Chapek was fired without cause. Claiming losses to Disney Channel is an accounting trick, but hardly a firing offense. This is so hilarious if not sad.

    1. Steve

They just told you the cause. He fudged the Numbers.

      1. PPP

That’s not the official reason. He was fired without cause on SEC documents.

        1. Tom

Are you really Bob Chapek posing as PPP

      2. Steve

This is a made up story.

    2. Kristen

I am sure it was more than one “fudge”. In addition to this, all prices were raised multiple times while guest experiences like magical express and extra magic hours were eliminated. Story telling took a back seat to profits which goes against what Disney is about.

Chapek is like former Disney mistake as a boss – Rich Ross. He was great in tv but stunk at the studio. Chapek was great in parks, but tried to be a petty dictator at the studio.

    1. Once he moved out of parks, he let them go to hell.

    2. Marie

Great in the parks? Really? Prices skyrocketing, nickle and diming people, unfriendly staff, cleanliness gone downhill, reservations to get into a park….yeah….sure….he did a wonderful job with the parks.

  3. Walt

Iger return Disney to its former glory – that is laughable – he may have made money but he turned the company into a cesspool. Iger is one of the most woke pukes to walk the planet

    1. Kristen

First, look up the definition of “woke” using it as a derogatory term isn’t the flex you think it is. Second, way to showcase your himophobia and bigotry in one short post. And third, and most important never, like EVER, should you visit any Disney park or attraction. You are the type who ruins the experience for everyone else. Stay home or go spend your money at a rally. I am sure you get my drift.

      1. Tj

        Well said….

      2. Ladia3

        I agree

      3. Jarvis

No Kristen, you don’t get to poison something and then then say leave. You should take your woke mental illness and leave. At least Twitter is trying to bring common sense back to a dying company. Let’s see if Disney can.

      4. S

It is un-American to be woke. Woke means brainwashed by lies: It’s you who shouldn’t be allowed into any Disney park and when I take control of Disney in a hostile takeover, not only will there be a no-hire policy against anyone woke, but woke people won’t be allowed to enter the parks. Only Disney purists who believe in “what would Walt do?” will be.

      5. Steve

You talk a lot. Your type is literally the type that has ruined Disney. It was great before you freaks appeared.

I have been a fervent fan of the mouse since age 15; actually, I fell in love with him but please don’t tell Minnie. I am now 65. I had the experience of walking into a park one day which smelled of dog urine and stood in disbelief. I have the upmost respect for the word Disney. For me it’s equivalent to excellence in every possible way. This was post Covid. Though not aware of the inner workings that brought about the decision for him to part with Disney, I am aware that a leader is only as good as his team. He was sadly failed that day and the people working under his command gave no thought of who they were working for. I wish him luck. He brought about a lot of wonderful new experiences for the families who visit there. I pray God places a mantle of protection above him and guide him to a more supportive team in whatever venture he is led to.

    1. Kristen

I don’t understand the part about urine?

      1. Bev C

I think it’s the fertilizer they use on plants that creates that urine smell. I’ve noticed it at some of the resorts at certain times of the year. Most fertilizers contain nitrogen and it’s sometimes created from organic and nonorganic sources that contain urine or ammonia.

He totally messed up Disney it needs to go back they way it was in the 90’s that’s when it was magical

    1. Ladia3

I agree. He made it so regular people can’t go and take their family’s.

  6. Ladia3

I miss all the amenities that he took away especially the meal plan and I hope that they bring the meal plan back. Get rid of Genie+ and the reservation system the last time I stayed at Disney. It was so expensive. It was hard to enjoy ourselves it’s ridiculous. It’s not magical anymore.

  7. Steve

Iger created Chepak. Much of what Chepak is getting the blame for started under Iger.iger is going to put lipstick on a pig, but it is going to still be the the same overpriced, understaffed, poorly maintained mess it is now.

    1. Linda M Gonzalez

You are totally right. That’s why, we as Florian’s, are enjoy what else our state has to offer. We refuse to be a part of Disney

      1. Linda M Gonzalez

        Floridians enjoying

  8. Linda Marie Gonzalez

Chapek was fired because of his disastrous reservation system and his getting rid of Fast Pass. This created hot, angry people in overcrowded parks. Chapek did away with the handicap procedure for ride admittance that Walt had in place for decades. Handicapped people, especially mentally handicapped people cannot enjoy Disney anymore.Chapek destroyed the annual pass we purchased for at least 20 years . He has “specials” for rich people to skip the lines. I’m rich but until Disney puts their former policies back in place, we will not go to a theme park that discriminates against the disabled and people who cannot afford Chapek’s prices!

After reading this article, makes me wonder how much “fudging” of the numbers are actually an attempt to embezzle money from Disney

  10. Jamie Coughlin

Iger is the one responsible for the mess Disney is in overall. The CFO claiming fudged numbers is laughable since SHE would have been the one in on the fudging. So she is saying she is also incompetent? Well she probably is but they admit Chapek was fired without cause. What happened is he was going to start firing all the wokey wokes and they freaked out and got rid of him first. So bring back the person who started all the problems in the first place. Well they deserve each other that is for sure.

  11. DISfan

I believe that Chapek was fired because of his plans to enact a committee providing oversight of job cuts was finally the ‘bridge too far’. He began his tenure as CEO by removing organic control of the various creative business units with oversight (essentially) in his lane. The unnecessary firing of Peter Rice was an example of a really poor executive decision that presented itself as petty and dictatorial. Disney, as a company, protects its brand image by allowing aspirational and positive storytelling to be an engine for bringing people together. It’s tough to reconcile that with leadership that loses sight of that core value, which in turn negatively affects the health (success) of the business.

    1. Steve

Firing Rice was the right move. Not firing all the rest of the wokesters as soon as possible was what did Chapek in. He had no one on his side after he bent the knee.

  12. DISfan

    Ah, “wokesters”. Good business acumen!
