I have! Granted, I knew the cast member in Fantasyland, as I used to work with them in Tomorrowland. Still, it was a magical moment for me that I will never forget!
The thing I didn’t know going in is that the sword doesn’t actually come all the way out, it just raises a few inches.🤪
It used to come all they way out, but they changed after they stopped do the show with Merlin. Where he would randomly pick kids to try and pull the sword out of the stone.
In Disneyland, there used to be a show about 6x a day. Merlin would come out and chose a luck child to be King for the day with all kinds of benefits…like 1st in line. My son was 7 and got chosen. It was truly a memorable event.
I took the sword with me the last time I pulled it out so they must have extras they keep on hand. I don’t feel like it’s that special anymore… thought it was one of a kind. Anyone want to buy a sword?
I actually don’t need to do this at Disney. all I have to do is walk into my closet in my bedroom and pick up my sword of Excalibur which is actually the real one. It’s been passed down through my family through generations.
Good grief it’s annoying how these articles say the same thing over and over four or five times as they’re set up to the story, just so you have to scroll past more ads. I used to like surfing the web.
Just visited MK a few weeks ago and witnessed MULTIPLE people pull the sword out in a half hour period. It was like it was set to work every so many tries.
My sister and I both did as well when we were little kids. I still remember the show and have the medallion and scroll from Merlin. Back then it was a magical experience. Now it just seems cheap and tacky because they sucked all the fun and excitement out of it.

Nice to see Disney charging for an experience that was meant to be free for children.

There is nothing on the article about a fee being levied. Where did you obtain your information that says Disney is charging for this?

I have pulled the sword out three times.

I remember that, both my sister and I were chosen and named king and queen for the day.

I have told the sword out three times. It became boring after the third time.

Five “actually”s in roughly eight paragraphs, and two in one sentence. Is our children learning? (copyright GW Bush).
