It’s not the “Don’t Say Gay” any more than it’s the “Don’t Say Straight” law. It’s the “Parental Rights in Education” law, and it a) makes it so parents know what their children are learning in classrooms, and b) prohibits sex ed to K through 3rd grade.
Which begs the question – Why do Disney employees have such a problem with such innocuous provisions in a state law?
Could it possibly be that some Disney employees are in fact gay, are parents, have children in schools in those grades who can no longer talk about their family, and do not want they or their children more ostracized than they are, and are glad that their employer is supporting them? Wouldn’t you want your employer to support you in your life?
This will end up in court and I hope the state punishes Disney more. Pull their liquor licenses. Really – why is pushing all this sexual crap so important to Disney? And please – Its not the don’t say gay bill – its the teach my kid reading writing and math – skip the rest crap bill. When sex is this important to you that you have to talk to K-4th graders about ti you’re sick – you really have a problem.

Most teachers will not talk about Gender in up to puberty time, and then it is sex-education, that typically does not deal with that. Kids themselves are the issue, name calling, bulling, mean tactics! That is where the law should protect! Kids from other kids.
So you don’t support the clause that requires teachers to tell parents if their child asks the teacher if it’s normal to be attracted to your own sex, or feel like you’re a different gender than the one assigned at birth? Or do you think that all parents are just so understanding that there’s no risk?
You do understand that gay people can be born to rabid fundamentalists just as easily as they can be born to tolerant liberals, don’t you? Or is that where we have to defer to the parents’ prerogative to NOT look out for the welfare of their children?
If it goes to court and Fisney loses, I hope Disney will close the parks! Florida depends on tourism and most tourists go to Fl to go to WDW. No tourists…no tax money! That will destroy FL! DeSantis will be lucky if he ends up being a dog catcher in some out of the way small town!

Since the Supreme Court rules that the spending of money on politics is free speech, Disney chose to exercise its First Amendment Rights by not spending. The Florida governor is basically punishing Disney for its First Amendment Rights because he does not like the speech. When seen in this light, the whole episode is much more pernicious.
