    Gwarssssh!..Where to even begin…

Well the trend started slowly with the introduction of Starbucks Seattle based minimalist environmentalist design.

In Disneys case, the taking out the themeing is a way for Disney to save on future remodels, while any amounts that were bidgeted were cut and difference has been put into Disney+.

This started a good ten years ago, minimally, but gradually taking out the themeing that at the time guests werenot awareof it, but now its , Yea, wheres the character/themeing?

Wilderness lodge rooms are a good example. The first vacation club wing of Wilderness lodge was great, themed to the minute detail.
Then the new addition of vacation club rooms came to be, and they look like they belong in the contemporary.

These are Imagineers here????….Or decorators for Budget Inn???

The bandwagon trend is to Reimagine/Rebuild the World, you see the tag line used in a lot of advertising across multiple companies, even Lego.uses it.

So reimagine the world, without theme, without character….Hey why not hire Melissa and Doug, who make the wood toys, or better yet, bring in the Starbuckneers, yea, we all need that minmalist, no theme, no character , one of nature….Bla!!!

Imagine if the three stooges were reimagined, into no themed comedy minimalist. Three guys just stand there on the sidewalk for 22 minutes an episode…Yea thats so much fun, again…Blaaaa!!

One of the key features of the Disney resorts were themeing inside and out, the lobby, the rooms, the landscape, etc…..

O hey, wait, lets a build a reimagined McDonalds and Grey paint the golden arches, and lets get Stanford University to dicate what we shall call the menu items since Stanford is the authority in deeming how we shall speak….Ok a Big Mac, will be called A stack and learn tofu plant substitute soy protein square….Ok how about McRib changed to National Geographic Anatomically Correct Half STEM experience.

See how crazy this has gotten, its like the late 1960s, the hippies are back, or did they ever really leave. Oh wait correction not hippies, Citizens (indigenous to San Francisco) of peace, love and flowers…its out of control.

Why should the theming and character be taken out of it? If Disney discontinues Disney+, there you go, moolah budget for keeping the themeing in the resorts.

Disney was a staple of themeing. You dont get that way by jumping on others band wagons. They jump on yours as Disney once set the trend.

Hold on.. Do I hear someone calling?…..Its Universal Stuidos, Marios is on hold…The fact that Universal.is now topling Disney could be a good thing to for Disney to get that one little spark of imagination back (its gonna take more than one little spark)

Execs at Disney, the Board of Directors, roll over their Iras, 401k’s, while uncle Walt rolls over in his grave….unless his head is frozen under the Magic Kingdom…than he can roll.over his eyes…

What one man, well.actually the two brothers created with the help of many back in the day, is now being trampled upon by PC activism, politics, misguided attempts at launching new platforms, price hikes, minimalist garbage idealism, when the old ways had worked.for many years…thats why Disney has lasted…the first ways implemented are what lasts…the old timers know what they were doing.

So put on your Mickey Mouse Ears, Board of Directors, and lend an ear to the past. The only way to move forward is to take.one step back.

No matter how rough the waters, please support the old Disney, hang in there, it will get better. Most of the board and upper level management will leave at some point. Let them go work at Six Flags Parks…O wait. they cant, those parks are already ruined, see if former Disney execs can do more damage

Disney needs to take a good look at why guests are staying anywhere but on their properties.

We have stayed on Disney property many times but our next trip won’t be on property. We could easily Uber to the parks each day.

Disney needs to ask themselves why guests would want to do so..

Part of the Magic is the themes of the resorts and rooms. Take that away and you have a regular hotel and room you could get somewhere else and cheaper.

Let’s not forget that Disney has made it an absurd price now to visit their parks w a vacation pkg on property.

People opt to go to another theme park, stay on their property and simply Uber the days they want to visit Disney or they just choose not to go to Disney at all.

I grew up as a small child getting to go to Disney all the time. Like every year if it was possible. It was our one vacation that for four days of it was Disney and the rest elsewhere. I then passed those traditions on to my children and the magic. Except we went longer as I loved Disney and so did our children.

My kids are grown. Youngest in her early 20s and we have taken the grown adult trip to Disney w their spouses or significant others. We had to separate resorts at Disney due to our family size. Moderate and Value.

Disney standards that you came to expect, Disney magic that I grew up with, my kids grew up with was gone.

Disney CEO, Board members need to take a look at the past. What worked then would still work today.

Sadly they will never see our comments.

It’s all about squeezing every nickel out of it’s guests for which they are experts. The funny thing is that people will continue to pay, whatever Disney charges.
