Good for Disney adopting these rules and announcing them. No one should be allowed or excused to disrupt others who also paid good money to be there and are enjoying the experience.
Maybe do like they did in one of the Furry Freak Brothers comics where a cast member looked you straight in the eyes to determine your attitude before entering. If you didn’t pass you don’t get in.
It’s scientific fact When you over crowd people they become more violent. I can’t believe this place doesn’t get shut down on for over crowding some nights.
These rules have always existed at Disney. Problem is that there is never a consequence. So you put a reminder at the entrance, so what. Then you have a lot of people who are miffed because of the wait times. More people are miffed because they can’t get Lightning Lanes after paying for them. More people get miffed because they order a burger that is dry as shoe leather. People then get miffed because someone stands in front of them last minute at a parade. You get the idea. So when the last miff happens people explode. Not saying it is right, but when you set up a situation that is asking people to explode, they will.
Now if we could just do something about the new Disney grooming kids sexuality with movies thing, right? Because the “Magic” should be about what you do in the bedroom.
When those who run things, live the experience themselves, they better understand the experience for others…
In that way, the experience can be better created, limiting situations where tempers grow, and avoid problems.
The elimination of alcohol can go a long way in eliminating problems, and remembering Guests are as if they are Guests in your home creates a felling of family.
You can not eliminate all issues, however by creating the proper experience, the problems are extremely minimal.
Not impressed. Last time I was at Disney (2021) it was the cast members who were rude and abusive. I tripped and fell in a store in Galaxy’s Edge and the CM told me “you can’t sit there. You need to get up or leave.” Needless to say, once I put the items I knocked over in my fall back on the shelf, I limped my way over to the manager. Yes I went full Karen. His attitude and lack of empathy was disgusting.
Sadly, anyone that thinks going “full Karen” is ever justifiable is part of the problem. Life is so much more enjoyable when you become the better person, regardless of the circumstances.
When you pay huge amounts of money and employees treat you like dirt, going full Karen is entirely warranted. Sadly, this is becoming common all across the US with people not interested in working.
The fact that you admit you went “Full Karen” pretty much confirms that you were at fault for whatever happened and you’re trying to spin the story to make you look innocent. Which you weren’t.
I like to drink, but alcohol in the parks contributes to the problem. I love Disney, but the crowds, heat, and enormous cost can stress most adults. Give them a few drinks and stand back.
I totally agree. It seems as though most of these ‘bad behavior’ problems arose when alcohol started being served in the parks. Alcohol has no place in overcrowded, family oriented theme parks, especially Magic Kingdom. I see it as just another way for the parks to increase revenue but it is costing them in other ways.
I hate Disney and what’s its become (woke). Will never go back. Now there are only certain people that go, so of course they will behave badly. Go woke, go broke!
The meaning of WOKE is aware of and actively attentive to important societal facts and issues (especially issues of racial and social justice).
Now, what part of that is causing these problems? You hate Disney because they have become aware of societal issues? And you don’t like them because they have decided to finally do something about the out-of-control behaviors of some visitors? I’m not seeing anything here that would cause me to not go to Disney…quite the opposite. So what’s your problem with it?
ever since the day they allows alcohol in all the parks(I can remember the only place that sold it was in the Old England section ofm Epcot)the behavuiour of guests has alarminghly become more disruptive forcing Disney to make these decisions but who should shoulder the blame here?I* say Disney
This is NOT a new policy. 50 years ago I had a tiny patch with a cannabis leaf on the pocket of my jeans. They grabbed me snd said rip it off or we throw you out. I started to cry. I was terrified. I forgot about the patch. I tore it off but my day was ruined. In later years they threw my anorexic daughter out. They made a big scene about her looking sick. This was at Disneyland. As I said, these are not new rules.
If they can’t act like civilized human beings then they should be barred and tossed.
It is about respect for yourself and others. Period.
Act like an ass go home early and lose your $.
Seems right.
Maybe Dissney should consider doing away with giving guests special treatment of cutting in line for attractions because they. Can afford to buy special treatment remember all are created equal.
