    Let me get this straight:
Disney has taken it’s most valuable asset ( or at least one of the more profitable) and allowed it to essentially fall into a state of disrepair? If that’s true, Bob Chapek wasn’t the only one who needs to go. It is clear that the Board cares little for Walt Disney’s legacy and sees it purely as a cash cow. What a shame. Well, there are other places to go on vacation. Somebody over at Disney better develop a functioning brain stem before it’s too late.

Universal is a similar quality to old Disney, with less waiting and less crowds.

All they are missing is scale, which they are working on.

Now is the time Disney needs to dump the networks. ABC, ESPN and their employees do not need to be a liability to Disney. Getting rid of these would erase expenditures to employees such as The View “hosts”. ESPN did well by itself before Disney’s purchase. Get back to the parks and “family” oriented movies. Get back to Disney. Walt would want it that way.

It’s about time! Thank you Mr. Iger! We love you!

Iger is responsible for the mess and the state of disrepair in the parks are you kidding me? You seriously think the rides are always broken because of not quite 2 years of chapek running the company? Not at all. It was 15 years of neglect from iger why they are in the state they are now which is beyond simple fixes. The rides will continue to break down and for long periods due to the neglect under his watch. The only way to get the rides restored now is to replace the whole ride system which isn’t cheap.

Should be an interesting 2 years for Iger. He needs to find someone (other than himself) who has Walt’s vision and fortitude, to bring Disney back to the forefront! Under him AND Chapek, it is a shell of its former glory

Not to put a damper on things, but the phrase in the story that the money ‘might’ be used for the parks is saying ‘we don’t know, but maybe’. As the saying goes, ‘Dont count your chickens before they’re hatched’. Fingers crossed that this is correct.

The problem is that Disney spending on the parks seems to result in them being further damaged. Look at Epcot’s forever mud pit, destroying Splash Mountain, planning to gut Dinoland, and the joke that is Baku.

They just need to fund the upkeep budget. Keep the modern woke Disney “imagineers” away from the parks.

They better turn the ship completely around fast in Elizabeth Swann style or a huge number of their supporters that took part in the 50th won’t be back.

Disney mess up with letting Chapek go. They should have fired the whole board of directors and bring back Iger who put Disney where it is now will only hurt the company more. They need to fire people like Kathleen Kennedy who’s ruined many franchise in Disney. Also Disney needs to stop this woak agenda and stay out of politics and get back to family values if Disney has any hope to survive.

They can’t fire the board since they are controlled by the investors. Ultimately, Disney’s problem has been proven to be the investors. Someone with a clue needs to take them private.

Good. Many many rides need updating, not just refurbishing. And WDW needs at least 1 more park if not 2. Increasing prices to keep people out isn’t the answer, it’s building more space for them to spread out.

In their first 25 years, WDW built 4 parks, multiple water parks, a downtown district. What have they built in the last 25 years? Hotels. That’s it. Hotels.

    1. Steve

They will never build another park. They would rather demolish parts of the existing parks and replace them with questionable IP offerings.

  8. I first began going to Disney World on weekends when I was 16. Cost me $8.00 and I could afford as a parttime restaurant employee in high school. Disney World was well cared for and the workers were friendly, helpful, and immaculate in their costumes. We raised four kids going to Disney with annual passes and as time passed prices increased a bit at a time. When our youngest was in his teens we started noticing things weren’t as clean, rides were out of service when we visited, and Fastpass + killed annual pass holders getting to ride almost everything but maybe the people mover and Winnie the Pooh the Magic was fading. When they opened Disney Springs we knew it was now all about high end sales but the final insult was a $400.00 increase in annual pass price since people would pay to see attractions from studios Disney purchased instead of showcasing. Disney made classics and box office hits. We quit

    Action speak louder than words!
Disney has been all lip service lately. They hint at positive changes to keep the fans on the hook….much like the Detroit Lions do to their fans…only to pull the rug out from under them each time.
Disney is not only losing its magic, it’s losing credibility, not to mention its fan base.
