It’s amazing that he was the one who cut the bad deal for Fox reportedly anywhere from 50-75 billion and yet he’s laying off 7,000 cast members to save 5.5 billion. How he is still CEO defies logic.
Isn’t this the accepted “Golden Parachute” scam of the CEO, CFO, or COO bailing out of their companies when their companies are facing financial difficulties or a downturn? The wages & salaries that would have been paid to the soon-to-be laid off 7,000 Disney employees is being secretly transferred into Bob Iger’s back pocket in order to fund his “Golden Parachute” before he leaves. The affected 7,000 Disney employees need to demand a federal investigation of Bob Iger and Disney’s inner and under the table financial dealings.
The financial issues are complex, but two main issues with Disney. They lost sight of their audience children and their families. The cost, the overly complex park reservations etc make Disney not only expensive but brings the stress that regulars once enjoyed leaving behind into the expereince of the parks. I am all for being woke, but I think the entertainment (movie, Disney plus etc) they offer now is for adults not for children and families who believe in the values of Walt Disney himself which was entertainment for the whole family at an afforadable cost. The Disney employees deserve much more I am sure. The service they provide to customers is one of the great strengths of the Disney Company.
I have to say that I am sure Walt Disney is rolling over in his grave at what his company has become! They have made it so expensive that the everyday people (who made them who they are) can not afford any part of who they are now. It’s very sad to see even the once “Greatest Place on Earth” has turned from the joy of what it was into the greedy soulless entity it is now!!
