Next it will have to look at the little mermaid. I mean even I did a double take first time I heard the sea witch say “ why that little tramp!”

    1. Mike G

Not to mention she was only 16 in that movie and was hell bent on getting plowed by the Prince

      1. Gary

Ken keep hitting them like I am some of these Woke iddots need to be taught a lesson that they will never forget. Walt would never do such things. Get everyone on board hitting them until they stop!!

        1. Jay Gamble

What do you think “woke” means?

        2. Jack Dis

All “Woke” means is inclusive and not offensive, racist or bigoted.

I know, I know, such high demands we all have put on you, not letting you just be an ugly ass whenever you want… tsk. Poor snowflake.

          1. Pete0835

No, it means far more than that. It means erasing parts of history that might make anyone uncomfortable. Deleting characters that even the tiniest group of permanently offended individuals might find offensive in some way never intended by their creator. It means trying to produce a sanitized version of reality that simply isn’t real.

          2. Shelly Catron

You are absolutely correct. But I trouble understanding why woke people are content to away with anything from our culture’s history but try their best to bring it back in the in the form of equity that only benefits a few.
History is history . Civilizations learn from historyto correct their mistakes as the USA has done.

          3. Walt

hahahaha – wow you are so deceived. And you know what – you’re comment is offensive to ME so you need to be canceled. ANYTHING is offensive to someone. So no its not about what is offensive- its about what is offensive to YOU. Well guess what – you’re not that important get over yourself

          4. Pete

Sadly, no it doesn’t. It’s pretending to be inclusive and only permitting approved thoughts and behaviors that are not necessarily even appropriate but using inclusiveness as a cover for controlling others to one point of view.

          5. Sparky

That’s Total garbage! The ” woke” are nothing but whiny weak babies that can’t stand anything that doesn’t highlight them . Disney is finding this out the hard way . So keep your sarcasm to you and yours !

          6. Bobb

Nah, woke now means this. “Born with stick up ass and is perpetually offended by everything they see”.

      2. Jack Dis

“Going black”? Because they are removing the racism and being inclusive?

And the problem there is… what? Oooooh. I see. You have a problem with black people. Gotcha.

        Nobody likes you, Asshole.

        1. Maybe he didn’t mean going black as in r a c e. He may have meant “on the screen”, as in, being turned off.

      3. Donna

More idiocy from Disney! They’re ruining everything with all this diversity and inclusivity crap. Just leave things alone, you’re making mountains out of molehills!

        1. Bert

          Nothing stays the same. Nothing.

      4. Southernboisb

What else is Disney going to erase from their history?

      5. evb

That said, if it was a 16 year old boy being groomed, the pedo cast members at WDW would demand it be front & center…

      6. Pete

Nah they probably won’t worry about that with all the grooming activity they keep endorsing.

      7. Larry

They gotta make a way for the new Balenciaga Baal characters.

      8. Will

16 years old and hell bent on getting plowed by the prince? That’s a problem but shows like teen moms, or Bachelorette is ok? Come on.

    2. They took out 20,000 leads out of the sea one of my favorite stories and the attraction. And they’re taking out a lot of stuff in Walt Disney World that I grew up with. Including the Mars missing which would have been popular now if they upgraded the Mark’s mission. They turn it in some Toy Story stuff for whatever it’s supposed to be now. Because I was planning to go to Walt Disney World and see these things. I remember when I was younger with my family. I don’t know why it’s become a diversity issue and things like this are supposed to be a message to everybody it’s a place to have fun. And not take literally everything away. They’re also probably going to dissect It’s a Small World my sister’s favorite place when she was growing up was a little girl. I just don’t know what to say about this except what I said before.

  2. Ken

Walt wouldn’t be part of the woke crowd. He would laugh at it like I do. Sad and pathetic people who just look for stuff to be offended by.

    1. WJ

You mean the man who wouldn’t let male employees have facial hair or hair to their shoulders because the appearance
Might offend the guests he was trying to appeal to? Sure you keep telling yourself that. Might be good to have an idea who Walt
Really was before deciding what he would or wouldn’t do in this current age.

      1. Bk

Like most customer service places you mean? Your comment makes zero sense

      2. Southernboisb

        “WJ
You mean the man who wouldn’t let male employees have facial hair or hair to their shoulders because the appearance”

WHAT does facial hair or longer hair have to do with this? I notice how you didn’t mention females can’t wear colired nail polish.

