Street 2007-2008. There other times too, but statused to a different park.
Speaking of foods…one of our other new “must-do’s” for food is Tiana’s Hot Honey Chicken from the Outpost at Magic Kingdom! One of the best things to get quick service wise at Magic Kingdom right now! It’s not super spicy but has a little kick and great flavors! Also one bowl is big enough to split between two people and it comes with sweet potato fries you can also get Tiana’s beignets here while you’re at it!
@AlisonK I worked in what they called Magic Kingdom East as an attraction hostess…running rides like Dumbo, Tea Cups, Mr Toad before it was Winnie The Pooh, Snow White which is gone now, and Space Mountain.
I personally don’t do sit down meals at Epcot, anymore. You can fill up on samples at kiosks. I am a vegetarian, so there really isn’t much for me. I think someday I will try the Rose and Crown Fireworks Dining PKG.
Garden Grill would be fun for a family. Have done the Ankershan Dining Hall, Coral Reef, Les Chef, & San Angel.

Depends on what your favorite food is! Steak?? Le Cellier at Canada…Biergarten is hearty food and great entertainment. San Angel Inn in Mexico is great atmosphere.
Ooohhhh I do live the vibe in Mexico!
La Cava del Tequila is inside Mexico…kinda in a nook you pass by it and miss it. GREAT margaritas!
We did San Angel in Mexico as that was a bucket list. That was pretty cool too.
Now I am confused is it in 3 minutes or 33 minutes?
Live until 730pm
@TracyA2016 Omg.
Can you tell I just got off work and am goofy?

We love Chefs de France. One year we were there and they had a Remmy animatronic come to the table
That’s so cute! I think I would pass away if I saw him
That is a cute experience!!!
@Brittanyandthebeast this was back in 2011…they stopped it.
I did not know about this!! Now I need to go back!
@JenDF they always stop the best things!!
I did too!
We are going next week. Have not been to the water parks since 1995. What are the must do items and foods?
@Courtney_Raptive Which resort?
@Courtney_Raptive I still want to try the Monorail Crawl
@TracyA2016 Yes that’s another great idea!
@Courtney_Raptive Oh wow!! Let us know and take LOTS of pics!!!
@Courtney_Raptive The food at Boma is so good. Definitely try the bobotie and zebra domes.
@Courtney_Raptive one thing to note with that resort is balloons have to be checked into bell services. They are not permitted in rooms because they can end up in the savannas. You also cannot keep anything on your balcony for the animals’ safety too.
I’m a lazy river kinda gal so both Typhoon and Blizzard Beach have awesome lazy rivers. Blizzard has Summit Plummit…tallest drop.
@TracyA2016 Our plan is to catch the earliest flight and do Boma for brunch as soon as we get there!
I haven’t been to the water parks in over 10 years, but I do recall getting a sand pail ice cream sunday at Blizzard Beach that was so good but too big to finish!
@TracyA2016 I will report back will a full recap! We’re going for my birthday, so I’m excited to get my button and drink around the world that day!
@TracyA2016 oh my gosh me too. That is one thing i plan on doing for sure! Love a lazy river.
@TracyA2016 Love a lazy river! I’m staying at a resort for the first time this summer, so I’m debating going to one of the water parks as well during an “off” day.
@TracyA2016 the Animal Kingdom Lodge! We got a Savana view, so I hope to see some giraffes!
@AlisonK I heard about that! I wasn’t planning on getting a balloon but good to know if I am tempted!
Typhoon has a really fun water coaster and any lazy river is a fantastic lazy river. The Blizzard Beach one can have some cold splashes along the route. Both are great water parks, but I am partial to Typhoon.
If you go to Typhoon Lagoon the Hei Hei Cone is a must!!
@Courtney_Raptive don’t skip out on Gruder Point the bar and grill behind the oil! It’s one of our favorite spots! Good menu, good view and atmosphere!! Go at night and you get a great view of the electrical water pageant during your meal!
I would go on all roller coasters
@TracyA2016 SeaWorld Manta is the BEST!!
Which one is your favorite Erin?
@Courtney_Raptive because I am roller coaster girl
@Courtney_Raptive Kraken is my 2nd fav coaster EVAHHH
If you are coming to Central Florida and you have the time I recommend not limiting yourself to Disney. Sea World and Universal have amazing roller coasters.
@TracyA2016 So true! I regret not going on the Kraken at Sea World when I was in middle school. It looked too scary!
@Courtney_Raptive all roller coasters at Disney
We plan oh hitting as many as we can yoo. Tron and Guardians were not built when we went last.
At mexico
For my September trip, I am so torn between Polite Pig and Homecomin’ at Disney Springs. Which would you recommend?
@Brittanyandthebeast Earl is a must at Disney and Las Vegas for me.
@AlisonK Earl of Sandwich was always my first stop when stepping foot on Disney property too! Much love for a great sandwich!
@AlisonK TOOJAY!! Oh yes…love the rugelach!!!
Man…those are both amazing. I kinda have a preference for bbq for Polite Pig is my go to. But I have never had a bad meal in either one.
@TracyA2016 Triple J sandwich hold the cheese and extra dressing on the side. Black and white cookie for dessert.
Have not been to either but for me I would go for Homecomin’
Do Polite Pig for lunch or dinner and Homecomin’ for breakfast/brunch! The chicken and waffles are amazing!!
@Brittanyandthebeast Ohh chicken and waffles might have clinched that. My first Disney Springs meal is always an Earl holiday sandwich.
When we go to Disney Springs Our must is Raglan Road. I always ask my daufhters where they want to eat and this is one they consistently ask for.
That’s a toughie!! I do love BBQ but I love the southern vibes of homecoming!
I’m also planning a Disney Springs dinner and I think you inspired me to book Homecomin’!
Be aware that some “Elite” rides are not open at rope drop.
@TracyA2016 Good to know! I was hoping to race to Guardians of the Galaxy but I’ll double check if it’s open then!
@Courtney_Raptive One last Rope Drop tip - Typhoon Lagoon - enter the park and go the right - there are bathrooms right outside of Crush n’ Gusher. @tgree9369 That’s a great idea! Thank you!
@tgree9369 That sounds like the perfect start to the day, writing it down for the plan!
@tgree9369 These are great tips! Thank you so much!
My last rope drop I got there as early as I could then snacked on one of those little boxes of cereal (Frosted Mini Wheats) till the rope dropped.
I definitely want to do Epcot and maybe Animal Kingdom, and Magic Kingdom if I’m not exhausted. I’ll be staying from Animal Kingdom Lodge with is a bit further from the other two parks.
@tgree9369 The Skyliner is just a great experience just to ride!! Great to be on when ECPOT fireworks start.
@Courtney_Raptive at AK - if you head to Asia for rope drop - staging area - you can hit Expedition Everest several times as a walk on - we hit it 4 times before the crowd made it back there.

