Disney decided several years ago to get out of the mobility issue. I think the cast member was repeating what Disney policies demonstrate–they think if you can transfer from a wheelchair to a seat 6 inches away–you can walk and stand for hours. It’s totally ridiculous and not at all medically true. They have actually told people with mobility issues that the only remedy is to rent a wheelchair or scooter–but they don’t have enough available for everyone who needs one. Then you can see a person rents one and gets told this by an employee. There’s an inconsistency in how mobility issues are handled. I wish they would get it straight–but I don’t see them even trying to help the disabled at this point. I’m sorry–but saying that some abuse the system is not an excuse to treat those actually disabled badly.

Absolutely out of line and character for the CM to say that. In the Eisner era and prior to, the CM’s role would be cut.
