No freebies from these tight wads!!! Anything that used to be good is gone. No perks staying at Disney except for waiting 30-45 minutes for a bus. Don’t do the scavenger hunt anymore, teach them a lesson.
I have gone to Disney parks for years! Have always loved it until recently. Always crowded (obviously people still like going), has gotten very expensive for what you get. Freebies are all slowly being taken away. It is so sad that my grandkids can’t enjoy it the way I did over the years. I know people are going to be mad and say things like more room for us and if you don’t like it don’t go. I guess that’s just what I will do.
I keep reading more and more how the Disney Parks have become just awful to visit lately. I’ve also never been a fan of VIP passes or fast passes except for disabled/elderly/special needs guests. They should eliminate special passes altogether. Period.
15 minutes is all a Disney treasure hunt should be. Spend a fortune to get your family through the gate to ride the rides, then your kid get sucked into this and you waste half your day. Steer your them away from this crap.
You can say it costs a penny or two, but the fast pass mechanism (by any name you call it) is all electronic now. This penny or two slip of paper is based on the legacy system. Are employees going to continue to be trained on this paper that is only a penny or two? What are they going to do with it? Trust every slip they’re handed? Then, throw it away? What happens if people start making fakes? At some point, when you re-platform an entire system, you just have to let the old ways go. Maybe they could have created some unique QR-code cards that, when scanned, gives an extra skip of the line in the app than one would normally get. It would also have to enforce a one-time-use mechanism. But, it still would have involved coding that exception, printing a bunch of cards, then handing the support needed when visitors aren’t sure what to do within the app. So, no doubt that cost was weighed against having souvenir cards and they decided the souvenirs could be implemented sooner and with fewer complications. It’s not always just about the cost of the materials.

Wait, what?!? We have always done the treasure hunt and have never gotten any prize! In fact, one year, we did every single map!