When you cater to the people who have the most money and feel the most entitled instead of families, then you get what you ask for. Middle class families have been priced out of Disney. Poor Walt is Spinning in his grave.
I agree it’s been long needed to create some civility there. Perhaps if they went back to calling people ladies and gentlemen and boys and girls instead of hello friends it might make people more respectful of each other. Being woke is not always a good look.
Blah, blah, blah.
Disney now has a policy that allows them to give people the boot if they exhibit bad behavior.
Disney is all talk, but no walk.
I’ll believe it when I see them actually giving the boot to the yahoos that are being disruptive.
Set that example hard and fast. Word will get around real quick to keep it in check, or else.
Like all other rules, it will only apply to certain people. Remember the fight where they kicked the victims out of their hotel rooms while they were in the hospital, because the attackers were affiliated with Disney? I do.
The over crowding does create trouble. There can be many issues of why. Walt had a dream to create fantasy for many. Just takes one bad apple to ruin it for the rest. That’s why rules n laws exist!
Disney has to do this to keep order n respect. If your not causing trouble you have nothing to worry about. You have complaints? Take it to GUEST SRVICES! Otherwise don’t go!
I am a Disney lover, FL AP Holder who drops allot of money each time I go, which is monthly. We don’t stay at resorts that are not on property and only eat at the restaurants on property as well, we spend allot of time getting these reservations as wells. So I believe the MG Cast members need to also start changing and becoming a little nicer, I was yelled at 3 times on my last visit for following there instructions. THEY had my family wait over 2 hours to eat at Royal Table. Are reservations were much earlier, we walk out and have reservations somewhere else and we were late, my daughter walks to the carousel 🎠 and wow you would have thought she had a gun in her hand it was that bad, a CM ran and screamed at my baby so loud, that my husband said who the F$&! Are you talking too like that? Anyways I could go on and on and on about CM behavior and how they are treating the guest as well….
We can all agree certain behaviors cant be tolerated. SO SPECIFY THAT. The Disney release is so VAGUE and open to interpretation. and therefore worthless IMO. Tell people exactly what isnt allowed and what will get you the boot.
Very needed . Have seen so much domestic violence, had a woman decide I looked fun to knock over security helped but honestly it’s the Disney fans showing kindness help I’ve cream and a band aid . This makes me feel a lot safer going to the parks with my special needs son .
As a former cast member, I know that this policy always existed, though, perhaps, not in writing. Cast members could call their managers as well as security to break up fights, unruly displays (louds groups chanting), and all kinds of misbehaviors. Resort guests were denied future access (and sometimes “evicted” during their stay) due to destructive and disruptive actions. Now that Disney is specifically clarifying and publicizing the rules for behavior, perhaps uncouth guests will think twice.
It seems to me that the uptick in bad behavior has approximated the uptick in alcohol sales. This is a family park and I don’t think alcohol sales should be so prevalent. Maybe 1 or 2 places but not everywhere. I’m glad Disney has tightened up their regulations a bit.
It’s their property, they can do as they please. If you don’t like being able to act like a initialed Karen or Ken and keep your spawn in check, don’t go. Way to go Mickey.
I say kick em out. If they think that they are so entitled that they don’t have to follow rules, the park and everyone in it are better off for it. They should be banned for LIFE.
I agree with all those that say that it’s about damned time they did this. You pay ALOT of $$$ to get into the park just to have your day ruined by some ahole thats causing a major ruckus. and again about time
The biggest problem I see with is the statement offensive behavior. I have been clothed shamed because I wore a 2nd amendment T-shirt to Disneyland in California. All it said was I support the Constitution and the 2nd. And I was told to leave the park and escorted out to change my shirt. I saw a lot more offensive shirts than mine supporting the US constitution that day but it is pick and choose what the staff agrees with and what they don’t agree with.
I was just at Magic Kingdom yesterday and was EXTREMELY disappointed with how horrible the entire experience was! I spent $1000 for day passes for my family and regret every penny! I will NEVER go there again as long as I live! It’s overpriced, outdated, the fast passes are a total scam as they could not be used on the good rides, the food was nasty, and last but not least, the employees were very rude and disrespectful towards the park guests! Their woke agenda and destructive customer service will destroy Disney! I just can’t believe how horrible it was! They need to rid their park of their employees, not the guests! Thanks Disney for ruining the magic that once existed!
