Disney’s 5th park will open with 5 rides like they done with Studios and Animal Kingdom. What a disgrace. Universal’s Epic will have 3 rides per land so easily over 15 rides in the park. Disney cannot beat Universal at this trajectory.
I doubt there’ll be a new park from Disney (a full theme park or a even a smaller park like a water park) for at least twenty years. They don’t have the wherewithal to create their own version of a cutting-edge immersive IP park like Epic Universe.
They’re sclerotic and incapable of offering anything except a cloned attraction every five years or so.
IF they somehow build a second park in Shanghai, it’s just going to be a rehash of one of their current park concepts.
How many Mainstreet USAs are there?
How many Fantasylands are there?
How many Tomorrowlands are there?
How many Frontierlands are there?
How many Adventurelands are there?
How many Hollywood Boulevards are there?
How many Batus are there?
Every single thing Disney does is copied to nearly every park at least once. The only original offerings Disney have are Epcot and Disney Sea.

Got to love uneducated people…says Disney opens up “cloned rides” while praising Epic Universe which is building the 3rd version of a cloned land

The issue isn’t that it’s cloned. The issue is that it takes FIVE YEARS for Disney to build a clone of an existing ride (e.g., Tron).
Of course clones abound: it makes perfect economic sense. I don’t fault either Disney or Universal for cloning rides and/or entire lands.
But to take half a decade to build a virtual copy of something already built elsewhere. That’s just screams “sclerotic.”
