Oh no, not stuck on a Disney ship. How awful. 😂 Seriously, this is a non issue. Whether they travelled to the Bahamas overnight or directly there first thing in morning wouldn’t have wasted much time. You could leave on time, encounter rain, and the fireworks would be cancelled for that. Not a huge deal. I for one go for the ships I don’t care about the ports, especially an overrated one like the Bahamas.

Agreeeee lol I would love to be kept at a Disney cruise, maybe that’s whey they do it to tease us so we get pissed off and comment hahaha

No one was trapped!!! If you know anything about cruising.. no one ever gets off a ship at night because the ship sails to another port. We simply chose to stay in port to fix the issue and then sailed the next day. Stop reporting false news !! It’s ridiculous.

Agreed! The 6th grade level of writing is horrendous!

Right?! I thought they got locked in some storage closet or something! Ha ha! Trapped on the cruise, that they were already on! Oh my goodness!

The writer needs to take a cruise or two, on any cruise line and observe what really happens, port regulations, etc. Also, try reading the cruise contract, sometime.

Trapped? No better place to be. Sailed on The Wish last Halloween weekend, would have gladly been “ trapped”

Hardly “trapped”! We were on the Wish when Hurricane Ian hit and Cape Canaveral was closed. We got two extra nights, and were thrilled! There was thunderous applause in the dining room the night they announced our delay!

Same. Turned my 4 night into a 6 night. *no grievance filed*

Wrong Oscar 1 day but it was still pretty good

Being on the ship was great but the plan was to go to Castaway Cay. That was the disappointment to those who had a full day planned on the island.

        Big deal
Do it another time. Things happen
        Count all the good things

I hate that you’re cruise had an unhappy experience, however, your entrapment is a little strange. Did you book this trip yourself? Your itinerary shows the do’s and don’ts of your trip. We were just going and shopping and having a great time until it dawned on me what the time was. We had to put a WHOLE lot of PEP in our step! Alaska at 10 pm looks like 6 or 7 pm, 😂 and we had to BE on the ship by 10:45pm. Whew! 😅
In any of my cruises they’re not letting you out any time you want to go, oh no! Give them a second chance cause Disney spoils every one. 😇

When has anyone left the ship overnight?

As far as I am concerned being on a Disney ship for more than 5 minutes would constitute being stuck

Good grief! What a silly title. We weren’t ” trapped”. DCL decided to put SAFETY first. They had an issue with the PROPELLER and chose to stay in Port until it was fixed instead of heading out into the ocean where those crazy winds could have pushed us anywhere since we were having propeller issues.

Regardless of the mechanical issue we still would not have stopped at Castaway due to the high winds!

DCL went ABOVE & BEYOND on compensation as they did not HAVE to give people any compensation. $100 stateroom credit and 20% off a future cruise.

The people who are complaining are whiney and entitled. They need to grow up.

If your new car breaks down the dealership doesn’t compensate you, so stop thinking DCL owes you anything for a mechanical issue!

  11. My family and I were on a Disney Cruise ( 7 day) many years ago. Our 7 day cruise turned into a 10 day cruise due to a massive hurricane hitting cape Canaveral. WE were docked in Galveston TX, Disney was wonderful!! The patrons were given a choice to leave from Galveston, which included transportation. We chose to remain on the ship. We were given transportation from the Gulf side of Florida to Disney for a free night stay and transportation to our flight home. Of course all travel was booked through AAA and we had not one penny extra to pay. Disney cruise line was fantastic wirg gow they took control. Had several more cruises after that with them.

No, a better way of them taking care of their guests would have been to rebate them MONEY instead of a credit or a discount on another cruise. What if they can’t afford another cruise, even with a discount? It’s useless. What if they already bought what they wanted or didn’t want anything? It’s useless.

Can you imagine being “stuck” on a Disney Cruise ship!! What nonsense! It would be wonderful.