        1. Just another snowflake that repeats anything the left woke says about Ron DeSantis without getting the facts. Go to mommy.

          1. Southernboisb

            “Mike
Just another snowflake that repeats anything the left woke says about Ron DeSantis without getting the facts. Go to mommy.”

Just another on the Right who thinks we should all believe & act like our parents instead of having a mind & voice of our own.

    2. Bk

90% of those people are also on welfare lol, time and money well spent I guess.

      1. Douglas Moss

Aren’t these the same people who are currently in hysterics over Ron DeSantis “banning offensive books”?

        1. Southernboisb

          “Douglas Moss
Aren’t these the same people who are currently in hysterics over Ron DeSantis “banning offensive books”?”

Offensive to who – Ron Desantis? Just like the whole AP courses & school subject matter he wants to remove…so everybody thinks like him?

          1. Pete0835

There was a news clip today of a sixth grader reading from a book he obtained in his school library. He is at a school board meeting with his father, reading the material aloud to make a point. It depicts a homosexual encounter between two males, including use of the F word. in a school library in a public school. Available for checkout by a sixth grader. The kid says when he checked out the book, the school librarian offered to also let him have the graphic novel version.

You believe such material should be available to sixth graders? In most parts of the country, an adult, handing such material to a child of that age, would be guilty of a crime. But it’s OK because it’s a school library? Please explain.

          2. Southernboisb

First of all, define “encounter”. As to the word, have you heard the language of some youth? Their vocabulary is more “colorful” than adults. Who’s to blame for that?

There are many different types of people in this world & to not acknowledge that but & any contibutions or struggles they’ve experienced is wrong.

Think about it, for somebody to say they’re wrong for “abc…xyz”, another can say THAT person is wrong for “abc…xyz”.

It’s like suing the radio station for playing a song when you could have simply changed the channel.

      2. Jack Dis

“Those people” – you mean the ones springing for Disneyland?

My dude, this is not 1897. Black people in general make more than you do, I’ll bet money on it, Sparky.

Seriously, what kinda Confederate hooch are you wacked on, lol?

      3. Joe

Reading these comments is so funny. Like any of this will matter in the next 2 years when Russia starts dropping warheads while China backs them up. We will be fighting for food instead of cultural appropriations.

    3. Jack Dis

This may come as a shock to you, but Walt exactly WOULD have been. All the decisions he made back then were about respecting the status quo and making Disney “family friendly” and “Socially acceptable” for the times.

The times changed there guy, and you can bet Walt Disney, the businessman first and foremost, would have changed with them, and in fact, in many instances, worked towards that, so really, the only thing you are saying her is, you hate black people.

I mean, if you act offensively, people are in fact going to be offended, asshole, that’s how being human works. Try to keep up.

      1. Howard

Not really. He catered to the majority not the minority.

  3. Excuse me Disney what the hell why did you have to ban characters from Walt Disney’s history if I were you do you know what I will do if I were you. I would refix Disney back the way it was, you have rights under the federal court of law in Florida to thus “ban” Walt Elias Disney’s legacy of a park if I were you and right now fix it now or face many comments concerning you

    1. nope

      bro.. what?

  4. Mason

Who else is tired of the Disney Cultural Revolution?

    1. Walt

So Disney is banning content and the COMMUNIST Chinese Government is banning content. Seems we know who Disney is taking after – just a dictator ship that killed (oh let’s low ball the estimate) 60 million of its own citizens in the cultural revolution.

      1. Well I guess when you have a billion or over a billion people what’s a hundred million dead I wonder if Disney will take the same stance

      2. Brenda

Disney is banning THEIR OWN content. Their choice. If you already own it they aren’t demanding you destroy it. That is your choice. If you wrote it, it was their characters. Again their choice.
What the Chinese are doing is removing choice from things they don’t own. But their country. As long as those who live there allow it, it’s their choice.
Please note the word is choice.

        1. MV

“Their choice”? In reference to COMMUNIST CHINA???? You have a lot to learn when it comes to communism.

  5. Patti

So done with Disney. I read this for my daily eye roll.

    1. So if Scrooge McDuck was a villain in those books then doesn’t that imply that running them off their land was bad? Wouldn’t you think Disney would want to embrace that message?

      1. Pat

I think they ran African Americans off the land.

