Why are you taking the aide of a line cutter? I don’t care if your kid is in a wheelchair. We need Z.E.R.O. tolerance now. You aren’t special. Follow the rules.
The only thing I glean from these comments is how glad I am to not be a Disney park customer. It sounds like a Black Friday shopping melee every minute of a visit.
If you had read the story, you would know, the person wasn’t a line jumper but had left his place to ask a cast member a question and was returning to his spot.. That is NOT line jumping moron.
Yes! Man or woman, I would’ve had to put hands on them if they confront me for no legitimate reason. Good luck calling the police without teeth. Too many people are getting 8nto other people’s business unnecessarily but are quick to do nothing when someone truly needs help.
It is NOT line jumping. They had waited, and needed a question answered. However, since we now have to worry that people are nuts, the parent should ask permission of the “line neighbors” before going to ask their question to ensure readmittance. Because we can’t think about what should be common sense anymore.
And as far as I know, nobody ever wrote down the rules for waiting in line, they are accepted social mores.
Sorry, but I have to agree with the dissent here. First let’s ignore common sense, and assume the ONLY cast member at the attraction was at the front of the line.
Anyone who exits a line should be able to figure out that it’s going to be difficult to get back because of the perception that they’re skipping. The polite thing would be, as the “wrong” guest stated, for the parent’s family to simply allow others to pass until she could catch up. As the author correctly points out, they were in the same show regardless.
What irks me most, however, as someone who works with terminally ill and disabled children often, I really am disgusted by parents who throw the “my child is in a wheelchair” card expecting to be treated differently. Most of the parents I work with go far out of their way to make sure they’re following rules. Few of them ever would ever use their child’s disability to excuse their own bad behavior.
I may not look disabled with MS. Walking is a chore. Disney is huge and the wheelchair made it pleasant for me. We are not cutting in line. We are finally getting some balance in the life in the hand we have been dealt.
Yeah, as someone with chronic heart issues and being on dialysis for about 20 years, a wheelchair would be beneficial for me at a place like Disney, but I have a feeling that people would question me being in a wheelchair when it looks like I can walk perfectly fine.
That’s ridiculous logic. Those lines are long. What if someone needs to use the restroom? If their family is in line, they should be able to use the facilities & return to their group. And you’d begrudge someone with a DISABILITY? Not nice, dude!
Was the C word really necessary? A little over the top for something that doesn’t even affect anything in your life…. This why I stay in the house rather than go to places with lots of people, because of people like you whi fly off the handle quick and for not much reason ..
I WAS that kid in the wheelchair at one point and you are completely out of line. It was a nicety that DW instituted and no way one ever asked for. Alot of wheelchair bound kids have cognitive delays or outright impairments that impede critical thinking and reasoning so they need to be able to get in and out in a jiffy so they don’t get overwhelmed. Next time I encourage you to think before you type and keep your prejudice quiet
As a former “cast member” and also frequent guest, along with my family, there have been times when either I or a member of my family has had to step out of line to use the restroom and then return to where we were and in the twenty-six years and hundreds of times we’ve done so have never had a problem since people along the line were informed we would be returning.
What needs to be done is for Disney to establish a number system at various locations along the que line with the location and time stamp as to when you had to leave so that when returning you could simply show it to anyone who wants to know why you are “cutting though the line”.
And for those of you who are of the opinion that those who step out of line, should have to start over at the end of the line again should build your own Theme Park so you could make all the rules you see fit.
So you punch babies for breaking the rules Steve? “WE NEED A ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY!” at and amusement park themed after children’s cartoons. You are probably a decorated officer that only shot a dozen “bad guys”. You need professional help homie.
This person wasn’t a line cutter. He needed to ask a question to a cast member. Try reading the entire article before commenting.
I don’t know why ITM continue to write these stories It makes the worst of people and trolls. It’s sad really that your life is so miserable tha5 you have nothing nice to say.
