As an Asian Man, I don’t see any reason and hope the change will NOT happen… Leave as is…

Don’t worry 1 person out of 10,000 is offended (also probably offended by portrayal of animals in animated films) so it’s destined to get changed…

As an Avid Disney goer, I regret not ever having noticed the Mulan character at any of the parks. As the mom of 2 boys, I don’t spend much of my time there waiting in line to meet Princesses. I do however have a vague recollection of walking by this Princess wondering who the hell she was though before moving on to the next ride or attraction. I’m sure that Disney’s intent was to simply show Milan in the prettiest dress they could, and since she is still wearing this dress and makeup during her big solo number, it may have seemed fitting to put the character at the park in it. However, as a fellow Asian American woman, I also understand exactly what this woman is saying. This would be the equivalent of having the characters of Cinderella in her shabby peasant clothes, or Tiana in her Waitress outfit- something Disney would never do, because they understand that the importance of their stories is showing their inner beauty, heart and courage in the result of their evolution into the true Princess that they ultimately become. Milan deserves to be properly represented as the true Warrior Princess that she becomes, even if that means she isn’t in a pretty dress or overly done makeup. This is 2023, after all, it’s time to keep it real and represent what is true. Well done. 🙏
