So after getting outmaneuvered by Disney, which has, I guarantee you, far better lawyers and contract law experts than the State of Florida, King DeSantis is now spending taxpayer money to hire high flying law and accounting firms to try to regain his personal sovereignty over Mickey Mouse. DeSantis may be playing to the cheap seats in the MAGA crowd but he is underestimating what kind of firepower Disney can bring to the table in this fight. He is shameless and everything that he’s doing is in the service of getting the Republican presidential nomination but he doesn’t have the stones to really take Trump on and is even supporting him. As an example, take his proclamation that the would not allow Trump to be extradited to New York if he’s indicted. A hollow boast if there ever was one since there’s this thing called, now what is that name, oh yeah the Constitution. And this just in Ronnie boy. Even, if somehow, you do get the nomination, moderate Republican, independent and swing voters are not going to buy what you’re selling.
I think the contract states that the new Reedy Creek board can not use the Disney name or any of it’s characters. Disney has the right to protect it’s trademarks and patents.
The other part of the contract states Disney has to give it’s permission to build and have a say in the building architecture. Disney owns the land therefore it has the right to say what is built on it’s property and the buildings architecture.
The contract was made to protect Disney from DeSantis the dictator. DeSantis thought he would be running Disney, so Disney protected itself. The board’s job is to take care of the roads, provide infrastructure, and to collect taxes NOT to run Disney. Talk about government over reach.

Disney is one of Florida’s biggest employers, and had a $75.2 billion annual economic impact on central Florida in 2019.
Don’t let personal issues and beliefs into business dealings.
Both CEO (at the time) and DeSantis now should just exist as prior and let Disney continue to run as is and bring in those $$$$$ into the florida economy and be thankful that it is self governing and has done a wonderful job these past 50 year and will continue without hinderance from a Wanabe , for the next 50 year.
The bill goes on about not mentioning anything having to do with sexuality and the Florida legislature includes any teacher from even mentioning they have a same-sex spouse. By law that has to apply to opposite sex couples, but that’s not how it’s enforced.
It’s immoral and hypocritical to treat gay couples any different than hetero couples.
