I brought my grandchildren from Maine to magic kingdom, we were so dissapointed in the whole thing. Making reservations on the rides did 2. It was looking old and tired there and very expensive for what we got out of the whole day.

Why can’t disney just find these people and ban them from all there parks,no excuses just kick them out of the parks and hotels.

    2. Steph.

You should have went to Disneyland Cali, we are from New Hampshire and will say the choice was well worth it. Last summer was our first time there and have been to the one in FL before but now we prefer CA Disneyland much better for all those reasons

I’ve found just the opposite. DLR guests are overall ruder and more annoying vs WDW . Now that’s not to say that WDW guests haven’t been getting worse either, but DLR everytime has had the more rude and annoying guests.

        1. John

100% Agree! Disneyland guests were extremely rude. And DLR is even worse at handling crowds. Alone I might return, but I’ll never take my family back to DLR.

      2. Polly

        Should have gone.
        Good grammar is tough!!!

Recently, my family and I ordered Fish and Chips near the pub in Epcot. I settled my family (which includes two members who have mobility issues). I returned to the pick up line, waited in line and was only able to carry a portion of my order. The cast member told me to return to the window for the rest of my order after I delivered the first part. I returned to the window and saying to the man waiting at the window “excuse me” 3 times, to which he never acknowledged me. After my last request, he physically stepped in front of me to block me from the window. When he collected his order and brushed past me, I patted him on the back and wished him “magical evening”, to which he threatened to call security. I just don’t understand the lack of common courtesy.

We are annual pass holders and live 25 minutes from magic kingdom..after parking and taking an hr to get from parking to the park we headed for pirates(our family’s favorite) only to have numerous guess cut us off, stop and decide to have a conversation right in front of our stroller. We decided to hit up Tom Sawyers Island after that only see a grown woman go around the bridge to play in the brook running threw the island. What has the world come to with everyone feeling so privileged because they bought a park ticket. Just because you paid foe the ticket doesn’t give you the right to act like an ignorant Moron..next time if you can’t act civilized do everyone a favorite and stay out of the park..we want to enjoy ourselves with our kids and laugh with other guest who want to feel the magic.

Oh it’s not just at Disney. I’ve had times where I’ve been walking down the street only for people to suddenly stop in the middle of the sidewalk to have a conversation and block the flow.
I’ve had someone blow smoke at my face just as I’m walking past.
I’ve had people stop literally at the bottom of an escalator just to talk, others in doorways ignoring that I’m asking them to move. Unfortunately it seems they’re all gathered in the same place. With this kind of attitude it starts before the magical gates.

I’ve been to Diasey more times than I could count. I’ve seen MANY things I should not have to be exposed to including the 1st 4 I’m reading here.
But I still have no reason to swear off my yearly visits because there are so many more ppl & things that make it magical to me.
If I were going to swear off Disney for the negatives things thsn I would have to stay home because this rudness is everywhere.
I say expect the best & look for it @ every turn. You will find it!!
Stop exploiting the objectional stuff & revel in what is wonderful.

    1. TL

I’m so tired of I expect the best and look for it attitude. It’s beyond rude behavior anymore, it’s appalling. Try being handicap to see how people treat you.

      1. Leah

Amen! I use a scooter in the parks and people will practically walk over top of me. Children have been more courteous to me than many adults. It happens on cruise ships as well.

        1. countesspetofi

I can’t count the number of times children have stopped, looked both ways, and decided not to walk out in front of my EVC without giving me adequate time and distance to stop… only to have a parent grab their hand and jerk them out in front of me. Kids being rude is almost always just bad parenting.

  4. Kalin Jack

First time and last time I’ll ever be going to Disney. Employees are not helpful at all and are extremely rude. Other people (parents) are so rude and mean my heals were bleeding from people stepping on me and running into me with strollers same with my kids. Adults there are the absolute worst people ever. Absolutely the worst experience ever. Came all the way from Michigan.

    1. CeeCee

I am very sorry that you had to deal with that.

    2. Steph.

Kalin Jack, try Disneyland CA, we go there all the way from NH. It’s much better. If anyone does, fly into John Wayne airport instead of LA. It’s much less crazier. We def prefer the land over world in FL. People in FL now a days are a whole other breed 🤦🏻‍♀️

      1. Ratherbefishing

Not sure if that was intended to be a political comment or just a dig on people from FL. Regardless it lands pretty flat as WDW is accommodating people from all over the world. ~75% of WDW guests are non-Floridians. Have a magical day Steph.

        1. anthony

True but it takes only one floridian to ruin it for everyone else

  5. We had a great time in February. You would think that it would be low crowds, nope, but better than Spring Break. Magic Kingdom is better with Genie plus. We were a group of 4, and it was a bargain compared to today ($20 each). I believe that you can have a good experience if you pay extra which is a shame. The end of the magic.

