We did visit for 3 days. There was NOTHING extra special for the 50th anniversary. Only difference was some anniversary theming and costumes. Same Disney, just less experience for more $

We were there for the “offical” 50th birthday October 2022, and made 4 or 5 trips from then to February this year. We were originally excited, expecting great things like WDW did for the Year of a Million Dreams where CMs randomly gifted guests with everything from fast passes, balloons, a night in the castle! , to a Disney Cruise!! Now, we did not expect all that again, mostly because we were just coming out of Covid restrictions. However higher prices, CMs thst were not as well trained, offen rude, and closed attractions and more really let us down.
Ok we thought, it will get better before March 31 2023…And it did. Barely. It was a massive letdown compared to other celebrations at WDW. If there hadn’t been signage, and the castle stating it was the 50th you might never know. Official 50th merchandise was delayed. Most of the rides and special new lands promoted before the shut down still aren’t done, or canceled. Unlike Universal that kept building , with covid guidelines mostly intact. Outdoor work could have continued at WDW. But no. Massive disappointment compared to other celebrations, including the 25th Birthday Cake Castle, whether you liked it or not. It was “Disney light” for the 50th. The only great thing is that it took a while for the crowds to come back. But even with the Park Resservations it felt, and feels, crowded mostly due to things not open and not as many CMs.
It has gotten a bit better. But it is different with all the planning required during a visit.
