While it’s true that rides get re-themed on a semi-regular basis, that is NOT the reason that a LOT of people, myself included, are upset about the re-theming of Splash Mountain… IT’S THE REASONING BEHIND THE RE-THEMING THAT’S UPSETTING TO ME!!! While the ANIMATED may be features of the movie “Song of the South”, that should NOT be justification for a complete makeover. I’d venture to say that the vast majority of people that are SUPPOSEDLY “offended” by the ride have NO IDEA “WHY” they’re offended since they’ve probably never seen the movie & it’s even doubtful that they even know someone that actually has!!! Further, the deleting of the ICONIC SONG “Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah” is beyond “overkill” — it’s a wonderful, uplifting song that is sung by the Black star of the movie, James Baskett — who in their RIGHT MIND could possibly be offended by that, especially since MOST people wouldn’t have even known where the song was from until the relatively recent WOKE trend of “What Can I Invent To Be Offended By Today”!!!
Strange that Disney wants to re theme splash mountain because of what it’s based on. But are happy to promote PIRATES with movies and rides. Does anyone else see the ambiguity here or is it just me. Do pirates not offend anyone. I mean they were real upstanding members of society that did no wrong to anyone
Tokyo Disneyland has no intention of closing Splash Mountain. The Japanese don’t have the cultural issues that America does. It is one of the park’s most popular rides & the Tokyo has begun to have different rides from the park’s in America. They are rebuilding a new Space Mountain soon.
I am so irritated with Disney. Absolutely ridiculous to re-theme such an iconic ride. The “woke” mentality is ridiculous. Even more ridiculous is Disney catering to this small percentage of the population.
Disney keeps bowing down to the woke few meanwhile over 200,000 signed a petition to keep splash mountain and were ignored. They got rid of a classic and will replace it with crap.
No. Princess and the Frog is not a better movie. It’s a terrible movie that killed hand drawn animation and doesn’t belong. I look forward to the MDGA movement saving the parks and restoring their non-woke glory and I hope you woke udesirables boycott all things Disney. For every woke savage who boycotts Disney, 1000 more normal non woke fans will take their place.
The fact that most of the commenters on here are whining about “wokeness” instead of being concerned about a potentially dangerous situation at D-land shows what true fans they are.

It would take one year or less to change Disney Administration ideology if no one went…just one year going somewhere else.

No one is offended, the only offended person here is you, complaining about a Disney ride. A ride. Move on.

“Oh the ride is racist, it’s gotta go. It’s gotta be re-themed.”
When 1% woke get their way.
“Oh, it’s just a ride.”
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with the iconic Splash Mountain.
