I still remember seeing Raiders of the Lost Ark for the first time. It was during the summer in Sonoma, California at the Sebastiani Theater on the town square. This 10 year old boy was in awe of the non-stop action I saw. Amazing! To this day Raiders remains one of my all-time favorite movies. As size as it is to say, it is time for Indy to hang up his fedora and bull whip. Harrison Ford is the one and only Indiana Jones and the character does not need to be rebooted or have the mantle pass to Chris Pratt. Fortune & Glory kid!

Sad 😔 but the show must go on. But the original movie 🎦 is unprecedented. Do you remember it being promoted and making line to watch it the same way as star wars new hope… good memories.

Nice comment. I too saw the film in a movie theater, with my younger brother. I was a newly licensed driver; my brother was not old enough to drive.

At the time, I had heard that the guy in RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK, was the same guy in STAR WARS, but, I was not sure if it was the blond guy or the dark haired guy!

I think Indiana Jones is too good of a story to end

I took my brother with me to Raiders of the Lost Ark. We both loved it. We’re going to see the Dial of Destiny as a tribute to Great Franchise and a Great Actor. I’m sad to see it end. But yet it’s time for Indy to hang up his hat and enjoy life.

Yes, great idea! You + your brother, saw the FIRST, so it’s only fitting that you two see the LAST one. A family tradition.

That’s what I suggested to my younger brother, a month ago, while we were out driving.

Ford is in his 80’s now. It’s actually remarkable that a fifth movie has been made (although whether or not it will be *good* still remains to be seen). Here’s hoping they don’t try to revive or reboot the franchise anytime soon. Let the character be synonymous with Harrison Ford.

I read, ages ago, that Harry Ford has always seemed more youthful than his chronological age. When he was in his early 20’s, this was, sometimes, not good. He was an adult who, sometimes, was rejected for adult roles, because he looked to much like a teenager!

Remember it’s not the age, it’s the mileage. 😁

While Iger has made it clear to Kennedy that if INDIANNA JONES 5 doesn’t make at least 900 million at the Box Office she will be publicly fired and in Hollywood that means publicly shamed, the word is that Kennedy has so irrecoverably damaged the movie with her political/feminist messaging that there’s no way to course correct in the time she has left. Sadly, expect IJ5 to not be the end to the series we all hoped for but another failed Disney film like the rest since the company went woke and got Broke.

Talking b*locks I see. Can’t we wait and see how the film is before we echo Trump and his turd Reich cronies?

    2. Bert

      Woke. Define. Can you?

    3. Jon

Yes, there’s nothing worse than someone’s unwanted political messaging.

And there it is, everyone – the domestic butthurt rightwinger. Stop trying to inject your political POV where it isn’t needed, much less asked for.

It’s time. This franchise has been going on the whole time I have been alive almost 42 years now. WOW.

Harrison Ford can hang his hat and whip in my place anytime. He s still a healthy..sexy..funny..intelligent MAN💘❤❤❤

I love Indiana Jones and Harrison Ford is my favorite actor. They had over 40 years to make as many Indiana Jones films with Harrison Ford as they wanted and now he’s very old and it is the last chance to get one last great film. It would have been cool to get a few more films in the 90’s and early 2000’s if the stories would have been unique but I’m happy that we got 5 films and I’m happy and excited to see one last Indy adventure.

Can’t wait to see Harrison Ford back as Indy to wrap up the franchise. Ford will always be Indy but who knows, years from now, there might be new adventures with a younger actor playing Indiana Jones and that would be fine too. Anything is possible.

Never say never just like james bond, indiana jones will be back again.

Disney will give it some time, I would say 5-10 years, then they gonna reboot the series, or as many of you said, they gonna make something similar to star wars, which includes plenty of disney+ spinoff series, and I would not be surprised if we will see Ford again (thanks to AI) starring in a wave of new films.

Mr. Ford is my favorite actor, I fallow all his movies , Indiana Jo es for me is the best one. This franchise no need to end , they can do more fallow his retirement. This is only an opinion , they could do a continuing movie with his “ son “ like a hereditary curiosity for arqueólogy like his father. I understand he need to retire but Indiana Jones is something we need .And also know the movie is nothing without Mr. Ford. But behind of him is a lot of very smart and creative people that not going to let Indiana Jones be forget it. I’m sure of that. My best wishes for Mr. Ford . And the people behind “ think about it” It’s a lot of people that like to see at least one more time “Indiana Jones”in action 🙏

Is English your third or fourth language? What a mess. You sound like a modern high school student.

  11. I am sad to see Harrison hang up his Indy hat. I have loved this series from the start. Not sure who could fill his shoes.

  12. Robin

Time to end the series. Without Harrison no point. 5 movies is more than enough.

  13. John

Ok, where’s the new Indiana Jones poster at? Please tell me Drew Struzan came out of retirement to do the poster. I know he’s retired, but I hope he came back just for this one film poster.

Disney might do a new adventurer and archeologist, but it won’t be called Indiana Jones, it will go by their name. Harrison is Indy, no more Indy films.

  14. John

If you created a new character, kinda like Indiana Jones, but a few big differences, I would cast Chris Evans as a new adventurer and Archeologist set during World War I. He would be perfect, but there needs to be a new name, because you can’t use Indy no more. I would have him know a very young Marcus Brody.

Nothing will ever come close to Raiders! I was 10 and with this and Star Wars plus Empire and ET to name a few, probably the most exciting time in cinema all these films were sooo original and beyond what was the norm. The same as Star Wars we only needed tbe 3 films back then and they remain classics as for the rest they’re just cashing in…My heart wants this film to be great but with Harrisons age and the usual CGI fest my head says t’ll be dissappintingly average…hope I’m wrong!

  16. Peter simonton,

I have a 7 up hat movie worn, 1981 or 1984 movie, need information on it, and an autograph if Mr Ford reads this,

It’s all sad anymore. It’s like saying goodbye to a version of yourself from a long time ago, back when things seemed simpler with intermittent warm fuzzies, a version of self that won’t be experienced again.

Continue it and or spinoffs would just lessen the value of what already is, it’d be like doing more for less, while undermining the project as whole. By ending it, it keeps it’s novelty and value, stakes claim in it’s time and space, thus never ends.

Every once in a blue moon we still watch the old ones, and enjoy the flashback in time.Even stream rented when we have the dvds. So it’s got its hooks in us as is. Anything more would just cheapen the whole nostalgia of it all. But who am I to judge! I’m just excited to show my daughter a new Indy movie, as she absolutely loved them when little, would dress up as him and go outside and play “adventure”. She always called him ” Cowboy Jones”. Lol She suffered a TBi at 18, it’s the little things that are so important and appreciated now. Not been into movies much anymore, or anything mainstream really… but this for sure will be a family affair. Warm fuzzies activated.

I have serious doubts whether this movie will be any good. If the original creators couldn’t recreate the sense of adventure of the trilogy in the fourth movie, will the new team be able to do that in the Dial of Destiny? We shall see!
