North Carolina has a super majority GOP legislature that is about to pass an anti-trans bill. So Disney would end up in another fight in another state.
Universal doesn’t care too much about politics. So they are building a park in Texas. Disney would never build there. Too conservative.
How about Virginia, Pennsylvania, or Maryland? I think the weather there is pretty much like it is in Paris and Disney Paris is open just about every day of the year’. And many of the current “outside” tides could be undercover or inside in a colder environment! Not only that but it would be closer to the major cities east of the Mississippi. Even if it had to close for a couple of months, that time could be used to do repairs snd refurbishments!
Weather in VA, PA, and MD is quite different than NC. Colder in winter and hotter in summer. Although Disney considered NC and SC prior to FL, I think it is time to give the midwest some consideration. Of course, foreign visitors would need to be considered.
I think a park in North Carolina would be fantastic! I for one would love to have those state resident benefits. We love Disney world and go as much as we can. If it was closer we would live in the back yard. Can’t wait to see what happens.
As much as I love Disney, I would not want them here in NC. We don’t need a tourist attraction like Disney and the article mentions potentially Hilton head no way Hilton head would allow Disney to come into that area. They are so strict on even the businesses and restaurants that are allowed to be there and what things need to look like they would never approve Disney to build there. Not to mention the traffic to get in and out of Hilton head is bad enough now.
NC needs more jobs in this state. Yes it would put more traffic in some places ,but it would be very beneficial for people looking and wanting a job. I believe it is a great idea. Bring on Mickey!!
I was at Bragg in N.C. during the winter and it was very cold and other states even with & north of N.C. would be the same way. So it would be very uncomfortable during winter time and that would not be good for Disney!
One of DeSantis’ early attacks against Walt Disney World revolved around Disney not paying its “fair share” in taxes. In an update to the website this year, Disney disclosed that it has paid $1.146 billion in state and local taxes. Disney says that it is the “largest single taxpayer in Central Florida”.Desantis is anti business and anti Florida.he is also anti history anti immigration. anti renaissance. anti gay anti books ..but he is pro AR15s
I agree. I just got Annual Passes. While I hate how disgustingly red Florida is, I do not want Disney to move (something I didn’t know before moving here…I knew it is a red state, but I didn’t know how retardedly red it was here).
It would cost Disney trillions to up and move WDW to NC. Ain’t gonna happen.
A new park, anywhere, would cost billions, if not trillions, with today’s inflation.
Sorry NC, and any other state that dreams of a Disney park, but with the layoffs, the lower stock value and loss of fan base, due to politics and opinions (like it or not), Disney is not breaking ground any time soon.

No way. My daughter lived in Jacksonville, NC during her husband’s time at Camp Lejeune. It got really cold in the winter. Maybe Parisians are tougher and can stand doing rides in cold weather, but it won’t fly here. Also, as for wanting a Disney park in my state of TN? No way. We have enough crazy tourists here!
A conservative Disney? Meaning what? Who are you keeping out of the park? Right now, Disney welcomes everyone, even you. So who do you want to keep out?
Nope. We do not want Disney in N.C. All I can say is No! Alot of reasons but personally I just wish they would shut them down! I hope they never come to our beautiful state.
T T T That’s all folks🤭
I would love to see another Disney. I hate having to go all the way to Florida everytime I want to bring the grandkids there. Virginia or North Carolina would be great places. At least I could drive there in a day instead of 3 days in the car. Probably just wishful thinking
If they want to move it. Why don’t they move or add on to south Carolina and north Carolina to the beach areas. That way Myrtle Beach can be added to it some what. It would help both areas.
PLEASE come to N.C. Sampson County has plenty of cheap dry land & it is 1 hour to Wrightsville Beach & would bring much needed jobs to a rural area that does not flood & the soil will grow about any fruits, especially blueberries & all sorts of vegetables. PERFECT LAND & PERFECT SPOT FOR MICKEY TO MAKE HIS NEW HOME!!
With Universal having just announced a new park in Texas, Disney would be smart to open up something there and make it larger than Disney World. Diensy World wouldn’t need to shut down, but a lot of tax dollars would now head to Texas instead and they could make a big deal out of how DeSantis forced their hand into doing so.

I would welcome a Disney Park in North Carolina. Not having to go to Florida, is a bonus.

An east coast version of “Disney Seas” would be a great addition to the Disney parks family

Those that don’t know just are destined to repeat it.
Disney tried to build in southern Virginia – that project was opposed by the public and EPA. It failed at a considerable expense.
The also tried a mountain park in Northern California- failed for similar reasons.
One major requirement is god weather year round. As well as roads and airports. I-95 in the Carolina’s is a mess today.
Such proposals are shear folly. That’s why the last new sites have been in new International markets.
Inside the Magic – stick to what you know – or consult with Ricky B.

I feel another Disney park is a good idea.
But maybe, Texas, Oklahoma, or New Mexico.
But I’d love to see a conservative Disney again.

They need to buy Ghost Town, in Maggie Valley, NC and refurbish It!

We can’t people out of a Panthers game or even a concert, there is no way we can handle a Disney in NC.

Disney is moving like Ukraine is winning the war.

Disney moving, more like whining. They can’t have their cake and eat it too… too bad, so sad.

NC would be an excellent place actually a better location. Better weather also. Florida sometimes it is just too hot for some people.
