As a celebrity you should always be open to sign autographs for fans. The fans are who bring the $$$$ to the box office, sequels, prequels, dvd/streaming, merchandise, etc…
Ok celebrities are people just like us, have good and bad days… However at an event leave your problems at home, you are there to promote the film/project, talk to the fans, etc…there are appropriate times and places for autographs…
If you (as a celebrity) during an event dont want to sign autographs, have your manager/PR person come out to the fans, and clearly, and respectfully state that is what is desired at the time. Or take a limo and go out a different entrance to entirely avoid the crowds.
Fans, crowds, media, paparazzi, events, interviews, autographs, are just some of the baggage that comes with stardom.

Who is surprised? Cameron is arrogant and socially awkward.
But yes, he should make an effort to be less of a weenie head.
