This is why Disney is failing miserably. If this is the best they can come up with then that is sad. Even Universal is coming up with better and more creative ideas. It’s bad enough they have 3 dumbo style rides now they want two teacup rides. It’s just them being cheap and lazy, nothing original or creative anymore.
Agreed. Imagineering has definitely fallen off in the last decade. How about a merry go round ride that you load up in a merry go round and then you “come off the merry go round on a track and now your horse is riding through the chalk countryside? There’s a free idea that could be made to work that isn’t just a rehashed teacups.
I was thinking the same thing, boarding and unboarding carousel turntable platforms and all. the couusel horses would move up and down along the chaulk scenes dark ride. Use the fox hunt / horse race scenes from the original movie…if you want to make it longer add scenes of sequel as well. The only challenge for imagineers to work out are saftey restraints for the carousel horse attraction vehicles. Single vehicles would be more ideal, but an attraction vehicle with all 4 horses could work too….similar to the 4 flying bikes on ET ride.
Utilizing the same techniques as the popular Haunted House ride would be a far better experience than the stomach churning tea cup ride. C’mon Disney imagineers. Put on your Musketeer thinking hats.
It should be a dark ride taking guests through audioanimatronics, sets, 3D special effects and projection filled scenes of the movie Mary Poppins. What an incredible opportunity to make this attraction a one of a kind using Disney’s best New Technology. Use of the track less Technology in vehicles that are multi functional in everyday. Spinning, elevating, rocking, swaying, tilting with sound and sensors to emerge the guests into the world of Mary Poppins.

A ride where you’re taken into sidewalk chalk drawings. Such an iconic part of the film.

I was looking forward to the walk through #17 Cherry Tree Lane that was proposed a few years ago.

They need to put in a Huss Break Dance 5 ride in Epcot that would make my day that is a new ride tip from Huss company.

The only tea party acceptable for Mary Poppins would be the one in the air al la Ed Wynn.