She’s committing assault by stopping her from getting back to her familt. The screamer will be the one to get arrested, then I would DEFINITELY be laughing.
Who’s the entitled person in this story, the woman who tried to get back in line where her family was, or the woman who threw a fit like a damn 4 year old? What is with all the people on this website saying they’d assault someone in Disney World??
Yea I’d say I’m sorry for that parent, and the family for a bad experience, had to run into a crazy Karen. Someone in charge should of got her out of the line. Maybe next time I’d just stay in line and wait till I got closer to one of the ppl in charge to ask the question, that way someone behind you or anybody won’t have anything to say.
As the parent of special needs in wheelchairs. We have seen many times where one parent will take a kid on one line and the other parent enter a que to get ahead . When the parent with the kid is done in the other line they try to get in the cue to catch up to the parent standing there. In march we had a whole group of adults do that on arial under the sea. You get parent with several kids ahead of us and at least 6 trying to get to them. If you have to step out have your party let others pass by you and wait for them to catch up. Many times I had to take one of our kids out of the cue. My husband stood to the side until I could catch up.
Yah Sorry I have been in queue and seen 3 and 4 people use the “oh my party is up ahead” BS to meet up with one placeholder – sorry get to the back – you get out you get out. But of course when you toss out right and wrong this is what you get.
Secondly I have personally led trips for hundreds of disabled persons to WDW and we nearly ALWAYS go through the regular queue. The whole movement for the disabled is to treat people as they are no different than anyone else. Well that means the regular queue. I get that sometimes it cannot be done – but that is the EXCEPTION not the rule. I personally disassembled the wheelchair of a person to get them on a ride in their chair insert. Too many non disabled people abuse this.
You are exactly the kind of person who needs to be banned. Perhaps I should forward these posts to Guest Services so they can take proper action against your violent threats.
Steve I actually am disabled I have mild cerebral palsy and so standing for long periods of time is very difficult but back when I was a little boy I actually did have to wait in a long line and oh that’s right my mother who has may she rest in peace has multiple sclerosis had also been in line now if I had to go to the bathroom my father would take me to it my mother would be the placeholder so guess what it does happen
Typical Soy Boy response. Wants to be able to run his mouth and physically block a parent from getting back to their child without facing any potential consequences for playing Captain Virtue Signal.
Abandoning your kid is a good way to have them removed from your care. Lets be honest, you arent hurting anyone, you are a physically incapable twink or an overweight backboard id love to encounter you goober
Then you haven’t been to Disney lately have you? It amazes me how many people feel they are entitled to do whatever they want. So yes I can believe a woman was yelling at her.
There are legal disabled people that are stuck at their home with their families. Even if they don’t look disabled. And they want to go to Walt Disney World they want to enjoy life as they did when they were little children. And there’s a lot of people in the state of Florida who don’t provide the proper transportation. From the home or from the airport. For one or five people who are disabled even in the wheelchair. Or if there’s somewhere else in disability as far as to be able to go to enjoy something. Reformation to control those who are not disabled. It is very tricky. I am disabled. Because I was hit by a car in 2010 trying to keep my contract with a professional sports so I can get an education. But they don’t provide transportation I had to go get a non-taxi to go at least towards Walt Disney world. And the man had his car pulled over by the local authorities of the State of Florida and I was sent right back home. It was 4:00 in the morning. And I went inside my home while my family was asleep that I came from. Missing the whole adventure of going to Walt Disney World. And I’m a Disneyland or Disney World or anything Disney veteran. When my father used to work for the space program. They had a military discount and Military and Florida resident discount. So I was going to finally do something I’ve never done before in many years. I was going to go to Disney and again try this time to ride Space Mountain. But never got that opportunity.
Aww does Stevie like acting like an AH?? Grow up & stop
being a JA. What person in their right mind wouldn’t let a parent get back with their child in line? You are being nothing but a jerk.
The DMV needs to give out les placards, first of all. Disneyland has a billion disability spaces and they will let you park literally anywhere if you’re in a wheelchair, even if they have to get a vehicle out to you to get you to the park.
