Sadly many parks are staffed this way which is the old style industrial revolution where one must pay for one’s own housing while making less than regular employees.

  2. The college program is a great opportunity for those wanting to work or enjoy Disney and its surroundings– its not meant to be a “full time adult job” — im sure the opportunities are there for those who wish it to be their adult life destination, so personally i think this article is unfair how it is presented. Even Disney falls into the category of being criticized in todays society– and for good reason, im sure

I am NO FAN of the current regime running the evil empire and I do mean EVIL. BUT – “exploitation” REALLY??!?! Get a grip. You applied, you knew what you were getting into and now you gripe? You probably learned more from Disney and it used to look good on a resume – not sure now BUT that’s worse than an institution of higher learning where you pay to be indoctrinated with useless beliefs and skills not fit for the real world? I worked for 4.90 and after 5 years attained the high hourly wage of 5.30 (not that many years ago!. I drove 100 miles round trip and I was HAPPY and felt privileged to work for a prestigious company that brought joy to people. Life is a tradeoff – if you want money go into something else. I wll however loudly admit that what IGER is paid and other top execs is obscene.
