Bunch of whiners. Inconvenience is inhumane? Grow up.

easy said when you weren’t in that seat when you paid money like that not expect to wait an hour and it broke down ride have a blessed day

    2. Aaron

For people with anxiety issues and are prone to panic attacks, something like that can feel like torture

  2. Pat

Give me a break, they should be happy they weren’t hanging upside down for an hour. Looks like they were sitting in a seat.

10 fast passes is exactly what will make up for lost time

      1. faackanders2

10 express passes will make up for an hour delay!

When we took our kids last year for spring break. The ride breaking down isn’t nothing. We was inside waiting to get on the ride and whole waiting the air condition went out. We had been standing inside for a an hour till the air was repaired.

Considering, the express passes they give out for these things usually can be used on ANY ride, not only those that accept express normally, I’d gladly sit there for an hour then go over to IoA and ride Hagrid’s and Velocicoaster over and over

    1. Steph

Not necessarily. We were given a yellow express for transformers breaking, not valid on Hagrids or Velocicoaster

    2. Faith

Velocicoaster and hagrids don’t accept fast passes 😂

Everyone commenting are also a bunch of crybabys.

      2. Rodger

Hagrids only accepts the red passes.

There should be a time limit they can trap you in a room? It seems like if they can’t fix it in even 30 minutes they should let you out? Asking someone to sit for an hour is definitely unreasonable. These people were NOT in an escape room. And even escape rooms have access to bathrooms.

    1. John

This is nothing. Last time I went flew to Orlando. Broke plane as soon as we boarded…wouldn’t let us off. Finally switched planes after 4 hours. These people are cry babies.

Next time the guests should collectively close their eyes and meditate like monks. Like Jedis. That will get the staff to do their own videos of the occurrence.

    1. Lee

Ya, it can be a long wait for a bathroom when you wait in line for over an hour then get trapped on the ride for an hour. I might panic if I had to understandably use the bathroom too!

      1. Robert Munes

I wasn’t saying they should meditate despite conditions like needing restrooms, as a new norm. I mean as an odd flash mob occurrence. I shoulda been specific with that.

  7. Not a sheep

Universal should give them all a $5 Publix gift card so they can go to the store and buy a little backbone.

An hour is a bit excessive but inhumane LOL, entitled

I was in line for this ride at the time and was next to go on… FIRST the ride as stopped because an unruly guest climbed out of the bar restraint and stood up on the ride.

The ride paused and all cars were cycled as guests were removed one car at a time.

Before they could get the ride going, they always run a safety cycle of empty cars. During this empty cycle (all ride guests were already removed) the brakes failed at the launch area. Then they shut down the ride. The guests were all vacated after about 25-30mns max.

You can blame the unruly guest for the ride shutdown, but the team handled everything else excellently. The guests panicking have no one to blame but their own patience.

This is exactly what happened to us. A guest disregarded the rule to stay in the seat. Consequently they had to reset the whole ride. This included getting everyone off safely, resetting, then reloading. It was annoying but not Universal’s fault.

A few years ago while at the Volcano Bay I got trapped in a water ride in a very dangerous area, I yelled for help as we were terrified of being rammed, instead of helping us they came with the sheriff to evict us from the park. A ridiculous situation, and after much arguing at the costumer service they added 2 days with some quick queue to our pass…
For a better context, this was a few months after a young girl got beheaded at a different Waterpark in Kansas.

I live in Orlando, I’ll never go back to Universal Again….

Rides break down. Has COVID replaced sanity in the brains of human beings. What’s going on in my country man? I was in Disney a few weeks ago and this girl acted like a Savage when I simply said excuse me because she was blocking the entrance.

The video and comments crack me up. I almost drowned at the bottom of a water slide once because of poor safety measures (got stuck under the current that went straight down, and I was a strong swimmer) and the lifeguard did nothing. My dad had to jump in to pull me out. I was 7.

Then at 16 I got stuck on Space Mountain in the dark for 3 hours. There was no way out of the car or walking through the ride to leave.

There was also Test Track that my dad and I did have to walk through.

Did I complain about any of this? Nope. I still go to the parks too. I consider myself lucky compared to people who have gotten hurt or died on rides.

    1. faackanders2

They turn on lights on ride when space mountain breaks down. They do not leave you in the dark scared. You may have to wait for ride in front of you (or parrallel track) finishes.

  12. Steve E

It’s disgusting that rides breaking down is considered normal in 2023. So called space age technology is too easily reduced to the ’77 Blackout.

  13. Jose

Lol lost of time??? 10 Express passes in Universal Studios. Are they kidding me. Let me sit for an hour stuck in the ride for 10 Express passes. I have waited in line for 2 hours to get in the transformer ride.

  14. Rachel

What a bunch of entitlement and whiners. I have no sympathy ride breakdowns are par for the course at a theme park for the day. Stay home if you are so fragile snowflakes

  15. ZeonNewtype

At least they weren’t trapped on Its A Small World, where the music is on a never ending loop. 😆 Seriously. Until they’ve had to listen to the same song on loop that long, they don’t know the meaning of the word “Inhumane”.

    1. Joyce

I feel this. I lived this. We got stuck on that ride for about 30 min one time. It scarred me for life. When anyone starts in on that stupid song, I’m the one sneering along mockingly. Ugh.

We also got stuck on Splash Mountain (the OG one in CA that has the logs). The end of the log was hanging out over the edge of the big drop and it just stopped right there. We were up there for about 20 min before we heard a recording along is to stay seated and then another 10 goes by before someone came to help us out. Turns out someone had jacked up the rabbit at the end of the ride, in the chair? All torn up. Some people suck.

But we were 3 kids and it wasn’t a big deal. Anyone calling this “inhumane” has never actually experienced something inhumane before, I think.

  16. Jo

What a bunch of ninnies. Complaining about getting stuck on a ride shows just how privileged these people think they are. It’s always a risk. If you don’t want to accept the risk, then don’t go.

  17. I sat on Hagrids for 30 minutes on this past Friday Jan 13th for a break down and got a red pass to use later, it was perfect except it broke down again while riding. Other rides also broke down and people were given yellow express passes but if you already had the unlimited express pass you got nothing. Maybe something other than express passes should be provided.
