This article is a joke. Wokeness is most definitely a huge reason why Disney is in trouble. The new movie Strange World is hardly earning any money on a holiday weekend. There’s another good example of go woke go broke.

    1. Ron P

that made me laugh, that is 100% Disney’s problem, Git rid of Story Group, Git ride of the cultural, inclusion and equity comity, Stop listing to the 3% of twitter, Bring family back, e.c.t

      1. James

Lol, maybe finish high school and learn to write in English first Cletus. Then maybe you can tell Disney “what to do”.

        1. Steve

We know you didn’t finish high school because you kept failing biology.

    2. Karen Baker

I totally agree. I am not spending my money at Disney or on Disney movies no matter how much I love Mickey. Disney has let a very few people dictate instead of the majority who want clean family entertainment like Disney used to be. I am over the woke agendas. Go woke, go broke.

    3. Jayne1955

I have no idea what you mean by woke. You’re not being forced to accept anything you don’t want to. If you don’t like something just skip it as we’ve always done.

      1. Marie

It’s getting harder to “skip” things, unless you do what we did and our family not renew the annual resident passes for the 3rd year in a row. Annual passes that we have all had since DW had annual resident passes.

      2. Steve

Sounds like people did that. This movie flopped big time.

  2. I love Disney

Wokeness is not Disney’s problem. The bleeding wound called Disney+ is.

    1. Steve

Why so you think Disney+ is failing?

  3. Steve

    You’re delusional.

  4. Dave 62

Well it is Disney’s problem, they started it with ALL the gay pride merchandise. Very hard too find straight guy merchandise

    1. Jayne1955

Gay Pride day is one day a year. If you don’t approve don’t go that day and don’t buy the merchandise. See how simple that is?

      1. Steve

You mean 3 months. Because that is low long the gay garbage was pushed.

        1. Dumptard

The only garbage here was your mom for not pulling you out with a wire hanger and leaving you in the Stripper bar bathroom stall when she had the chance… STEVE

          1. Steve

Just about what I expect from a typical subhuman leftist.

          2. Bob

            And you
Just proved you lost the intellectual argument.

  5. Gary

Yes it is with Chapek’s OK and it MUST be removed for ever and never return which means all the Woke Castmembers who were active must be fired!

  6. Nick

This article is “woke!” Seriously? How stupid does this author think people are? Sure, there are countless things that contributed to Disney’s fall from grace, but the “woke agenda” is high atop the heap. They have neglected the majority of their loyal fans just to satisfy a very vocal minority. It isn’t easy to make everyone happy, but in their business, sticking to what’s worked for decades would have been the better choice. Iger has a lot of work to do if he wants to reverse the damage. If he allows the increasingly obvious “woke parade” to continue, bringing him back won’t move the needle much at all.

    1. Karen Baker

      Absolutely!!

    2. Jayne1955

Since no one is forcing you to buy anything you don’t want to or look at anything you don’t want to, I don’t see what your problem is.

      1. Marie

Sounds like you may be part of the problem!

      2. Steve

The problem is we want our culture to stop being corrupted by freaks like you.

      3. Bob

In a sense you are right. Disney is trying to shove an unwanted agenda at their primary consumer base, and they are rejecting it. Which is why this movie bombed.

When you try to appease the absolute fringe minority and Theo values which contradict the main consumer base and their traditional family values, you will lose money.

But that’s not what you are Disney wants to admit.

So by all means, let’s keep pushing an unwanted agenda until Disney goes broke.

    3. Anonymous

Yeah. He started this mess before his first retirement, and this make the company go from bad to worse, much than you realize. What he’s doing may not attract any audiences or visitors, but would make them never come back. He might be removed sooner than one might think, if all still goes wrong, just like Chapek.

