Government should not control private companies and Disney had every right to free speech just as other companies support gun rights. So after reading the multiple same posts from the same people I have a few things to point out to you all. First Disney announced this project called Walt Disney world in 1965. It opened in 1971. The Reedy Creek legislation passed in 1967.
Next, It is in the best interest of a company that relies on a broad customer base to not be political in social things or at least do it quietly and don’t be so loud about it. Especially in a topic so divisive as the one they got involved one. The legislation had nothing to do with Disney itself and should have been left alone by them. One of the things Chapek actually tried to do correctly was to not say anything about the topic. Unfortunately, the minority with the big mouths in California forced his hand and instead of being the CEO of a company he bowed to them and completely screwed up. He upset half of the customer base and created a target in the political arena of the company. He did not make Disney look Good. There is no winner in what Disney did only losers and now we are seeing this now. Disney is not reliant on one minority group to make money they rely on all people to make money. That is why they had things that appealed to both Democrats and Republicans ( just an easier way to talk about this). While it hasn’t taken fulle effect yet Disney has seen some significant losses because of this with the customers. They have had more flops recently than record breakers and the trend continues. Partly due to the evisceration of all the creative departments and its reliance on sequels rather than new content. But I digress there is evidence there. The parks have started waning and will continue after the Post shut-in period honeymoon as well as the costs become a bigger issue. Now let’s look at a worst case scenario, as they have a split clientele, with a company that has a very particular type of customer base and that is Bud Light. The problem with the Bud Light issue is they insulted the majority of its clientele. They are getting their arse handed to them right now by their customers. The reason for this is that the Bud Light chose a group of people to advertise to that were not even buying the product line and actually of dissolving the no interest in it, however alienated its largest core group of customers and they said no way and are saying it with their dollars. However, there have been grublings from Florida about dissolving the special district for years. Long before the current governor. As this round happened it isn’t that easy and all we really did was re-name the district. The problem they have neglected is that there are actual towns in the Reedy Creek District. With out knowing the details of Florida law I would have to assume that the residents of Lake Bueno Vista, Celebration and forget the name of the the other city/town in side Reedy Creek actually do have a say and a right to vote on who represents them on the district’s board. They could sue for the right to be able to vote for the representatives on the Board just like any other county.
I’m glad your opinion is just that- an opinion. Disney will be around long after DeSantis and his Republican puppets that created this situation. People will continue to come from all over the world to visit Disney. I don’t know why you all think Disney is hurting financially. They truly have ocean deep pockets.

As a homeowner in a Beach town in Florida I believe that the Governor should care more about the tremendously escalating insurance premiums that a great number of his constituents are experiencing than if Disney chooses to be inclusive. And I believe,he could stay governor even if he loses. He is getting away with all sorts of deceiving laws while in office. People need to wake up and see what’s happening here.

So after reading the multiple same posts from the same people I have a few things to point out to you all. First Disney announced this project called Walt Disney world in 1965. It opened in 1971. The Reedy Creek legislation passed in 1967.
Next, It is in the best interest of a company that relies on a broad customer base to not be political in social things or at least do it quietly and don’t be so loud about it. Especially in a topic so divisive as the one they got involved one. The legislation had nothing to do with Disney itself and should have been left alone by them. One of the things Chapek actually tried to do correctly was to not say anything about the topic. Unfortunately, the minority with the big mouths in California forced his hand and instead of being the CEO of a company he bowed to them and completely screwed up. He upset half of the customer base and created a target in the political arena of the company. He did not make Disney look Good. There is no winner in what Disney did only losers and now we are seeing this now. Disney is not reliant on one minority group to make money they rely on all people to make money. That is why they had things that appealed to both Democrats and Republicans ( just an easier way to talk about this). While it hasn’t taken fulle effect yet Disney has seen some significant losses because of this with the customers. They have had more flops recently than record breakers and the trend continues. Partly due to the evisceration of all the creative departments and its reliance on sequels rather than new content. But I digress there is evidence there. The parks have started waning and will continue after the Post shut-in period honeymoon as well as the costs become a bigger issue. Now let’s look at a worst case scenario, as they have a split clientele, with a company that has a very particular type of customer base and that is Bud Light. The problem with the Bud Light issue is they insulted the majority of its clientele. They are getting their arse handed to them right now by their customers. The reason for this is that the Bud Light chose a group of people to advertise to that were not even buying the product line and actually of dissolving the no interest in it, however alienated its largest core group of customers and they said no way and are saying it with their dollars. However, there have been grublings from Florida about dissolving the special district for years. Long before the current governor. As this round happened it isn’t that easy and all we really did was re-name the district. The problem they have neglected is that there are actual towns in the Reedy Creek District. With out knowing the details of Florida law I would have to assume that the residents of Lake Bueno Vista, Celebration and forget the name of the the other city/town in side Reedy Creek actually do have a say and a right to vote on who represents them on the district’s board. They could sue for the right to be able to vote for the representatives on the Board just like any other county.

The only consolation is that Florida law says he has to resign as Governor to run for President. So it’ll be a lose-lose for him, and a win-win for Floridians. And even if he doesn’t resign and run, he’s in his 2nd term and can’t run again so there is light at the end of the tunnel regardless….

Unfortunately the Florida legislature just passed or is getting ready to pass a bill that will allow DeSantis to remain governor while he runs for president. And I believe,he could stay governor even if he loses. He is getting away with all sorts of deceiving laws while in office. People need to wake up and see what’s happening here.

It seems to me that Ron is using his power to beat down people who don’t agree with him. Even if Disney’s views are not the same as the majority they should be entitled to voice their views without fear of retribution. I would never vote for him to be a dog catcher, let alone President. Too bad, because at first I saw him as a viable candidate with a decent conservative agenda. But going after people with dissenting views when you have his type of power is scary.
