A lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part.
    Good for her.

I wouldn’t have moved either. If the family wanted to sit together, they should have planned ahead!

The rest of the family can swap their 1st class seats for coach if they want to sit together. The one expecting someone to give up their own 1st class seat so the family can all have better seats is the one being elitist!

I would not move, they should have reserved all seats together

    That family is entitled.

    OK Karen.

Leave the Gal alone, she booked in advance and clearly picked her seat. Other should have done the same and there would have been no problem. You Snooze you Loose.

What were the cabin staff doing, this is a situation they may have been able to assist with?

These seats are not cheap so she wants what she paid for, no problem.

I don’t know of ANYONE who would give up an expensive 1st class seat to switch with someone who paid for an economy class seat. If someone says that they would switch, that person needs to have their head examined by a professional psychologist

They were all in first class, the third person wanted to sit across the aisle from their family members. It was her prerogative not to change seats, but she never says why other than she “planned ahead” and “paid for” and made her seat choice (quite possibly a free upgrade if she’s a frequent flyer). Maybe she prefers an aisle over a window seat, in first class the seat width and recline are the same, aisle or window (Delta Airlines BTW). There’s another blog that goes into more detail on the situation and if it’s accurate, this woman just didn’t want to change seats. Happens every day. End of story except she felt the need to post 3 video’s about it, which made it a story. This woman needs to get a life, her 5 minutes of internet fame is over.

She has every right not to move but I wonder why she didn’t. I probably would have just done it to help the family.

Good for her for not switching.
As others have stated, she planned and bought her ticket. Why should she move to a lesser priced, and less comfortable seat? Was she going to be compensated for the swap? Probably not.
I also agree with those who said the family could have swapped with someone in coach. Why didn’t the family go there? If I’m traveling coach and someone offered me a swap for 1st class…well, that’s a no brainer.
I hope the lady was able to enjoy her flight in her choice seat. She not the problem.

She has every right NOT to move from the seat she bought and paid for and specifically chose to buy. The family can certainly deal with one of them sitting close by (first class isn’t all that big). Lack of planning on their part does not constitute an emergency on hers. Talk about entitled. They could have picked a flight where they could reserve seats together.

If it were to switch to another seat in 1st class, I wouldn’t have a problem. To switch to a lesser seat? Hell NO!!! My husband is disabled and needs the extra leg room, so we pick our seats very carefully way ahead of time and let it be known to the airline.

I’d have asked if the move would have been the same seat – Window or Aisle. I’ve often moved for others within the same cabin fare. I would never, EVER give up my first class seat to move back. But that doesn’t seem to be the case here. But whatever her reasons, she picked and paid for her seat. She has the right to say no.

In her place I might have offered to sell the seat for the full price I paid for it. Seats like hers will cost 4 figures sometimes, and I would have welcomed the extra vacation money.

If it is on TikTok is is a fabrication for views and an attempt to monetize their fiction.