We are doing Keys to the Kingdom. Has anyone been and did you love it?
I have not but that sounds amazing! Please share your experience here after!
@Courtney_Raptive I certainty will. Next time I go I want to do the one at Animal Kingdom. Could not afford both in 1 trip…lol.
@AlisonK Harbour House inside Magic Kingdom
@Brittanyandthebeast Adding to my list for this trip!
@TracyA2016 lobster roll?! Where??? Love lobster rolls, but never had one at Disney.
@Brittanyandthebeast Can be easily done!
Done the tour as a guest and been in the tunnels many times working. It’s neat for the behind the scenes look, but the magic takes a hit. Also the tunnels can be stinky and drippy.
My favorite was the behind the scenes train tour with my dad since he loved trains and felt very Walt ish.
@TracyA2016 When did you work there? What did you do?
I guess that is being added to the itinerary. I plan everything down to the exact food. I’m a big obsessive.
@TracyA2016 my dream is to be a cast member one day!
@Brittanyandthebeast I have never tried that…I will put it on my list
@TracyA2016 That sounds like such a fun experience!
@TracyA2016 that’s what I always get!!!

We enjoyed the tour and the food at Columbia Harbor was good. Loved getting our key pin souvenir as well. I would recommend it is you do want to know more of the history behind the parks. @Brittanyandthebeast They do have a good lobster roll
@TracyA2016 I did castle show summer of 2012, caused chaos in Tomorrowland in 2008 and 2011, and did Family Fun Day down Main Street 2007-2008. There other times too, but statused to a different park.

That I have not but I used to work there so I didn’t think I needed it HAHHAAAA
@AlisonK I worked in what they called Magic Kingdom East as an attraction hostess…running rides like Dumbo, Tea Cups, Mr Toad before it was Winnie The Pooh, Snow White which is gone now, and Space Mountain.
We are SUCH a chatty bunch and I’ll leave this thread open for the rest of the night so we can all keep asking questions
Sorry I only caught the tail end - business called and I answered. LOL Great discussion!
@tgree9369 There’s always more to be said
I think you’ll like Via Napoli, if you e never been there.
Great vibes and food!
I’m sorry I missed this I was on a flight home from a vacation. Unfortunately not Disney.
@damengler sent you a logo for your upcoming Challenge FYI
Cheese and crackers did I miss it?
I personally don’t do sit down meals at Epcot, anymore. You can fill up on samples at kiosks. I am a vegetarian, so there really isn’t much for me. I think someday I will try the Rose and Crown Fireworks Dining PKG.

We love Coral Reef. It’s fun to watch the divers (we’ve been the divers a couple of times!), and we think the food is pretty good!

Eaten at more than half of these, Spice Road Table is on the top of my list.
