  1. I think people go to the fireworks for the music and projections, because they are pretty good. If that’s not your thing or you’ve already seen the show, head for an attraction like seven dwarfs mine train, big thunder, or space mountain. If you want to complain about the environment, talk about the expensive “meh” food people throw out at the parks.

To those who complain about the fireworks not being any better than what they can see on the fourth of July there are numerous small locations that don’t have fireworks on the fourth for economical reasons and a lot for fire worries in the area. And that’s just for people from the United States where the fourth is a fairly important celebration, but what about people who are from other countries that don’t have a fourth of July celebration? Are we just supposed to have them not get a chance to see any fireworks because of a few people who have several unlimited chances to see them. If they’re so offensive go to DCA, or just leave before they start, you can come back early to enjoy the park or during the days before summer hits just don’t go on the weekends when they are having fireworks. My grandsons, their parents, and my wife and I really enjoy them even to the extent of paying extra for a room at the Grand Californian. But we are still in the belief that being in the park where the accompanying music and storyline makes the fireworks more than just a lot of big explosions and loud bangs. Leave the fireworks in place they are a lot of enjoyment to people of all ages.

I’m of two minds. The kid in me loves good fireworks, and Disney puts on a great show. The combination of fireworks, projections and music is worth the wait. The adult in me realizes that there are residential areas near the park, and the nightly noise must be a real challenge, not to mention the upset it causes their pets. And if there are any combat vets around – again, upsetting.
I have never seen a high quality drone show in person, and would love to do so. I’d be interested to see if it would be as exciting as fireworks. I agree that while I love fireworks, there are environmental and community-related reasons to replace them.

Disneyland was built before those residential areas… They should have known what they were getting into.