I took my son and his fiance to Epcot this past May before they went to North Carolina for work and school. I am disabled and had a Scooter for getting around but first of all I couldn’t believe the rudeness of other people. Cutting me off just to get in line in front of me. The cast members I dealt with on a few occasions were okay but two of them were extremely Rude and uncaring of my situation. The Scooter I paid to use broke down after less than 2 hours and I had to wait for over an hour to first flag down a CM Who could/would help me and then for them to bring me a new scooter. Then my bag of souvenirs was stolen from the basket as I used the restroom near the France pavilion with 6 Disney t-shirts for my family. And the CM I spoke to didn’t even care just saying there’s nothing that can be done. And then the waiter at the Steak house in Canada was so rude that we didn’t even finish our dinner and left without eating much. Big waste of money. I doubt we’ll be going back anytime soon it’s just not like it was even 5yrs ago and they have Lost control. I even asked for a reduction on what I paid for the scooter and was told that wasn’t possible. Very upsetting to myself and my family

I and two friends visited the Disneyland in Anaheim, CA years ago. It was so overcrowded that one could not move from one “land” to another. We were effectively trapped. All of the food vendors had very long lines so you couldn’t easily get food or drinks. It was just impossible. This was in the 90s, and I haven’t been back since. Who needs it, especially at the absurd prices they charge for admission.

    2. Stef

Do not stay in disney hotels. They charge your card on file what ever they want and I am talking over $600.00 and I am having hell to get it removed. And worse of all, they can’t show me what i was charged for. The best helpers are in guess services in the park. The rest bounce you around. I have been going there since 1974 about every 2-3 years and this was the worst. I am handicap and need a sckooter and I always get park hoppers and so you purchase a sckooter in one park and they will not guarantee they will have one for you in the next park. And no refund if they don’t have one. I left the hotel and went down the street and checked into another hotel, not as great but you only sleep there and I paid 107.00 per night compared to $650.00 per night and over charged my card over $600.00 and I did not use that card to pay my hotel. I other words you can save $550/night and still enjoy your self. Check it out, you will be amazed

  10. It’s a shame to hear the negative remarks. The world has changed in the last few years more then the last 20. People forget that the magic of Disney is that you can put the world behind and enjoy a place where everything is just as it should be. Some can afford the vacation but don’t get it. They just don’t get it. Fingers crossed.

I went to WDW in December 2022, before the Christmas rush, my eighth trip. Magic Kingdom was miserable, just way too many people. Too many strollers, too many ECVs, too many large groups randomly cutting us and others off just to stop suddenly in the middle of a walkway, lots of pushy and rude. We also visited Epcot and Hollywood Studios on this trip. While those parks were crowded, they weren’t over the top overcrowded like not so Magic Kingdom. It felt more like a mine field than a theme park.

  12. M Carter

To me I truly wish it were worth it for the price. It’s not!! Add to that the rude and malicious behaviors that go ignored by park staff. I just have no interest in going back. When we arrived early , as we stayed on resort property, I witnessed one guest push and knock another guest to the ground to get ahead on him. This was done right in front of park staff, and they did nothing. They did even check on the guest who had been knocked down!?!?! Way to worried about something more important I guess. Don’t even get me started on line jumping either. Why post anything when you re not going to do anything about it.

  13. Rudeness has gotten beyond rude, it’s appalling behavior. Me first, I’m going to line jump etc. The I can do whatever I want whenever I want then get offended if called on it is out of control.

The Orlando area has been inundated, 1000 households per month for the last two years due to Covid from people in the northeast. Their culture is different than ours in the south. They are used to living amongst large crowds and pushing their way through. I’m an annual pass holder and live close by and I have seen a change in the behavior of the population even in my city not just the parks and the feel of the parks made a stark change overnight. I don’t blame Disney for this but the influx.

  15. ResponsibleForMyActions

Oh, the humanity of it all!

  16. Darryl

Solution to this terrible situation at the Parks … just stay home so there’s more room for the rest of us 🙂

  17. I went in September and had a wonderful time. This was at least my 25th time at DW, starting in 1972, so I’m not a Newbie. I guess your mileage may vary!

  18. Buck

This is just sad to read.

  19. Unfortunately the Magic is dead because of poor Leadership on the Board and the Management through out WDW , Walt and Roy are turning over in their Graves .

  20. Brian

Disney needs to spend more of their millions on security within the parks. No guest should have to put up with the garbage that has been going on inside of the parks! Hopefully all of these rude people will be banned for life.

    1. countesspetofi

Spending more on staffing across the board would be a huge help. If there were enough staff to keep things running smoothly, and for guests to realize that there’s always a cast member there to see their behavior, would cut down on a lot of guests’ shenanigans.

Recently, I had a great experience at Epcot with my hubby & now 28 yr. old daughter. We even
    bought fancy ears.
But on another occasion, at another Disney park a man pushing a baby carriage with big tire like wheels knocked me to the ground. I was lucky to kick it off but it was scary.
    My son & hubby were
way in front of me & didn’t see what had happened. It shook me up but I was OK.
This has made me more aware.
People be aware of your surroundings.
    Thanks for listening.
    BS

I do think that putting your children on your shoulders shouldn’t be allowed. When my children were little we never did that to be courteous. Especially for a 2 or 3 year old who won’t even remember the experience. It’s very annoying.

