Disney is already losing millions in revenue, mainly from the failed movie plots that they have tried to pull off. I hope Disney loses big time, because they have had their special tax break for 50 years too long

    1. you just say that because you are a christo-fascist scum just like Meatball Defascist.

There are so many ither problems in the state of Florida that need attention. This is not one of them. DeSantis is destroying the state of Florida and those who voted for him deserve what they are going to get. Wake up

        Your temper tantrums are epic.

You have to appreciate these commenters that boast there opinions, that have no idea what entails for either side, but at the end of the day Disney will regret they did not stay in there lane of Entertainment.

Disney will probably do well financially over loosing Reedy Creek. They no longer have to be responsible for roads. …Water…fire department….maintenance in common area..etc….now they just pay taxes….and all else will be taken care of..

      1. Be Smarter

        Exactly.

      2. KMAN

CF … Financials are but a small part , taxes that Disney collected will now go to the state to take care of utilities , but now Disney it self will get a big tax burden along with the red tape bureaucratic that the other theme parks go through , Disney had control over this but no more. Disney exempted themselves from outside scrutiny and regulations in which they will now face .

It’s the same ‘deal’ that was given to ‘The Villages’. I guess they’ve had it too long, also?

    4. Sarge

And I guess you hope the same thing for the 1800 other special districts in Florida? Actually I’m guessing you didn’t even know about them, and are only voicing your opinion because the peanut gallery used some buzzwords.

    5. Be Smarter

Nonsense. Disney still makes bank, but overpaid buying Fox and all of Fox’s intellectual properties. The debt vs income ratio is out of whack, and Disney+ was losing a lot because Disney invested far too much money in new productions and content. Only propaganda far-right wing fools cheer against Disney – the state’s #1 employer and massive taxpayer.

Disney brings so much revenue to the state and DeSantis is an idiot. Disney should close up then see what Idiot governor does

The people of Orlando and Osceola counties will have to bear the taxes now, Deathsantis is on a war path and he will loose. Disney will be here long after Deathsantis is long gone!

Yay, more of the tax money that is collected in FL can now be used for the interests of the people of FL, instead of going to support the interests of the Disney company! What a GREAT thing for the people of the state of FL!

      1. Sarge

Lol those taxes Disney were paying and all the maintenance they were performing (in literally the best maintained area of the state) now gets to fall on local taxpayers! Hooray for more taxes I guess.

LOL You consistently provide the most incorrect and uninformed comments on this site. Perhaps learn something before flooding the comments with so many failed opinions?

      3. Be Smarter

Also, you’re mistaken if you think Disney’s going to take this lying down. Disney will knock the funk out of Meatball Ron.

If only the public would understand the depth of the corruption that Disney is involved with! They have been silently corrupting ALL of the children through subliminal messages in ALL of their films! Disney should be destroyed due to its SATANTIC WAYS! They have the devils numbers in ALL of the logos and even in the mouse Ears! Can’t you see through the EVIL? ALLOW GOD TO OPEN YOUR EYES AND SEE HOW AWFUL THIS COMPANY REALLY IS!!! They are not for our good! They have a HIDDEN AGENDA AND WE THE BODY OF CHRIST NEED TO STAND UP AND DESTROY THE WICKED WHOM HAS COME TO DESTROY HUMANITY!!! WAKE UP!!!

    2. Jim

You hope. Other states, even Ruby Red ones, would love to entice all those tax and tourist dollars away from Florida.

I disagree with Disney’s view on the Parental Rights In Education bill, but I even more disagree with DeSantis abusing governmental power to retaliate against Disney for exercising First Amendment rights.

No one who disrespects the Constitutional rights of their opponent belongs in government at any level. DeSantis will never be President, and I now see that that’s a good thing.

    How do we cancel DeSantis?

The RCID should have never been under the full control of Disney. The only reason Disney created the RCID was to have access to the low rate municipal bonds. If Disney wants full control of the land then let them assume the RCID debt, dissolve the entire district, and let Disney buy the RCID property at appraised value minus the debt.

As for winners and losers… the only losers are the people who visit WDW. In the end all the legal bills for both sides will be paid for by Disney if they loose. If Florida looses and has to pay all legal fees, then the new district or florida will simply pass on the cost through tourist taxes that will only apply to the area inside the RCID area. In either case, Disney will pass on the cost to its customers.

They built and created it. Without Disney, it would be a Florida swamp and nothing more.

    2. Be Smarter

      LOSE, not ‘loose.’ Come on.

Be smarter: Yes, it’s spelled incorrectly. Thanks to auto correct and AI. I just got tired of retyping it, only to have my phone auto correct it again with the incorrect spelling.
