There are 2 types of the Mission Space Ride. You should actually know what you can and cannot endure in the attractions. You have no one to blame but yourself. Ride the mild version. I have Asthma & AFIB. I know enough not to ride the intense version. The mild version I find great just not as intense as the stronger version.

The mission to Mars was great.. I still can’t understand how my cheeks were being pushed to my ears on lift off.. very clever how they do that.. would definitely be doing that again..

We were there years ago (back in the Fast Pass era), and since my father in law was a WWII and Korean War vet (and POW) and “somewhat” elderly, he and my MIL had no desire to ride, we got to ride twice back to back. The only way I could figure it works is that it essentially has to be a centrifuge that can tilt forward and backward. We loved it, although the second ride was a bit rough. Not because of the ride itself, but because one lady crapped her pants which made the “capsule” a tad difficult to withstand.

The Mars ride definitely claustrophobic and nauseating. I felt rough the rest of the day. Never again.

I went lot of times in the green mission without any problems. Until I read someone’s experience regarding it as very claustrofobic. And then, I couldn’t do it anymore. The last time, I banged the doors so hard that they came to get me out. Now I dont even attemp to go on it. The worst moment is when the panel comes down and the ride doesn’t start.

I fully agree with response. First, YOU, chose the intense ride. No one forced you or your husband to get on and u did, despite the warnings. I resent the fact that you are posting that you didn’t like the ride. Too bad! I rode both and loved the more intense version. One of my favorite rides at Disney.

    1. Aaron

      Dang have some sympathy

    2. Karlie

Yup nobody forced me to ride it and I did anyway thinking I’d be fine! If I want to make a video of myself dramatically ranting about a terrifying ride, so be it. Pretty sure I made it clear I was in the wrong, if you had actually watched the video maybe you would’ve heard that! I’m sorry you’re so offended over someone sharing an experience that you happen to have a different opinion on!

I rode that ride about 10 years ago. Made me feel same way. Never riding it again.

    1. Steve

I rode both. And enjoyed both. I have high blood pressure, a bad back, arthritis, a pacermaker and survived a stroke. Yes the orange mission is intense but that’s what makes it fun!! Fully intend to do it again when i go back.

      1. Aaron

Uh.. you probably shouldn’t be riding that

  6. Tim

The one ride I don’t do at Disney anymore. Claustrophobic and nausea inducing 🤢

  7. Chris

I used to love this ride. Flew airplanes for a living and love Gs. I can’t ride it anymore though after a similar experience where the ride didn’t start for an extended period of time after strapping in. The video went on loop and I went into panic mode with no clear human telling us what was going on.

This sort of delay is becoming common and Disney really needs to have better communication. I’ve had similar happen on Flight of Passage. At least last time we got a clear operator talking to us instead of a computer loop.

  8. Michael

To each their own, but this 40+ kid at heart would ride the intense “orange” version over and over. I didn’t find it nearly intense as say a roller coaster.

  9. Brett

Me, being 60+, loved this ride. Best ever. However, this shows, people don’t listen or heed warnings and then complain. So sad. So, one person said they thought they were going to die. Wasn’t the first and won’t be the last.

    1. Mary

I went on the first day it opened. It warned against pregnancy, back problems and heart disease. I had high blood pressure which was controlled by medications. I asked the attendant who looked around 60 if heart disease also meant HBP as if so I wasn’t going on. I also asked about G forces and he said there weren’t any. He said no it would be fine. No it wasn’t. When I got off I could barely walk and my head felt like it was going to burst. I had to lay down on a bench outside the ride for almost an hour afterwards to recover. It wasn’t until people with HPB had problems without warnings that it was added to the caution list. I was a season pass holder for over 20 years. I told everyone I knew with HBP to NOT go on that ride.

Seriously not being mean here but this your own fault and yours alone. When Disney tells you a ride is intense, believe them please. This ride is amazing and just about my favorite ride and I would be so ticked and annoyed if this ride closed due to the younger generation not listening to the warnings.

    1. Karlie

How do you define “younger generation” 🤔 and I feel like I made it VERY clear that it was indeed my fault. I’ve never had issues with rollercoasters so I thought I would be okay. – Signed, the one who made the TikTok🤪

I was in the late 60”s when I went on Mission Orange. It truly made me feel like I was experiencing a little of what astronauts must go through. It was great BUT I did have an upset stomach for several hours afterward. Nobody to blame but myself!

