This isn’t new. WDW did this in 2000 for the celebration. My name tag said Mary Poppins.

  2. If I were an employee, mine would say Boba Fett.

Either way, it’s a nice way to personally connect with cast members. I had spent some time in Bari, Italy, and had a lovely conversation with a cast member from there once when I was at Epcot. How cool to be able to do the same with a cast member who likes my fav character.

    This is hardly unprecedented.

Not new. In 2022 they also celebrated 100 years and my name tag had my favorite memory- Disney cruise line- below my name

I don’t have an issue with this change per se but I believe the hometown being on there is a terrific conversation starter. I have had many great convos with CMs about where they are from. Million dollar question…why can’t they do both?

I like that you can connect via your fav character but love seeing where people are from. One yr our waiter at Prime Time was from our hometown and we had a great conversation about the mutual people we knew.

You know there will be that one black sheep cast member that says Harry Potter …

Being an ex cast member I don’t like the change. I’m proud of where I come from and that was important to me when I earned my ears!!

I love seeing where the cast members are from. It’s a conversation starter and makes you feel like home

The favorite character had to come from a list and if your favorite wasn’t on the list you were made to pick a different one. My favorite, Elliot from Pete’s Dragon wasn’t a choice.

This is most definitely not unprecedented. I worked for Disney from 2005-2011 in the stores and we had name tags that said who our favorite character was. Proud to say I still have mine and its framed.

I think it’s great to have the location where they’re from like comments have been made it’s a great conversation starter bring it back

I am so disappointed in where the Disney company is going. Disney has always been about family. We always loved seeing the different people from all over the world. It always gave me places to dream about traveling to.

How the heck is Stitch the most popular?!?!

  16. My sis just retired and I know she would’ve chosen Dumbo. One of the most unsung characters! Mine would be Tinkerbelle. We both know we have big buttts! (Smiles!) Or Crush. (Heart Beats here) I see no problem with the change. Seems like a lot of fun!~~P.S. I saw the new fountains at the Castle and they are a wonderful new touch! I hope they stay!
