The whole system is a fail…(a fail in guest service)
Genie+, Lightning Lane, etc, causes too much stress on what already is stressful when vacationing in WDWR.

Faithful guests of Disney, unfortunately, will flock to competitor parks or go to amusement parks within their area that are less complicated.

Yes the affordability is gone from.Disney, which is sad. We can all thank Disney+ for a big drain on monies Disney could have used to bring back the affordability of of a DianeyParks vacation.

This reaffirms my previous points that short term higher profit yields, will cost Disney more in the long run, because guests will choose to vacation, and spend$$$ elsewhere at an amusement park for less cost and stress.. Smaller profit earnings will yield bigger sustained profits for long term, because guests would keep coming back.to visit.

    Plus,
this whole iphone/samsung smartphone push is just plain stupid. Spend your whole vacation on it in the hopes you may get a reservation, at additonal costs for an attraction. Half of the vacation spent on the phone.

If Disney really wanted this to work, then it should have been implemented a system.that the resort concierge would take care of this. Disney would allow so many windows of reservations allowed by staying at WDW resort guest. If staying off property, park concierges essentially could do the same thing at guest services locations in the parks. Even if Disney set a fee in place to do so you could pay that fee right then and there at the concierge. Resorts and parks would have an alloted number of reservations set for the day per the attractions.

Disney is now a dirty overcrowded mess. Never again.

  2. It is confusing. My daughter got us passes, then they were gone, and by the time I got out my credit card, they were back again. We were group 4. That was February 8, 2023. Weird. Didn’t get to ride Rise of the Resistance February 9, broke down while we were in line.

There is no Virtual Queue for Rise of the Resistance. But Virtual Queue is so much better than Standby for these attractions. I was at Animal Kingdom multiple times during the Summer it opened and I would wait in line over 5 hours for Flight of Passage. Wish they had a viertual queue then

This is ridiculous 😂😂 we’ve been 25 plus times to Epcot this year and have gotten guardians every damn time at 7am. It’s not that complicated. The whining and bad childish behavior is ridiculous and uncalled for. I would never…

    1. Erjen

Right?? We ridden it dozens of times and never once have we not gotten a boarding group at 7am.

    2. Youre so right, I used both virtual queue and individual lightning lanes for runaway railway at disneyland a
nd they are super easy. You dont have to be tech savvy to know the system is very easy.

Doesn’t help that most Disney hotel room walls are paper thin. I’ve stayed at the Yacht club and Beach club before and anything above a whisper can be heard from your neighbors.

It’s even worse in California. 7am is also when the parking structure opens. Opening day of Mickey and Minnie’s, most people asked on live streams reported they were driving when they had to try to get the virtual. Many on the freeway.

I often wonder if Disney management have ever tried the Virtual Queue process themselves to see the practice in action. Waking up before 7am, going through the steps and being locked out at 7:00:01 and feel that frustration first hand. And then doing it in the park at 1pm only to find that your virtual queue time is at 8:57 pm when the park is closing…

On my last trip, which was this week, I found myself paying for the lightning lane to ensure that I had the opportunity to at least do it once, and once I got off the ride, booked it for 8:57pm. Talk about using every moment of the day to ride one ride.

If management had tried Genie+ and Lighting pass, next day they would removed this horrible process. It is frustrating planning a trip for a year, you to hit dozens of hurdles to get into one single ride. Our family of 4 paid for Genie+ and lighting pass and we were not able to ride guardians of the galaxy. Other park have so much value now. I’ll not come back to Disney ever, they are loosing loyal customers by drawers with these horrible initiatives.

This is exactly why I believe Universal has passed Disney in this aspect. Stay at one of the 3 premier hotels and get free unlimited express pass. And it’s still cheaper than a Disney moderate resort in most cases

I feel her pain. This whole GENIE+ didn’t work out at all for my family. It was a waste of money.

  9. Mickeymouse3

Hilarious advice…Try again at 1pm. What if you have a park hopper and want to use Genie+ for the afternoon? Can’t get into the park until 2pm, but you can try for a ressie at 1pm. What?
Just scrap the damn Genie+ thing altogether. It is NOT a good system. PERIOD!!

    1. Amanda

Good reason why Disney should raise more prices so low class like these people can’t afford to wake up a whole hotel by being rude and awful.

I was hoping they take Genie plus away and put back fast pass and the Quick plan meal back.

Park Reservations, “Genie”, “Lightning Lanes”…ALL A HUGE POS! Disney is way out of control with all of their technology failures. What ever happened to just go to the park and STAY OFF YOUR PHONE!! I disagree with some comments here. It IS complicated. I have been up at 7am to try and use a “virtual queue” and have NEVER been successful. You need a Park Reservations, can only park hop during certain hours, you need to have your phone up your A** all day just to go to a Disney Park. Well, I’m done. They can have it. It’s NOT the happiest place on earth. It’s confusing and frustrating as heck to try and enjoy a so-called vacation. Going to Disney is no vacation, that’s for sure.

We had been going every year to Disney. Got to say the whole thing was way more expensive and honestly not worth it at all. First time this year we are doing sox flags n universal. Thiers is so much easier. Disney lost my business. Sad really. Its a vacation n its too much stress trying to srt alarms refreshing waiting…n for what…nothing. or u have to pay extra…its all about money. Not gonna do it anymore. I was there when news broke of the ceo firing n bringing back the old one. Never seen employees so happy. Really hope he changes things.

Sounds like an entitled crybaby to me (especially with the cursing with kids in the room).
We just came back from our Disney trip. Attempted to get virtual line at 7AM, but was unsuccessful, so I purchased a LL ticket for a guaranteed seat. No biggie!

  14. Daniel

It was too damn complicated to me even pre-pandemic. Switch family to Universal, problem solved.

Don’t even need a phone to have a good time if you don’t want. Disney requires 6 months of prep before you get there, and then requires you to be staring at a phone screen throughout the day to not be miserable.

Just one man’s opinion. Do what you want.

  15. zara

Wow…entitled much….boo boo I can’t get what I want….another Disney brat…oh and it’s their choice to have these screaming kids that she clearly can’t cope with on a Disney holiday….I’d stay away Hun and give the rest of us some peace