While I fully support this, we experienced some extremely rude behavior from Disneyworld staff recently. Due to low blood sugar, I had to get out of line to get something to resolve the issue. I was rudely yelled at for stepping over the rope. I calmly said “please don’t yell at me” and was then berated and told I was rude! Those in line with my family expressed their shock at how the employees spoke to me. Due to me immediate health need, I couldn’t stay there to report the issue, I did send chats and emails with zero response. If you have a complaint, record your interactions because the staff are certainly not “magical” or polite as I’ve previously experienced!
To Have a more civil society, we need to have more and very public actions against unruly, harmful, and destructive behavior. Not a gestapo knee jerk reaction but once a ‘guest’ throws a fit, just immediately escort them silently and show them the exit doors, with assistance going through them if necessary. And the text in the ‘guest’ agreement explaining this, needs to be in big bold red lettering.
Good for them I know I am tired of how people think there entitled to admittance just because they pay the park prices. Your an adult not a child if you can’t play nice even in a playground the teacher have you in time out. I ‘ve seen two grown adults duke it out Infront of their crying kids. Both guys where escorted out. One constantly saying I paid such and such dollars. Smh so did everyone else.
Why do you keep saying fans, in such ways as; “fans do this” “fans do that” and here’s some actual quotes “it’s a shame fans have let it get to this point” and “until fans can learn to control…”
Hold on here. What are you talking about with this generalization and blanket attack at so called or self proclaimed Disney Fans?
First of all, “fans” didn’t “let this happen.” You speak as if “Fans” are an entity with self regulation. Why? You say “Fans” need to learn to control themselves. Why?
These acts are not committed by “Fans” as an entity in and of itself. No, they are committed by individuals. Individual people, who act in very much a different perspective and ideal than the one sold by Disney or bought by those who purchase admission.
Why in the world would you call out “Fans” for the actions of those who go entirely opposite to the ideals of the entire scenario in which they deposit themselves?
I’ve been a Cast Member for over 40 years and I can tell you that our policy’s regarding Guest eviction have always been there. It varies greatly depending on those involved, however physical altercations, theft, and a few other choice items have not only resulted in being booted out, but in many cases being arrested by the resident Police.
I applaud Disney for these new rules. Even before Covid I have seen a change in Disney once they allowed alcohol in the parks outside of Epcot. Take the alcohol back out of the parks except Wpcot like it was before.
The reason you’re having so many issues is because we wait in line for 3.5 hours for one ride older people having to stand in line with children no where to sit! I was just there for 5 days last week greed has taken over it’s no longer about the experience it’s about the money! I can not tell you how frustrated I was with Disney last week! You only get to ride 3 or 4 rides then you even have to wait in line to see characters ridiculous! Pay for LL lane still wait hours only used it for one ride
This is not a new policy. It’s always been around. It’s just the parks are becoming more crowded and more incidents are being reported and being reported on social media. Making people more aware of them. I’ve been going since the 80’s. The only thing that has changed is the overcrowding and people having entitled behavior. Alcohol isn’t the blame, CM aren’t to be blamed. It’s the overcrowding and entitlement. There needs to be zero tolerance like it used to be.
Good for them. However they should probably revisit their alcohol policy too. I visit Disneyworld every year and have seen a change in behavior since WDW has allowed more alcohol in the parks. Doesn’t seem like a coincidence.
We were there in late June 2022. We have been to WDW at least 30 times. It was very overcrowded with large unruly groups of people. Shoving, foul language, nothing “magic” about it anymore. Almost like gangs were there. It was exhausting. I think we’re done with Magic Kingdom. BTW, Animal Kingdom was much better.

Rude and abusive behavior is becoming an accepted
norm in society today. I applaud Disney for taking whatever action necessary to remove bad behavior

Well, that’s 1) pretty ridiculous and 2) absolutely not true and 3) proof you have no idea what “grooming” means. Ask your boy Matt Gaetz, he knows.

Totally support booting and banning disruptive park visitors.

Also, please start training CMs properly again. I’ve encountered some shockingly rude ones.

Good for Disney.
Every business should be taking advantage of that Right to refuse service when it comes to abusive and belligerent customers.
