Now they need to ban filming shows, so I don’t have 2 dozen iPads blocking my view.

  2. Amy

Agree with Larry and I hope this comes true!

    1. Catherine

No they should be able to film as they bring a bit of magic to us in the uk as prices soar we are unable to go anymore.

      1. James

Until you guys in the UK can learn how to tip the servers at Disney properly (18 to 20 percent), you shouldn’t be visiting Disney anyways.

        1. Whats that got to do with this topic ? Absolutely Nothing

          1. Roxie

I have to admit that I have video a short segment while riding rides at Disneyland and WDW but for my personal memories and I USE A LANYARD ATTACHED to me cell around MY NECK! so no chance of losing my cellphone

        2. Darren

perhaps Disney should pay servers a loving wage

        3. Rob

Well, that’s why they already put the tip into the bill, so it’s foolproof, and there’s a tip every time.
UK?🤣…. You’re hilarious, the cheapest, or no leave a tip folks are Americans!🤣

          1. Kevin

Well, what do you expect when you have bad food and rude servers with snaggle teeth.

        4. Let me guess; you’re one of those people not getting tipped.

And just how is it ANY of your business?

        5. Sam.

James that was ugly and rude of you.

    2. Linda

      Agree!!

  3. Michael

I am in total agreement. Enjoy the ride. You don’t need to videotape every second of your day. Parades and shows, that’s a different story. Just as long as you’re not blocking anybody’s view. But on rides? No way. Too dangerous.

  4. Royz

    Agree.
If you want a magic memory you used to be able to buy a Disney Parks DVD or (way back old school VHS) of the parks which contained shows and or attractions.

Seen this eminate from the days of old flash cameras then VHS camcorders in the 80’s and 90’s…and today Iphone/tablet, Samsung, etc…. So many guests at WDW and DL spend entire vacation behind the lens of some sort of recording device.

For the modern day vloggers, while its nice to see videos of current experiences, vloggers are not authorized Disney film crews, and or casted on air talent, to be recording such. Have heard/read many stories of the vlogger stars, acting like they are tv or movie stars, impacting guest experiences, for a video clip to be filmed.

A quick flash of the camera for a photo memory, yea thats ok, but not when these vloggers are doing multiple takes for a clip, who do they think they are, Cecile B. Demille?

  5. Tyler

Video on SM banned most likely sue to a flying phone hitting another rider or the nuisance of cast having to retrieve ‘lost’ phones

  6. Paul

They won’t completely ban recording. Because it will be even more dangerous when people sneak recording rides. Plus, if people can’t document everything they did. Watch the attendance drop to levels worse than the limited admission after covid reopen

    1. Steve

      Ridiculous claim.

    2. Bradley Monroe

I hope Disney doesn’t ban vloggers at all however I do see the point in not allowing video on Space Mountain for safety reasons and not for ending Disney vlogs. I am not ready to see an end to the Disney vloggers anytime soon at all.

It’s about time, and it should include filming at indoor shows like The American Adventure at the USA pavilion in Epcot. Dozens of bright cell phones recording the show is a real distraction. And Disney should take it a step further by enforcing a “removal from the park and possible lifetime ban” to anyone caught breaking the rules. Why let a few idiots ruin the experiences for all the guests that abide by the rules?

    1. Steve

Festival of the Lion Long is the worst. Idiot foreigners get the idea to pur the phone over their heads, with a seating pitch of 3 inches.

  8. People should be looking for/at hidden mickeys, not at phones + iPads.

  9. Matthew

Should filming be banned? No, it would be disastrous for Disney. This is free advertising for them and will end up hurting them more in the end as will turn to bad publicity.

Now, with that being said, is there a time and place where filming should not be happening, yes. Should someone be blocking others from enjoying the park or get to an area cause they filming? No. Should people be using selfie sticks (which are now banned CAUSE of misuse) to try and get closer in areas and in peoples faces? No Should people use lighting on their equipment to get a better video on rides and such? NO! Now, some rides you can safely video on, but, should you be talking and vlogging dialog while on a ride? NO. A ride like tower of terror where sudden drops and items can go flying should you record? No, you shouldn’t. There is warnings everywhere to hold onto personal items as they can be lost and fall out.

