There was nothing “problematic” about any part of that ride the way it was . The only thing that’s problematic is the pandering and virtue signaling that’s happening ..
They say that Walt had last minute doubts about that scene, but since it was too late, it went ahead. So, it’s not in our imagination, but I liked the old way, too. The new is fine, and I agree with others that the new Pirate Redd should’ve had a raspier voice and not so ‘sweet’. But that ride is always a favorite for everyone! I still love the ‘new’ Octopus addition!

They were selling women in slavery. It was problematic. I loved the part, don’t get me wrong… but being an adult looking back… it was creepy.
