The meaning of WOKE is aware of and actively attentive to important societal facts and issues (especially issues of racial and social justice)
Keep your hate at home. “WOKE Kingdom” won’t miss it.
So if they had simply said “We are renovating Splash Mountain” to tie it into a more recent film, “The Princess and the Frog”, would you be okay with it?
Maybe because people are still figuring out logistics of planning a trip? I literally just booked park reservations today for next month, not for Splash’s final day because my luck it would be down the whole day 🙄
Having spent out on a 2 week vacation to Orlando from which we returned to the UK last week I am not prepared to give Disney any more of my money to ride Splash Mountain again before it closes. I rode it last week and will never ride it again after it’s retheme. The magic in Disney parks is diminishing fast.
And just to be clear, Splash Mountain is not based on the movie Song of the South. It is based on African-American tales about Brer Rabbit, Brer Fox and Brer Bear. These stories form the animated part of the movie. The live action part of the movie, which is why Disney will not release the movie in the USA, has no part in the theme park attraction we all know and love as Splash Mountain.
When I was little we had an album of Uncle remus’s story that’s where I learned about Brer Rabbit and Brer Fox and MY LAUGHING PLACE! I am buying on DVD before you can’t even get that anymore.
The meaning of WOKE is aware of and actively attentive to important societal facts and issues (especially issues of racial and social justice). So, since you can’t stand that Disney is aware of your hate and won’t condone it, good riddance. Your kind isn’t needed there, and won’t be missed.
You appear to be the one on here that can’t stand and HATE adifferent opinion from yourself. You are the only one calling others haters on here. Woke appears to suit you only when it suits you.
I went to Disneyland last month and even brought ponchos and we still didn’t ride it. Other rides were prioritized over splash. Because it us run down and disney refuses to fix it before the retheme
Or maybe it’s just fine the way bit is and needs maintenance. They don’t need to change the theme of the ride to appease the poor, little fragile people out there who seek out things that are offensive to their ridiculous ideals.
All in all people are tired of a minority of dimwits trying to tell the rest of society what’s wrong and what’s right and how they should act and live.
Ummm… “poor little fragile people”. Very ironic statement. If you are so fragile that you actually care about them updating a ride at a child’s park you should probably look inward and not point fingers.
To be clear I couldn’t care less if it stays the same or changed to a princess and the frog theme. Neither offend me because I’m not that sensitive 😂
there may be some days that the parks are very slow, but when I watch streamers in the parks there seems to be a lot of people there still. Hopefully after the holidays it will slow down more so people that want to go for a day or two wont have the horrendous crowds to go through …..
We’re is headed back to ride Splash Mountain one last time. We were there in August on a family vacation, 14 of us, and we didn’t have an opportunity to ride it. My wife said all she wanted for Christmas was a trip to Disneyworld to ride Splash Mountain one last time. We live in Pennsylvania and my wife doesn’t like to fly…so…we’re loading up the car and drivin to Disney in January!
Give Tiana her own new attraction/restaurant and leave the Br’er animals alone! The Br’er Rabbit stories are part of Black oral tradition that traces all the way back to the trickster character (particularly the Hare), that figures prominently in the story-telling traditions of West, Central and Southern Africa.
Maybe if they actually maintained the attraction there would be something worth going to see ‘one last time’. I’d rather my last visit when the ride was fully functional be my everlasting memory of it.
I don’t think most people can afford to protest DisneyWorld or Disneyland anymore. Every video on YT about cheap Disneyland vacations are in the thousands. It’s cheaper to fly to any country in the world right now thM it is to Attend Disneyland. Let alone waste a day standing outside the gates protesting a ride replacement that should have happened years ago. Splash mountain belongs at a Theme Park Museum which Disney should have. But with a plaque recognizing why it was removed from the mainstay park.
honestly it has nothing to do with splash mountain. people are sick Disney. It’s so expensive now. They got rid of a lot of the things that made it special like magical express and the free fast pass. the guest service is so poor it feels like getting help from high school kids halfway through their two weeks notice. guest complaining about the wokeness is the least of their problems.

Weird that there aren’t more people that want to go on a water ride in the middle of winter….
Christinea
It’s 81 degrees outside. Perfectly adequate weather for a “water ride”

There is no systemic racial or social injustice anymore. It’s made up in your twisted mind. You need a lobotomy

It’s a done deal. Fans shouldn’t reward Disney with a last visit. Besides, water rides are usually avoided in the colder weather.

I’m looking to book a trip in January. I’m one of the almost 100,000 that wants Splash to stay the same. I will not give up on #savesplash

Everytime Disney updates a ride they ruin it. Look at Alien Encounter.

Disney is now cringe, the founders would burn the place to the ground if they were alive to see what has happened to their proud American theme park.

You apparently don’t understand how protesting works. You expect people who are angry with Disney to pay them one last time?

Splash Mountain is dead. Get over it and move on. It was way overdue for an upgrade.