  12. Elizabeth

This ride has warnings, heed them. You didn’t die, you’re totally fine, don’t ride it again. It was amazing and I loved it. I would ride it 100 more times, but yeah, it isn’t for everyone. They could be clearer on the warning that the ride makes you feel the g force and that it can be very claustrophobic and cause a lot of motion sickness. The barf bags on the ride should be a good indicator of what you’re about to experience 😅

    1. Steve

      There were barf bags?

  13. Tia

I hated this ride so much. I JUST barely managed to suppress the urge to Puke. Yes I rode the orange version and True – there are lots of warnings on your way to the ride. I’m just shocked that it’s installed at Disney period. So freaking awful.

  14. Sarah

I will try anything once. Will be crossing off Astronaut as a career choice. The ride definitely spells out the risks of riding.

  15. Rolled it few years ago was not fun. Your whole face gets sucked in as soon as we landed on Mars the first thing out of my mouth was I sure hope we don’t have to go back to earth. My husband and I both got off and had to sit down for a while we were both not feeling good at all never wrote it again.

  16. LaShanna Brooks

I remember riding like 50 times. Best ride ever plus for I liked it because it was air conditioned. The G force will get you first but the graphics on the ride was amazing. Would I ride again? Yes I would

  17. Bruce

I felt a little crook after going on the orange ride, but still a great experience. But nowhere near as sick as after Cosmic Rewind. That one is puke-o-rama..one time only.

  18. John Jones

The only ride at Disney World that ever made me sick. Will never ride it again. Ruined the rest of my visit to EPCOT.

  19. Richard

Have ridden both several times. Licensed private pilot with all sorts of “upsets” during additional training for recovery from unusual attitudes, and can truthfully say the orange ride is a killer. Do not recommend for children or adults who are not prepared to be “beat” to near death!!!

  20. Jeremy

Love it! I’ve ridden it back to back 4 times and would have gone for more but had dinner reservations to get to.
Can’t help it if people can’t listen or read the AMPLE warnings before you even get in the ride and then complain. Life must be so difficult for them to navigate. Sadly I can only ride Guardians twice a day if I get in the virtual queue and purchase individual lightning lane or I’d ride it more. Already ridden both dozens of times now and continue to every trip to EPCOT.

  21. Jen

Mission Space (orange version) is one of my favorite rides at Disney. If someone isn’t sure of whether a ride is for them, they should ask a cast member about the ride’s intensity.

  22. Spacehog

    What?!..
I rode both the mild and more intense version with my son age 11 and my daughter age 9 and all 3 of us liked it. As for the wimpy version, my son said “Neat but lame” and my daughter said “OK, but it didn’t do anything fun”. After we went on the ‘better one’ (as per all 3 of us), all I heard later was “Yay!” and “Wheeee!” (and “Cool” from me).

  23. Michael Pye

Disney should replace this ride with another Horizons type ride!!!!

Gotta admit the first time i was a bit freaked out. I got back on the horse again on a separate trip. I havent done it for years though it seems the older i get the more susceptible to motion sickness i get… 62. I do everything else . I wait outside for my wife now… wuss iguess but its beats feeling like crap for the next hour. just sayin’…

  26. Aaron

Oh shush. Some people just misjudge what they can take

  27. Ed

Sounds like someone just likes to complain. Cry me a river people like this are the reason why we have warning labels on everything.

  28. Lanie

I rode this ride on both Green and Orange. I’m claustrophobic and have back problems and didn’t have any issues with the Orange, I actually prefer it over the Green. Some people just can’t take certain rides and there’s nothing wrong with that, but you should definitely know your body’s limits before just thinking you can do an intense ride like that.

  29. Lorenda

It just sounds like no school is looking for attention and is overly dramatic. There have been trying to I brought on before when I’ve gone off I thought that I couldn’t believe I did that and I would never do it again but just cuz I didn’t like it doesn’t mean thousands of other people don’t. I can’t believe this has made it to you a major story like this. Just don’t go on that ride again simple as that

    1. Karlie

I can’t believe people take this video of me being overly dramatic sooooo seriously. Ride it if you want I literally don’t care. I just made the video, not sure why it made it into an article that I had no idea about until someone told me.

  30. Karlie

This is literally my video😬 do people not usually ask before using someone’s video in an article?

  31. Karlie

This was my video. Plot twist I can’t read warnings in either language so sorry /:
