I think Disney should leave Florida all together Ron won’t be around forever but he will not ease up on his temper tantrums and bullying. Florida will suffer absolutely but Ron will also feel the heat for making Disney leave Florida
This is a lovely dream, but it will never happen. Over 50 years of investment and infrastructure building can’t just be picked up and moved. My petty little brain loves the idea, but the practical side reminds me that DeSantis won’t be around forever.
Get a grip. Florida’s governor did what most governors are afraid to do – stood up to the woke agenda against children. I’m GLAD he showed his anger at a corporation that jumped onboard with false accusations against a well thought out bill protecting children from teacher groomers. Florida residents should be proud that their governor took a stand that Walt Disney would have done himself.
I am so disgusted by Desantis and his portrayal of what he thinks is right for other people’s children. He is scared to death that his own children might interact with a child or a teacher who might look different from them and he wont be able to explain it. He can best be compared to Hiltler trying to rid Germany of the Jews. I hope Disney leaves or at least opens something that will compete with and take money away from Florida.
And that is exactly why Disney should leave Florida, regardless of the initial expense. Many people in Florida agree with you. They also hate Disney. Even after the billions in tourist revenue and the thousands of jobs, not to mention the global notoriety that comes along with having a tourist attraction of such grand stature, the people of Florida still hate them and want to see them humiliated by the Florida government. Disney will lose prestige. And they may never get it back. Children all over the world would see that those who are fueled by hate are the ones who are really in charge. One hopes that Disney will recognize the value of the Reedy Creek arrangement. More importantly, the CEO and stockholders must understand that this is only the beginning. The goal is to ruin Disneyworld. If Disney loses control of the surrounding area, it will be far easier for DeSantis and his minions to hinder any and all improvements, while running the surrounding area into the ground to make Disney look like a low-rent destination.
Indeed! He had to take a stand against Disney who thinks they own Florida. Good riddance to Disney and their smut movies masquerading as children’s movies.
If anyone leaves Disney it needs to be DeSantis! He only has his interests at heart and could car less about Florida. And his departure should absolutely NOT be to the White House!!!!!!
For a party that doesn’t believe in government intervention in business or personal life DeSantis is very interested in government over reach. He has been one more nail in the coffin of the republican party.
I think that Disney should leave Florida too‼️They should not let DeSantis threaten them nor bully them, if they move to another state and all of those people lose their jobs they will have DeSantis to blame and he will never be Governor nor President of these United States‼️He’s a horrible little man, must not get any love at home, he’s so Damm mean and obnoxious‼️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤡🤡🤡 🇺🇸
I believe Disney should move on as fast as they can however North Carolina is not the place Boston / would be a awesome place somewhere a place with awesome local law makers not to mention in the mist of all the colleges/ schools some place where the money amounts are good North Carolina would welcome Disney the don’t have nothing no attractions at all who wants to go there there is nothing to go too
I haven’t been to Florida in 7yrs. Disney in North Carolina would bring me back. All the millions up north would love the shorter trip. Less chance of hurricanes and how many yrs until Florida is under water? Too much politics, makes me sick
Pretty sure that North Carolina just lost out after the spiteful acts of the Republicans there (week of 5/15/23). They’re hardly any different from Florida. Why are they so obsessed with denying abortions, but just try to get them to save the kids from school shootings AFTER they’re born – they won’t hear of it!
Disney won’t be leaving Florida, but I sure won’t be going there either.
With climate change, being cold isn’t an issue. Hell, snow wouldn’t be a problem either as Disney knows how to deal with that thanks to Disneyland Paris.
North Carolina has a lot to offer as far as other attractions. It’s a beautiful state with endless mountain hiking trails on the Blue Ridge Parkway and then there’s the Biltmore and the coast. I think the two biggest problems for Disney is that they’ll go from one very conservative state legislature to another, so the politics don’t change for them, it gets too cold in NC in the winter. Too bad b/c I love spending time in NC.
Except North Carolina is pulling the same crap DeSantis is, so why would Disney go to another red state just to have to deal with this crap again? At least with California, Disney never had to deal with getting screwed over and has had a pretty strong working relationship with the state, where even though they are regulated, still are able to get away with a lot while also not having to worry about their free speech being hindered.
I think DeSantis is a fool. Florida would not be a vacation destination without Disney. Disney should threaten to close down for couple a weeks and see the outcry from resorts, restaurants, airlines etc.
Would love to see Disney buy the now closed park “Ghost Town In the Sky “, call it ” Disney in the Sky “. Re do it, with a Ghost Castle, Mickey’s lost mind, Minnie’s mice bites kitchen, come to eat and stay to gase at the stars. To tired to drive home, stay at the Inn mountain resort.
With global warming this can be a perfect time to look at cooler climate. Why not… Disney have nothing to lose. Disney will be successful no matter where they go.
DeSantis is relying on the fact that it would be impractical to move so is calling their bluff. Though I would like to see them call his bluff it seems a more viable solution for them to use their considerable financial resources and sue Florida for breach of contract. Though moving would cripple Florida’s economy it would also hurt the thousands that would be put out of work both at Disney and surrounding entities. Then again, perhaps it would serve them right for electing such a buffoon.
This is my main mentality in this. Like yeah, Ronda going after Disney and trying to make laws just to screw Disney over is enough to contemplate leaving, but with Climate Change becoming an ever growing problem and Florida being one of the first places in the US that’ll suffer the greatest, Disney really should consider moving far north close to the Canadian border (I vote for around Seattle/Vancouver since Disney is already in talks with Canada to do a lot within the country, including building a new major studio in Vancouver BC).
We would certainly visit a new Disney Park outside FL. The climate and politics make it very undesirable. Disney please move. As stated above you will be successful where ever you go.
DeSantis is a great governor. Disney is not the only game in town. Universal, Seaworld etc. etc. will more than willingly accept the increase in customers. How about Disney just get their business model in order and pay their fair share. Sit down with the governor and work out their differences. Just think if Universal took over all of the Disney property and followed the law as written. Disney is already in the hole due to their poor business practices. Good luck packing up and moving to another state. Kind of hard to put Cinderella’s castle into a suitcase. People need to stop listening to gender and Dem propaganda. As a parent, DeSantis has only done things to ensure the protection of children.
I think North Carolina would be a wonderful place for Disney to be. I have been a long time collector or Mickie and all Disney collectibles. Love it!!! I welcome Disney… would be a wonderful addition to our beautiful state!!
Jimmy you’re clearly a racist just like the rest of the evangelical community and GOP , plus if you want to protect children keep them away from Christian clergy not Mickey Mouse .
Yes I think another park built in a central location is what everyone needs a lot of people don’t go to Disney anymore because of the crows not being able to get on rides for hours and hard to enjoy and see the things in the park. a lot is missed. “Oh I didn’t see that” is a response I get. I think people who have the same feelings would frequent the park more and it would still J m o but I’ve stopped going so much because of all of those reason. Plus it’s getting really expensive so they need to look at too. ❤️
I would love if Disney made another park in the Carolinas. Ohio would not be so far away. Despicable DeSantis is cutting off his nose to spite his face. You don’t bite the hand that feeds you especially since Walt Disney took the swamp land and turned it into a billion dollar park with tax dollars supporting Fla. He wants to run DisneyWorld to his religious beliefs……and ruin it.
What Governor DeSantis knows (as do Disney shareholders), is that Disney absolutely does NOT have the resources to build another anything right now. Despite what people think, Disney has not paid dividends in YEARS. No profits means they’re a higher risk to borrow money. They need to get back to their grassroots, and dump their woke agenda. Walt would completely disapprove of his name being caught up in politics.
Sure Disney should add in another state ! I wish they’d build in Nevada!!! Cant stand what DeSantis is doing !!!! What an egomaniac! Someone needs to get rid of him asap
Do it! Not move, but create a third option. Visitors would love it! Disneyland and Disney World are both far too crowded. I love the New Orleans Square area in Disneyland- building a Disney New Orleans would accommodate both cruise and this theme… Why not negotiate with the Mexican government- maybe send a cruise line Vancouver-San Fran-LA-San Diego-Cabo San Lucas? It would ease the burden of Disneyland, and draw a whole new crowd- Finding affordable and available staffing would be a breeze, and maybe make working for Disney Mexico a migrant destination instead of illegal border crossings… not to mention capitalizing on the success of Coco and Encanto…
The king you ask for might not always be the king you get! Divide and conquer has always been a good war strategy. Now look at Floridians, scared of books that over half of them sit in libraries unread for years! Dont remember the real definition of the word “woke” and now fighting about the lifestyles of a group of people whose agenda doesn’t include your lifestyle. Stop allowing people to trick you into fighting their fights with no interest in helping you fight yours.
All you woke left wingers, Please do not come to Fl. or if you live here,Please leave. Desantis is a great governor with guts and common sense and loyalty to the real U S A which it seems like other political leaders do not have. Florida will survive without woke Disney.
The sooner you leave, the BETTER along with Woke Disney.
I’m a huge Disney fan, ever since I was a kid. I’m hoping that Walt Disney World will remain in Orlando, FL, but, I’m hoping that there’ll be another Disney Park in Atlanta, GA.
I’m a huge Disney fan, ever since I was a kid. My 1st WDW Vacation was back in 2008 when I was a Teenager & my 2nd WDW Vacation was back in 2015 when I was in my Early Twenties. I’m hoping that Walt Disney World will remain in Orlando, FL, but, I’m hoping that there’ll be another Disney Park in Atlanta, GA.
Colorado would be the best choice for their next location. There’s lots of land available and the infrastructure is already there to support it. Being centrally located would make it more affordable for families to travel to.
When you characterize being against the sexualizing and mutilation of children as a “hardcore right wing agenda”, it’s so easy to pick the side of good over the evil you and Disney stand for.
Personally, I feel that Disney will have to leave Florida for two reasons. The first is obviously the political issues going on with DeSantis and the right, where if they’re gonna try and strip Disney’s ability to function all because Disney speaks out against a bill, that’s gonna be far more damaging to them in the long run. The second and more important reason is that Florida may not even have the means to house anyone in 50 years, and as such, Disney needs to start having an exit strategy to a) get out of there and b) build somewhere that will be far less affected by climate change.
I am very upset by the war that DeSantis have placed on Disney…my brother and I brought into the DVC in 2003 because we grew up with Mickey Mouse in the 50’s and our love and respect has not waived…my brother and I enjoyed coming to Disney world or Disneyland for 14/years until he unfortunately died 2018…he loved going and his favorite character was Donald Duck…since his death I have come the week of his birthday to reflect and remember the good times .. DeSantis is a person who if he doesn’t get his way or someone challenges him he strikes back in a very negative way..and causes tension…bad feeling…he is trying to destroy something wonderful …Disney isn’t perfect and DeSantis is just a very negative person who likes to hurt things he cannot control…I hope and pray Disney can win this battle for all us 50’s Mickey Mouse supporters
Who are you to say the guidelines of the American medical association and rhe American psychiatric academy, are not protecting children. They are the experts not some random Florida man.