They will do ANYTHING to get you on that ride. Backwards through the line and pull the cart practically onto the main track? Delete people from existence so you can move on the ground? Stop a parade so you can get to the bathroom? Kill the president?
I personally don’t ever call people out for “cutting” in line. The worst I do is mumble to my husband or kids. My kids are the ones who just let it spill out their mouths. We have bigger things to worry about and I honestly try and think why they are going ahead. Normally I say “they must of got out of line”, “must be in an extreme hurry” etc. I will speak up when there is something to speak up about. Also, the woman got of line and left her family there. You can’t physically keep someone from their child. One that is little and crying AND in a wheelchair.
I truly was going to bring my handicapped daughter to visit a Disney Resort, as she has always wanted to and we could never afford to until this new year. However, in light of all this, I will NEVER bring my daughter to a place that allows anyone to get away with anyone keeping me from her, or having such a horrid attitude about anything related to disabilities. Seriously, more attention, not less, should be given to accomodations and access, especially for children. Any and all children are special and Walt Disney treated them as such. I know he would have treated each handicapped child and adult, Not eno
I think that for the most part people just need to mind their own business.
The woman throwing a fit had obviously seen that this other woman had already been in line with her family and whether she stepped out of line momentarily to ask a question or use the restroom her coming back to rejoin her family shouldn’t have started a confrontation.
Seriously, If something like this causes you to freak out and cause a scene you seriously need to self-reflect and figure out why your behavior is so unhinged.
And I don’t care what Disney has implemented as far as visitors reporting other visitors for various things, I don’t think that the guests at the park should be trying to enforce any rules. That’s just a recipe for disaster because you’re going to get a bunch of Barney Fife’s just looking to start a confrontation to try and make themselves feel like they have some authority or power. Things like that should be handled by the employees, period. It reminds me of something that I saw the other day when I was leaving the grocery store. There was a man that was parked in his truck with the engine running right outside of the exit doors and I’m assuming was waiting for his wife.
I honestly wouldn’t have thought twice about it but as I was walking past his truck some lady came out of nowhere and asked me if he was my husband, to which I answered no and the lady huffed and puffed and started banging on his passenger window screaming at him that it wasn’t a parking spot and he needed to move his truck. Should he have been parked there and was it a parking spot? Probably not.
But I just don’t understand random people taking it upon themselves to yell at a complete stranger who they perceive as doing something wrong.
The temperature outside that day was absolutely frigid and the parking lot was packed including all of the handicap parking. So for all that lady knew this guy’s wife could have been elderly or handicapped in some way or maybe she had just called him to let him know she was done with the shopping and he had just pulled up.
Regardless, it’s just not that deep and if anyone had a right to say anything about it it’s the people who work there.
And yes I get annoyed when people cut in line or cut me off in traffic, but I am not responsible for anyone else’s behavior other than my own and it’s up to me how I react. Nine times out of ten the best thing to do is to stay calm, mind your business, move on and don’t let it ruin your day.
People like the woman who threw the fit in this article only make themselves look bad by reacting like that.
Yeah 3 things:
1: “Steve” trolled everyone in the comments here lol
2: enchanted tales with belle has been closed going on 3 years now
And 3: these troglodytes aren’t even close to being new to theme parks. I’ve encountered them at every park from six flags to universal to magic kingdom since at least the 1990s. They just think the world revolves around them. Just last spring break at space mountain i had to go back to drop off an umbrella BEFORE even entering the queue and as I passed a group to join my girls to go in, the adult lady in that group stopped me to ask why i had passed them… like seriously dude? We weren’t even in the queue yet plus i KNOW you heard my girl 2 feet in front of you yell “hurry up dad!”. Even if i wanted to run at full speed just to beat you into the queue, there’s literally nothing you can do about that. This isn’t your world. You don’t own the park. Calm down and mind your own business.
