I’m still waiting for ANY of these bloggers to point out paying for the Genie is a waste of time and money. Look at every line before the peak times of Genie lines kick in. They all move 20-30 minutes faster. No constant 5 minute waiting to move in the standby que. Lines may be a little longer, but they would constantly move with the ride’s load and go timing. A constant moving ride would have constantly moving line. Takes a minute to load and go? That’s the wait in line, not 10 minutes to load half and half.
Absolutely agree. Fastpass+ was far superior and I would pay for it. Should be free if stating in a Disney hotel though. I don’t want to be on my phone all vacation.
I agree. There was nothing wrong with fast pass imo. And with the prices Disney charges for tickets & food, the fast pass should be free, at least for those staying at a Disney hotel. The idea of a vacation is to disconnect from your phone, computer, tablet, etc. How can you truly enjoy a vacation if you’re stuck on your phone the entire time planning it out as you go? You can’t. Genie+ must go!!

Literally millions of people get it figured out. It’s not hard. I’ve been to DisneyWorld twice since it’s implication and you really have to not understand how a phone works to not figure it out. Grow up.
Genie/Genie+/Lightning Lane/Individual Lightning Lane is a horrible concept. A surcharge for express lanes is here to stay, but Disney should either bring back the advance reservations system for attractions like they had with Fast Pass+ or go to the express lane concept Universal employs. The current system is confusing and as stated requires too much time navigating your phone instead of navigating the park.
We just came back from WDW from our trip 10/28/22-11/3/22. Now the normal Genie+ & DAS pass works you CANNOT pick ;out/choose rides until you get into the parks.
The other problem that happens is once you pick a ride. Once you get ready to go to it,if it “break downs”/”malfunctions”. You waited for nothing. I do have too tell you this system along with the pre- registration for parks. Is NOT going away any time soon!
Buy an Express Pass. Go to any ride/attraction you want. Get in the Express line instead of the standby line. Or get in the single rider line. No planning needed.

What do I think about “Genie+” & “Lightning Lane” services??
They are the VERY REASON that this LOOOOOOONNNNNNNGGG time annual passholder is a FORMER annual passholder…
Get rid of them,. bring back the fast pass and I MIGHT come back (after all the rides are fixed as well!!)