Wokeness, may not be the biggest issue, it is an issue though. I agree that the biggest issue is the idea of losing touch with the core community of the Disney community. My family has been coming here for thirty plus years and live about 3000 miles away. I use to be a contractor to Disney from another company, and my kids got use to coming here and playing while I worked. I like the Disney people; I even like the values Disney use to show and deliver on. I don’t care about wokeness, I to have bias and prejudice against me, and its something I cannot change. I’m 6;5: and rides don’t fit me, our timeshares don’t fit me (furniture is to small, short, and they are impossible to get out of gracefully. I have other discriminations against me I have learned to adapt (not change) so I fit in with the masses. I have not gotten to do all I want to do, and sometimes its not anything that I have done. My family loves Disney and I will do most anything for my family, yes even endure Disney. I’m so frustrated with people saying oh woah is me, I don’t fit in? There is no one size fits all. We all can’t get a trophy; we all have to adapt to the world. We get bruised and bumped so what get up and keep going forward. Yes, I did the military (70’s to 80’s) they too can make your life hard and then you will grow up. I don’t wish to sound like a lecturer so I will end. Life is good, live it , forget about the pain its only transitory

  8. Jean

The problem is intitled guests who think their trip is more important then anyone elses and everyone should cater to them

  9. Kay

It most certainly is a combination of wokeness and Disney losing touch with its audience through raising prices and taking perks away. But wokeness definitely is a large part of it.

The only raging queens on this website talking about Disney being “woke” as the main problem, are all the Donald Dumptard MAGATS that have never stepped foot inside a Disney park. It’s easy to screech and wail about how “woke” Disney is when you literally have no job and live on your EZ CHAIR 24/7. The parks continue to be packed, and those who recognize the real problem know it’s the way the parks are managing crowds, prices, and ride maintenance.
Not some “rainbow” coffee mug that’s out to destroy your “precious white Christian family”.
You Dumptards lose more brain cells by the second.

    1. Jayne1955

      THANK YOU!

    2. Holly R

I hope he runs again so that we control all aspects of the government T****p 2024! Heck run again in 2028 and 2032 while you are at it, we need to stop climate change and create a beautiful world

    3. Steve

Yawn. If you had to have an income to vote, dims wouldn’t be able to get more than 5%.

    4. Jose

      Who is the hater now?

      1. LOL

Hating because someone’s speaking facts instead of just raging out because they spotted a rainbow mug in the park?? LOL, your mom should have aborted your a$$ when she had the chance, troII

        1. Steve

          Go get a job.

    5. Jose

Try to keep your comments civilized. Uneducated Neanderthal.

  11. Jayne1955

I don’t even know what people mean by woke. Unless it’s acknowledging certain kinds of people exist. No one’s forcing anyone to do anything they don’t want to.

    1. Steve

People aren’t going to accept a lie just because you post it 20 times per article.

      1. Derrrp!

LOL, says the lonely little Dumptard who literally wakes every morning for the sole purpose of RUNNING to get on this website to spread your h@te. Your EZ chair awaits, King Dumptard!

        1. Steve

How many fake names do you post under?

  12. Steve

    Cry some more.

  13. Unbelievable

Because some people literally CANT EXIST if they’re not on here wailing about something that they don’t agree on. They never grew past the 2nd grade when we learn to live with each other, even if we’re not all the same. So these immature children will continue until they wither away.

    1. Steve

Here you are, doing exactly what you accuse others of doing, but you don’t even have a reason.

  14. Bob

Not due to wokeness? Laughs in the failure of Lightyear, Turning Red, and this latest movie.

  15. Jose

It’s clear this website is blocking and editing posts that disagree with the author. Its the CCP of Disney sites. If you feel the need to manipulate the posts. Then you are in the wrong side of the issue.

I had 3 posts that did not appear. How many others are you hiding?

    1. Steve

They just have an idiotic word filter. Your post will not go through if it contains the words d.u.m.b, r.a.c.i.s.t or t.r.u.m.p. That includes words like Dum.bledore.

  16. Bill G

Like others, I also disagree with the main premise of this article. Of course there are many reasons Disney has been failing, including the price hikes, Disney+’s poor performance, etc. However, in my opinion, the number one reason has been Disney’s “wokeness”.

I used to go to the parks for 12-14 days every December, but I stopped a few years ago, and I will NOT be back. Of course, I don’t like the price hikes, but they would not keep me away. I stopped going strictly due to Disney’s leftist “woke” agenda. I could probably name forty “woke” changes that anger me, but some of the most obvious and enraging are the removal of animatronics from Pirates of the Caribbean, the upcoming re-theming of Splash Mountain and the removal of “gendered greetings” from shows.

I know of four other families that used to travel to Disney yearly from New England, that no longer do. The main reason for all four families is they refuse to support this or any other company’s extreme leftist agenda.