  6. Leo

How can you claim you want to expand your deversity and inclusion by banning anything.

    1. Pat

No one wants to deal with hate or wrong doing. However Spalsh wasn’t closed for the movie it was Walt’s idea to move along with the future and the ride itself was in need of tons of repairs.
      Hate must not win

      1. Bob K.

If disney can spend Millions in resort up grade’s , why can’t they do the same to Spalsh ? how many ride’s over the last 5 to 10 yrs got redone or up graded.

      2. Sharon

Then why didn’t Disney Company make the necessary repairs? They’ve been planning on closing Splash and that’s why they let it fall apart. Needing repairs was just a feeble excuse!

      3. Donna

Oh shut up with this garbage.

        1. Donna

Sorry this was supposed to be to “jack dis”. The woke movement is destroying our country and it’s infuriating.

  7. Rich

I find it ironic how some groups claim to be for tolerance and acceptance by refusing to tolerate or accept anyone who doesn’t think the way they think.

    1. nope

what you’ve identified is the paradox of tolerance.

      tolerance must not tolerate intolerance.

  8. Jamie

This is even more reason I sold my Disney gift cards. I had almost $700 worth I got for Christmas & Birthdays since the 2018 trip I took. Then for 2 years from 2018-2020, I got numerous cards for a future visit. Sold all of them within the last year because I won’t go back to the garbage they are doing. It’s not Disney World, it’s Disney Woke. Bowing down for every activist who complain about everything is ridiculous

    1. Amy

I took a trip to D’land with some of my kids in 2018. Over an hour just to get to the SECOND SECURITY CHECKPOINT??? And then there were so many people that it was hard to walk at times. My youngest ended up having an anxiety attack. Abusively increased prices, armed security checkpoints with metal detectors, and now going after things from our childhood? No wonder Michael Eisner stepped down years ago. He saw where things were headed and couldn’t stop it. Now, Disney is just another corporate machine.

      1. RB

I really could care less. I haven’t been able to afford Disneyworld for years.

    2. Brenda

If you meant that you sold them for $.01 on the dollar right?

      1. Carol drake

Hunchback of notre Dame there is barely and reference now and there is absolutely no trace of the hunchback of notre Dame train tour that they ran in the 1990s. We took the kids, they loved it. Imagine the effects of walking into a carriage and the entire interior of the cathedral is before you. I would like to know what they did with that train. I still have the tickets from the tour and an official cast member coat for that tour which I was given by a neighbour.

    3. Polly

      You won’t be missed!!

    4. Katflwr

      Agreed!!!

  9. Mike C

    Hahahaha
    Thank you, WOKE crowd!!!
The vocal minority, wins over the Happy Majority
A simple storybook is censored. Starting to remind you of a place that started WW ll

    1. nope

who was vocal about scrooge mcduck books? this is choice disney made all on their own.

  10. I remember seeing song of the south as a child and loving it. The takes were funny and had a moral. I also much later read the tales of Uncle Remus and found them to be full of positive character and morals. A few years back i actually found advd copy to purchase. I did this because i knew it would get banned and i wanted my little grandbabies to get to see the colorful pictures, hear the story and sing along.. erasing history doesn’t change that it happened it just takes away the chance to be taught about it and why it impacted as it did

    1. Katflwr

Exactly. History happened, it can not and should not be erased. Someone, somewhere, will always be offended by something. Thick skin is needed in this life and this world has gone too soft.

  11. Carol drake

  12. Scott

And I thought the woke culture didn’t like banning books.

  13. Paul

Disney has begun its death spiral. Disney World Lost its high and mighty status. Now they must follow society rules. Disney Land is great if you wade through the garbage and homeless camps. I for one do not support, purchase, or otherwise use Disney products. as far as I care, RIP Disney

    1. Disney is NOT dead, if you strike them, that they will come back more powerful than ever before!

  14. Cara

Oh yeah that… he chased off africans from his land… that’s bad… yeah no.

  15. Question Everything

When I look at what some of these corporations do I often question their motives. Were people actually offended and bringing these issues to Disney’s attention, or does Disney want to make money by creating a stir? In my opinion I sometimes feel like companies try to pretend that they’re actually inclusive when really it’s just a money grab. And I’m not saying that company should not be inclusive because they absolutely should, but if it’s only being done to line their pockets then that’s not right. Disney is excellent at Marketing. If they truly cared about what people feel then they would make the changes without a huge media splash. Again, just my opinion.

