MK closed early yesterday for a service celebration for Cast Members.

    1. Nadine

      A very well deserved party!

  2. Sandi Boyd

They closed for a well deserved celebration of cast members. This is a yearly a event to celebrate 10 or more years of service. Respect the people who make your vacation magical.

    1. As long as guests knew before purchasing a ticket AND making reservations for a park that had park times posted. While cast members certainly deserves being celebrated, Disney should be transparent!

I found out the day of. After traveling 3k km for our first visit there. No fireworks for us.

        1. Nick

It’s been posted and planned for months.

          1. Hc LABROCK

It was not posted until recently.

At Disneyland Anaheim they were closing early on the 31st for the start of Sweetheart Day’s, unless of course you bought that special pass. Just spent 3 days there with my son. First time back in 5 years. Kudos for all the new attractions.

      2. Daniger

They are very transparent. Hours are posted months in advance via their app, Google, their websites, their internal TV channel, posted signs on property… you name it, it’s there. The Guest needs to do their research before making the purchase.

I travel with my family from illinois , make reservation to the park never saw the early closing because they didn’t let us know when we buy our tickets

Top Secret. Public does not need to know until all paid admissions are in.

  4. Bob

Thomas, no is forcing anyone to leave early. The park hours are as advertised. I’m sure you also whine when you want a hamburger from McDonald and they are closed because they forced you to eat earlier.

You are a smartelic and your post should be deleated, like mine will be.

  5. Just wondering, if a person purchased a ticket and made park reservations only to find out last minute Disney changed closing to an earlier time, does Disney make good on the ticket since the guest originally planned on spending a full day in said park? For example, I purchase a ticket for Magic kingdom with park hours from 8 am to 10 pm. Then day of I find out Disney decides to close the park at 4:30. I’m no longer able to take advantage of spending a full day in MK.
I would not be happy as I did not get what I paid for.
Then what? Will Disney comp for the lost hours?

    1. Kathy

No. Happened to us a few years ago. Nada

    2. Smitty

It wasn’t a last minute change the early close park hours have been posted at least 3 months in advance. I was booking a reservation back in November and saw the early closing hours so decided to do a different park. If people would make the effort to read before they blindly book the answer is usually there.

    3. Nadine

All about me, right? All those who bring the magic don’t deserve anything?

    4. Nick

I was in management for ten years there, if it was last minute we would compensate. This event has been planned for months and was posted as an early close day everywhere

    5. Cast Member

When you first make a park reservation, you should be able to check the hours the parks will be open on the My Disney Experience App, I guess the people complaining didn’t do that. It’s not Disney’s fault they didn’t double check.

    6. Dawn

They usually allow for park-hopping at that point. But no, you would not get a discount.

Now… I recently booked a day at Disneyland for March, in January they sent me an email making sure that I know that the park is closing early on that day and if I don’t want to go on a shorter day I should change the reservation to another day. So they do give PLENTY of notice.

Stop making Disney out to be the bad guy. If people took 2 seconds to look before they booked, they would have seen it was closed early.

  7. Happened to us at Animal Kingdom: no warning, just ran everyone out at seven PM for a private party. We were really looking forward to seeing Avatar at night. At least they could have posted a sign at the entrance to let people know. So disappointing.

    1. Ray

Umm Animal Kingdom normally closes at 7pm. Occasionally it’ll be open till 8pm but it closes at 7pm most nights of the year.

    2. Daniger

There are signs at the entrance of the park and at the entrance to parking with the hours of operation. Also, there are other ways to find out hours of operation: Google search, My Disney Experience app, the park time guide… literally everywhere. If you found out day of, it falls on you as they post this months in advance literally everywhere.

    3. Jk

Animal Kingdom closes at 8 PM everyday. 1 hour is 1 hour I understand.

  8. Drew

I know people want to blame it on the big, bad “woke” corporation 🙄 but if you take the time (and effort ) to book this very expensive vacation, there’s an expectation that you are aware of the amended operating hours of the park and to book accordingly.

Longtime cast member party is fine by me. Some billionaire buying out the park is something totally different.

Bob, You are a smartelic and your post should be deleated, like mine will be.

There are fireworks at the castle hourly and a parade 3 times daily. Sorry you missed them. I was down there for 10 days and I did not get to ride the Monorail! Maybe they will comp me.

  10. The Writer is Trash

Hack job of an article. Literally dozens of signs explaining why the park was closing. Do some research.

  11. Hc LABROCK

I was there…terrific day. No lines, walk on for every attraction..

  12. Jean

No one was forced. Hours are posted well in advance