Some common sense needs to happen. Many cannot afford to constantly visit and want to document their precious times and even children enjoying their first visits and excitement. Let’s not ruin that for families cause of a few who take it too far.

    1. Keri

Disney doesn’t need free advertising, or even more advertising. The park us over-the-top crowded, overly expensive compared to when I was there, and too many changes to be family friendly. Maybe a few less vkoggers/live streamers would make the capacity level decrease and such bring the high price from demand down. Do the math.

  10. Mickeymouse3

Personally, I find the videos taken are never viewed the same as what they are in real time. Sad part is, the real time experience is missed because of the videoing.
Put the recording device away. You will have a much better recollection/memory without the device.

    1. Most people only video a ride once, and most people go on the ride more than once.so real life experience Isn’t missed

      1. Steve

At Disney? You are lucky to ride once, if you are vacationing. That might be all they allow you for some rides.

  11. Steve

There is no reason phones should be allowed out on rides or in shows. Remove them on first offense, ban them on second.

However, it makes no sense to ban filming outside of attractions.

    1. Its so you have memories to watch of your vacation.Because for most people its a Once In A Lifetime trip.

      1. Steve

I don’t really care. You are ruining the experience for yourself and others and probably creating a safety hazard.

  12. Ridiculous. People record stuff for memories and to watch later in life. For most people, its a once in a lifetime trip,as most people cannot afford to go twice and you usualy go on a ride more than once anyways and record it only once

    1. Milkon

      Watch it on utube

    2. Eddie

There’s thousands of every ride on YouTube. Your not going to film some unique perspective.

  13. Steve

    That is provably false.

Also, you have no expectation of privacy in a friggin theme park. Grow up.

  14. Milkon

Good. So sick of seeing UTubers posting the same content of the same wdw rides and attractions so they can make money off of views. Ya we get it already and have all been there, we know what happens on the rides.. get more creative with your channels people and make original content not the same old same old.. it’s played out.

  15. Bradley Monroe

Most of these YouTubers are welcomed to vlog in the park except the shows and most likely only the intense rides if they don’t want cameras flying off. If the vloggers end up getting banned from filming at Disneyland and Disney World then the people who cannot afford to go won’t be able to see any new Disney vlogs and livestreams of the new additions to the parks. Also vloggers are not allowed to vlog backstage. The end of Disney vloggers I think should not happen otherwise I won’t able to hear any vlogs from Adamthewoo and the other Disney vloggers for example. I just can’t see the point in banning Disney vloggers and livestreamers ever nor anytime soon.

  16. Paully

    About time..
Volgers are actually grifting Disneyland and the other guests ..

  17. Keri

Disney doesn’t need free advertising, or even more advertising. The park us over-the-top crowded, overly expensive compared to when I was there, and too many changes to be family friendly. 18. Mark

Could be an upcoming Cash grab by Disney, requiring vloggwrs to pay a premium for the privilege.

I don’t like having to use lockers at Universal. For decades, Disney has trusted guests to take care of their belongings on rides. Now it’s a problem because of a minority of morons who use cell phones or non-GoPros on coasters? The answer is always to be punitive to the masses because of the actions of a few. Ban videos on coasters, but all rides and shows? Let’s not sink to the low brow rules of lesser theme parks. Many guests will ALWAYS want to have personal memories of trips, so broader bans will not sit well, especially given the current high levels of guest complaints in general against ever rising costs and lower satisfaction overall. I don’t know how Disney will deal with vloggers. If they weren’t of some use to Disney, they wouldn’t be getting free park entries, free stays, free trips, invitations to media events, etc. Careful considerations must be taken in deciding what’s best for everyone all around.

I would like to have phones and cameras banned completely in the parks. Back to the good old days.

  21. Teddy Gingerich

I’m good with banning filming on rides. Phones or cameras on thrill rides are a danger, and we all know how annoying it is when someone has their ipad or phone out on dark rides.
I’m not a huge fan of vloggers clogging up the walkways or inconveniencing other guests while filming their often vapid posts. But there’s at least one person whose content I genuinely enjoy, and he ensures that when he does film in the park it doesn’t pose a problem for other guests. So for right now, let them film unless they’re breaking rules or bothering other guests.
