Stories do that. Read a book. The problem with the Book of Boba Fett wasn’t that it veered away from the main character for a bit (again, many great stories do that), but that it was poorly executed, half-baked trash.
The Book of Boba Fett really was a season of The Mandalorian And Friends. They should have thought this out better and came up with a meta name for the Post rotj time frame and titled these series with that, and used Mandalorian, Grogu, and Fett as subtitles for S1, S2, and BBF
I have to wonder if the author even thought this through before he wrote this and posted it online. 1) Din Djarin has the Darksaber. 2) He has confirmed that Mandalore is habitable. 3) He has Bo-Katan by his side and a covert of Mandalorians behind him. 4) Bo saw a Mythosaur, fabled to lead to a new age of Mandalore. Put it all together and what do you have? Din and company are headed to Mandalore to reestablish their lives on their home world.
Dr Pershing and all that stuff on Corruscant? All the SW TV shows serve one purpose: to fill in back story between films. How else can they show fans how Sidious cloned himself? Make another movie? No. And the story is too disjointed for it’s own show. That’s why we have pieces of the cloning story happening in Bad Batch, some in Mandalorians, see me in Boba Fett, etc.
Bottom line is that this is how Disney is telling SW stories in their TV shows: with one eye on the plot of the show, and the other eye on filling in the details that help the sequel trilogy movies make more sense.