    1. countesspetofi

People should at least let the folks behind them know they’re planning on doing it, so they have time to find another spot.

  23. Stephanie

As someone who has gone to Disney World every year since they opened I can say the last few years have not been a magical experience. People are rude and feel entitled. The staff lacks knowledge and organization. Lines are incredibly long no matter when you go. Rides constantly breaking down. It’s a tiring and aggravating experience for sure. We are now going on other destinations and not frequenting Disney as often

  24. h

Sorry to be that person, but really??? You don’t have a spell checker???

“Unfrotmaunetly” Is most definitely not a word

This is the #1 reason I don’t return to Disney. I prefer Universal. Disney does little to mitigate the issues, instead attempting to be neutral. Unfortunately, this leads to those of us disgusted by behaviors from returning.
The worst is line hopping & shoving at attractions without defined lines.
I had a man step on my hand while we waited for a show, and move a baby stroller while shoving his way through, as well as the same group of kids repeatedly passing folks in line by using “excuses” that they were left by parents which was proven not true when I followed them after multiple incidents. They were just line hopping.
    I guess their model works.

  26. Cheryl Machado

Honestly, there are several legitimate reasons to complain about, at Walt Disney World, especially in the last several years, but this is not one of them. That is typical behavior at any fireworks show, anywhere. We all have to deal with a certain amount of rudeness in large crowds, everywhere. This is not the fault of Disney and it certainly not as dramatic as ” appalling” and that being said ; I have seen some truly appalling things at Disney. In this case, though; I think they folks should just avoid crowds of any kind.

  27. Great. I wish the Hell that everyone I know didn’t want to go there. I’m pretty sure now that people will be on their best behavior when I get there with a wheelchair. This company operates like Walmart. Just bring your money back.

  28. Torn

It’s too expensive normal folks can’t afford it you have to be rich to go Disney sucks

  29. Lily

I hate when I let small children in front of my grandson then a few minutes later the Mom jumps in front blocking my grandson and me. It’s always the Mom. We were there waiting over half hour but they feel they can jump in.

  30. Karen Burberry

I have never had an unpleasant experience at Disney World. Every one or group of people seems to be caught up in their own experiences had or going to have. No matter what happens, I can’t see them as rude, because of that.
Attractions or rides are what they are. I have my favorites, and so does everyone else. I just go with the flow of people who I am with.

  31. Yes, my daughters purse was stolen right off of her chair. The only person possibly responsible was one of the cleaning staff. The Disney police were contacted. However my daughters class ring and money were never to be sen again

  32. Sad Disney Mom

Agreed, my family has always loved WDW. But enough is enough. The guest behavior is unacceptable. It was actually a better visit during Covid. Which is saying something. We saw more characters randomly while waiting in line, not as crowded and wait times were actually better. We have opted to go elsewhere for family vacations now. It’s been considerably less stressful, cheaper and great memories. Just sadly, Mickey-less.

  33. Mike L

Swear off Disney and come visit us at LEGOLAND in Winter Haven. It’s a much smaller park, way less people, minimal waits most of the time. Cheaper too.
No, we don’t have the “Disney Magic”, but we like to think we have some of our own. Plus, I’d put our waterski shows up against any of Disneys parades.
Only an hour drive from Disney. I-4 west to Exit 55, south on US-27 for a bit over 20 miles. Hang a right on Cypress Gardens blvd, come 4 miles down and you’re here.
Note: I do not work for or represent LEGOLAND or Merlin entertainment. I am simply a Winter Haven resident recommending a different choice. Let’s share the tourist dollars.

  34. Fred

In all honesty the only way anything is going to get done is if we all write a letter or email to Bob Iger himself stating that these unruly guests are ruining Disney itself, giving the company a bad name. Bad behavior doesn’t go away on its own, you need to kick it out the door! It’ll continue to come back but it will be less and less frequent until people realize that Disney won’t take this kind of behavior anymore. I completely understand that Disney is a publicly traded company but the public truly needs to step up and hold Disney accountable for letting people act this way.

  35. Kevin Schuhmann

I had a bad experience four years ago in 2019 at the Magic Kingdom! I wanted to pick a table for me and my parents to have lunch over at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe, but my mother suddenly gotten in my way and picked one right in front of me! I was so pissed at her about that and when she tried to apologize to me for the incident, she only made things worse! It was control people! Control!! So, after that we left Magic Kingdom and Disney World entirely, never to return again!!

  36. countesspetofi

Crowd control, security, and guest behavior are going to continue to be problems until the company decides to open up the purse strings and shell out enough money to hire an adequate number of fairly-paid workers. The skeleton crew currently working is just stretched too thin to be effective, and paid too little to care more than the bare minimum.