  16. Gennie Ballard

    Craziness.

  17. J

It will always be funny to hear Disney crowing about diversity and tolerance, while suckling at the teat of Chinese censorship and filming “Mulan” in the province where the Chinese government is committing genocide against Uyghur Muslims literally as we speak.

    1. That was oNLY 78 seconds of footage! That’s NOT the whole movie!

  18. Jeremiah

How is it “inclusion” if you are Excluding people? If everything is offensive, then nothing is offensive.
    This is so ridiculous.
This week was our Last trip to Disney(unless they straighten up their act). We had to go with our daughter’s band. No more. More rides were broken than working, dirty park, dirty hotels/resorts, too expensive, and a few other issues.

We are also unsubscribbed from Disney Plus. Too much Woke content and racial division. It is sad, because there are a lot of other shows on there that will be forced to suffer as more and more people flee the services due to the actions of a few.
Even the Cast Members at DW, of all ages, are fed up with this being forced upon them.

    1. Bob

Bye, no one will miss you.

  19. M kelleher

I will not go to Disney with its political agenda and woke attuned I am gay and thay. Are gay ING things up way to much and Katherine Kennedy has ruined several movies its time to change or I am out and going to universal ect

  20. Most of the comments here— from B O T H sides— are offensive. How in the world are they getting posted? All I really want to know is why bother with changing an entire beloved thing when you can perhaps just change the song? I know lots and lots and lots of Disney, yet I can’t recall the Song of the South whatsoever. It’s like the confederate monument debate. Why spend a million dollars removing a beautiful piece of art when you can simply change the tribute plaque. I know that won’t work in every case, but it certainly will work for most. Leave the statue/monument and change the Tribute— in ten years, maybe less!, no one will know the difference.

  21. Abby

I really think that the Disney Company, and other people for that matter, have really lost their minds! If someone doesn’t like something then just don’t read, watch, listen to, or ride the rides, because there are others who do enjoy certain things!
I got to see Song of the South at Fort Wilderness once and I wished that I could have had another opportunity to see it!

  22. Dwhit

Which is why that after 25 years I will not be renewing my annual
    Pass.

  23. Walt

    This is what fascism does…

  24. Maria

All of these liberals and inclusion and everything need to stop. For crying out loud a disney tour guide male dressed Asa woman skirt and all. Thank God Walt is dead even though I wish Disney family still had a say in the disgust they are allowing to be shared in a family park. Disgusting

  25. Jay

Why is it that so many people who talk a good game about “inclusiveness” are so quick to *exclude* things in the name of inclusiveness?

  26. Joe Dirt

    Just go to Universal.

    1. MV

Better yet, go to Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, TN and avoid altogether those theme parks altogether.

  27. I wish all the commenters would shut up and accept that they are NOT in the 20th century, anymore, this is the 21st century, where EVERYTHING WOKE should be accepted!

    1. MV

      Never. We won’t shut up.

  28. Hotrod4276

If one of the banned stories has a “witch doctor”, should “The Princess and the Frog”, and therefore Tiana’s Bayou Adventure be reviewed/blocked? Dr. Faciliar is the Shadow Man/Voodoo Man/Witch Doctor. Mama Odie is the Voodoo Queen of the Bayou.

  29. Robert

This is absolutely mental and disgusting tbh

  30. Penny

Wow. Even a Disney post can turn into a political divide. That’s sad.
I’m against banning anything, it’s all part of our history. Song of the South is a reflection of what this country went through in the age it is set.
Scrooge is iconic, and realism told in a way kids can understand. It’s up to parents to decide if they want their kids exposed to it.
Yes, history can be repeated if we avoid learning about it.
Freedom of choice, don’t like it, avoid it. It’s your choice what you want your kids to learn.

    1. shawn karter

No one is banning things here.

A private company has made changes to how its intellectual property is used publicly. That’s it. Grow the f’ up.

      1. Dionne

Well, some books have been banned. Talking about gender identity has been banned. Teaching black history has been banned. What else…?

  31. jake

    fahrenheit 451

  32. Ted

Florida should be surgically removed from the US and left with its ignorant citizens and little authoritarian governor to sink into the ocean. Florida is what happens when too many meth addicts and sex offenders gather in one place. Florida is the embarrassing old uncle who refuses to die. Florida is not America.
