One of the other Disney blogs (I think it was Disney Fanatic) actually laid out the entire time line and what will happen because of Reedy Creek and places like it.

Just more political BS, too bad disney got sucked into this by people that only see things their way and try pushing their agendas through their work place or upper management that has the power to put it in kid movies, ruins it for everyone

It should be reversed. The big problem with dissolving the Reedy Creek Act is the bond debt that Disney/Reedy Creek currently has. Should the Reedy Creek Act end, the bond debt would be passed on to Florida taxpayers. Some of those taxpayers did not think that DeSantis had the right to saddle them with this debt, so they filed a lawsuit. The first lawsuit was dismissed, but the suit was quickly refiled, and that one has not been dismissed as quickly.

It was said at the start that taxpayers would not be stuck with the bill. But…OK….we have a lot of people who just like to make trouble down here.

Of course they said that–otherwise it wouldn’t have been supported. They were lying, of course, as that tax bill WILL have to be paid, and you can be damn sure that corporations won’t pay it, but pass it along. One way or another, taxpayers are getting shafted for this.

Leftist activists filed a lawsuit that was quickly tossed. Another was filed seeking a leftist activist judge.

Why do you think it is a good idea for a corporation to control the government? Is that connected to your belief in the federal government removing the right for labor to strike?

    The free state of Florida.
The freedom to persecute anyone with a difference of opinion.

    1. Steve

Wow how persecuted, having their special privileges over their competition removed, after they openly declared war on an elected official.

It is time you lefty scum stop with the double standards before we just stop caring and actually persecute you like you deserve.

Desantis can drop dead. it is all about him getting into higher office at the expense of Florida residents and Disney Fans. Impeachment would be nice about now.

Did you actually base the law that Disney was talking about? A whopping 5 pages and in NO PLACE does it say you can say or discuss “gay”. All it says is that a teacher or school cannot teach ANY KIND of sexual material…GAY OR STRAIGHT….to kids 8 or under. It DOES NOT say a kid with gay parents cannot talk about their family in school, and it DOES NOT prevent kids of any age from asking questions at school if THEY bring it up. It just says teachers and schools can’t bring it up if the kids are 8 or under.

But by all means….talk about it before you read it.

So…a law to stop something that wasn’t happening? Sounds about right. Nothing Fox News loves more than to create a problem where there isn’t one to get the righties all fired up. Remember the ‘students using litter boxes in classrooms!!!’ silliness from a month or two ago? Never happened, but a whole bunch of GOP lawmakers sure wanted to make people think it did…

You are clueless and delusional. He just won with 60% of the vote, how are you going to “impeach” him?

Leave the Reedy Creek alone and reverse the ‘law’ to dismantle it, so long as there are safety nets put in to keep Disney out of politics as just one example. If anyone at Disney breaks those points, it will make the agreement null and void. JMO

    1. Steve

No, remove it. It was a special favor from a bygone era. Disney cannot be allowed to continue profiting off of such special treatment.
