Taking the disappointment of Fantastic Beasts and turning it into the Mother of all cinematic FUBARs.

Jesus christ all people want to do is whine and cry all the time. Shut up and just dont watch it if you dont want it. Sequele and reboots dont ruin anything. You people do. Your weird little expectations and childish inability to move on from the past hinders you all so much and its extremely pathetic.

      1. John

Wow. You must be fun at parties.

        1. Lew

Why? Because they’re pointing out facts about you and your fellow fanboys

      2. Chris

        Amen

      3. Zane

Right? It also speaks to the ridiculous amount of entitlement people have. As if they’re opinion is even relevant. It’s still going to happen. This era of “I don’t like this, so it shouldn’t exist” is going to be the downfall of us all lol

        1. Alex

When they spend energy on doing reboots instead of trying new things..we all lose.

          1. Loki Darksong

Rebooting the Harry Potter franchise serves no purpose. Only a handful of reboots have actually succeeded with the rest being complete and utter failures that are insult to the original source material.

Is far more advisable to set new stories and new characters within the establish universe of the franchise.

        2. Curtis

People grew up with and were inspired by this story.

People are upset by corporate greed ruining it.

      4. Reaper

          😂😂😂

      5. Crabtree77

Says a grown ass adult who watches Harry Potter! What a loser! Your feelings are hurt because no one agrees with your shortsighted view of life.

        1. Q

Harry Potter came out when us brown people were children and teens….

      7. Evan

When they keep rebooting franchises rather than making new stories, who’s really living in the past?

      8. Michael

Here is the best way they should do this if a startover is what they want. Go animated. Dont redo the live action. It wont go well. Doing an animated version will allow them to gain a new following and reallt separate it from the original franchise. Plus, going animated will allow them to expand on the larger amount of storyletting already available in the books.

      9. Humans Do Suck

        I agree 👍🏻

      10. Cali-Moderate

Something is severely wrong with you.

      11. George

So whines and cries and judges the person so “mature” and above it all they have to rage at people for having opinions 😂😂😂😂

        1. Curtis

          ^^^

I was about to type something similar.

      12. Margie

This is messed up the franchise was good the way it was you don’t have to reboot good movies because of bad ones

      13. Mike

Thank you for finding a way to say this without a lot of profanity. I will never understand these self-absorbed people who think that they are entitled and aren’t able to not be a child when something is not to their liking or somehow offended them

  2. TortugaShawty

Rebooting this franchise? This will be doomed.

    1. Fiege is God

That they’re thinking about rebooting HP, and have canceled Henry Cavill, among other projects, but are still going forward with the Flash movie after all the trouble that Ezra Miller has been in. WB really needs to get their priorities straight.

  3. Ravenpuff

This reeks of desperation. This was the best idea they could come up with???? What about doing a TV series that closely follows the books? No new source material needed, but would allow for some creativity.

    1. Evan

FACTS!! Animated series would go so hard!!

  4. Steve

What do you do when you have no creative ability? Reboot something and make it worse.

    1. Michael

Disney has been doing this for years and people still watch their crap shows and movies.

  5. Noel

Do not remake these films with new cast. You will ruin the magic! Do not change anything!

    1. Candise

Yep, definitely no more needed. So many TV, movies ,and books ruined by sequels !

    2. Dixie

We don’t want a new reboot, we want 7 marauders movies 😭

  6. Laura Arrick

How about doing a series on the Marauders during their Hogwarts years? New cast, new material, no reboot needed.

  7. Jayne1955

They should do it as a mini series and not cut all the things they cut out. Personally, I liked Fantastic Beasts, aside from what they did to Johnny Depp, which was uncalled for.

  8. NWraight

No thank you. The Fantastic Beast series was based on a short-book and was doomed from the start. The rest of Harry Potter should be left alone. However it seems like all we care about is money and have no good ideas. I will not support a reboot.

  9. CMS

Totally bad idea, as others have said, it will be doomed to failure. It is like trying to imagine a reboot of Star Wars😳 or LOTR. 😳😳😳.

    1. Anonymous

Nobody cares. The people that are fans of the original films will remember those, and any kind of reboot will appeal to the new and younger fans who will grow up with the reboot. Film companies have done this forever with their profitable franchises. The people that have some sort of inability to realize that, and get into arguments about “that’s not canon” need to just stop. It’s great to be a fan, but taking it to the level where you fight over miniscule details is just absurd. Let it go.

  10. teri

I’d be ok if they make a series or something with Harry’s and Ron and Hermione’s children at New Hogwarts. But leave what was alone.

    1. Kathi K

A reboot with different cast of Harry Potter would be horrible! If they can’t come up with anything new, leave what was good alone!

  11. Jason McDonald

I doubt this is seriously going to happen. It’s too soon. And the toxicity around JK is also a problem. I also think that if this was truly happening, we would have heard about it in Variety or Hollywood Reporter, rather than here.

  12. Let’s not mess with the original please. Just fix Fantastic Beast Series. It has such potential

  13. JK may have some thing to say about this I am sure ,so the rummor mill may wanna “check its self” before they start making decisions thast are WAAAAAY above their pay grade.

    1. TJW

Finish the FB series even if just released online!
      I have enjoyed them actually.

  14. J

“A reboot no one asked for” is a horrible omen. I can already see how this is going to go:
    1) remake “Sorcerer’s Stone,” which gets a tepid reaction and doesn’t make as much money as they wanted
    2) maybe remake “Chamber of Secrets,” because of contractual obligations or whatever? It does even worse
    3) the remaining movies get canned

If I could find a sportsbook willing to give me odds, I would bet money on that right now.

  15. Chris Kinney

Reboot the franchise doesn’t mean remake the movies.

  16. Karen

I won’t watch a re-boot, it’s completely unnecessary and the original series of movies are great, absolutely no need to remake them.

I’d like them to do at least one more FB movie, if not both we were promised, capture a bit more of what made the 1st one so special, and wrap up the story instead of just drop it as is.

  17. Caroline

This whole idea is Bovine Scatology, as General Stormin Norman would say
No one wants this and just like the movie Natural Born Killers, it would be TOTAL AND COMPLETE GARBAGE!!!!!!!!

  18. Mary allan

The only thing they could do to fix fantastic beasts is to release it with Johnny Depp playing the role he should be. Unless they do this, I have no interest whatsoever in fantastic beasts. I would love to see cursed child made with original cast though. That would be great.

  19. Torri

It’d be nice to see what happens with the next generation but in order to do that, they’d have to bring some of the older characters in. I wonder if any of them would be ok to return. I think I read Malfoy would.

  20. Valxer

Isn’t it “The Crimes OF Grindelwald”? Can this be trusted if it doesn’t even know the name of one of the movies it’s referencing?

  21. Rachel Dsy

The original was a classic but I’ll give it a chance

  22. Korey

Please no they don’t Need to Reboot the Movies they should be left alone if your going to do one more Movie do an Adaptation of Cursed Child with Dan, Rupert and Emma coming back as Harry, Ron and Hermione 1 more time with new young actors playing their Children.

  23. Korey

Please No don’t Reboot the Movies they should be left alone if they do one more Movie do an Adaptation of Cursed Child with Dan, Rupert and Emma coming back as Harry, Ron and Hermione one more time.

  24. Korey

I didn’t mean to type it in twice lol

  25. no

they could easily just do what theyre doing with percy jackson and make this a TV series following the plot of the books, but i guess they arent? even though it would work pretty well.

  26. Tammy

Make The Cursed Child into a movie with the actors and actress from the book. Also make new movies that follow the original cast of Harry Potter’s kids going to Hogwarts for the first time, and follow them as they grow up in Hogwarts.

  27. Bella

I would like to see this done as a top tier TV series. They could add in so much that was in the books but did not make it into the movies.

If the series did well they could do prequels and spin offs. They could do entirely new stories that take place at Hogwarts and have nothing to do with the original characters.

  28. Jo Jo

Please do not reboot the franchise. It is easy to see…they made it happen. I love Harry Potter. It will always be a classic. Please create a sequel. The franchise cannot go on forever. But sequels are still meant to be.

  29. Jo Jo

Don’t create a new version without the original cast… bottomline…it isn’t necessary. I am an artist too. Even I just watched Harry Potter. My cousins loved it. I waited for the chance to watch it. It’s sentimental.

  30. Jeremiah McKenna

When you are lazy and can’t come up with your own material, just redo other people’s work. Or, they could actually make better movies instead.

Disney has gone broke because thry went Woke, and now Universal and WB is following right behind them. So sad.

  31. Nick B

Where is the Wizarding World is Cancelled part of the story. Getting way too typical of this site. Half the title references an actual event, other half vague opinion that doesn’t even get brought up anywhere within the article.

    1. Todd P

      Facts

  32. Todd P

Ok, so, hear me out… A whole series about the Aurors at the Ministry of Magic. My wife’s idea and I absolutely love it.

  33. Mickeymouse3

    Reboots suck!
Disney has been churning out live action reboots of their animated features and for the most part are garbage.
Use the kids story line. Do some spin offs of characters. Make a series out of it with more details.
    Try being creative!

  34. Rick

Ah HA HA HA HA! Yeah that’s a great idea. They’re not trying to do it only to ruin JK Rowling or anything and say it was her idea all along blah blah blah. Not to mention whatever studio picks it up will tank faster than blockbuster after Netflix 🤣🤣

  35. Sherrie Young

I think that if you remake the Harry Potter Filmes they will not be the same and will probably not do well. The prior actors made the films what they were. If you try to use a new cast, it won’t be the Harry Potter films. As Harry Potter won’t be there. I love the Harry Potter Movies just as they are. I’ve watched them so many time I know them by heart. I’ve also read all the Harry Potter Books as well.

  36. Winnie Miller

That’s good but please don’t change up the cast. I love all the main ones playing in the Harry Potter script I’m a big Harry Potter fan. I love Harry Potter and all the cast in the movie.

  37. Alice

This sounds like absolute blasphemy. There are some things so golden, you just leave them be. You don’t change something that doesn’t need changing. This is one of those things. I would love to see a movie on the original marauders or Wizarding war 1 etc. But to “remake” the Harry Potter films themselves…why? They are timeless. They don’t need to be touched.

  38. One more eye opening and must read article for the dental professionals..
