It was 10:30 a.m. and the only place they sell alcohol in Magic Kingdom is in the table service restaurants. Don’t blame alcohol. Blame the type of guests Disney is now attracting.
You are right Walt back in 1958 said that he did not want alcohol in his park (Disneyland) and I am sure it would have carried over to the other parks. If you want check out this article “Walt Disney Talks early Disneyland by Jim Korkis” these are his own words! It could be drugs too who knows but it did not used to happen much in the past!
Disney has created a highly stressful environment. First, the parks are overly crowded and overly expensive. Disney consciously decided not to expand theme parks in Florida decades ago. They went international instead. Secondly, they have also created too many hurdles such as reservation system, Disney app, lightening lane and charging for services that should be free. Thirdly, newer attractions are not designed for massive crowds, hence the lines backup. If your standing in line at Disney, you are losing money. Why? It’s too expensive….., people get stressed and loose patience with each other.
I was at disney 2 weeks ago. Place was crazy expensive. 22oz drink $5.00. Why? Its 93 degrees. A drink cup is $ 23.00 dollars. Meals are no less that $20.00 AND that’s a hot dog meal. Why. ?. I felll getting off the boat . Not one person ( employee)came to help me. Just said watch your step. . Louder. 2 bad every one pushed me so hard that I fell. .2 wonderful people helped. Family was pushed away from me. Crazy…..VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED. NEVER GO BACK AGAIN. Universal studios so much better all the way around. Still expensive. But so much more fun
Any pics or videos I ever saw with people fighting at Disney were black participants Just going by past experiences Would you feel better if they were Amish?
This is happening way too often now. I think Disney should let it be known that any brawls that happen inside the parks is an automatic ban from all parks for all parties involved.
Maybe it’s just me but I’ve never heard of fights at Disney until a couple years ago & now it seems like it’s between weekly & monthly. Nobody has patience anymore & there’s no equal ground on anything after all the political hate. Plus, seems like most that fight in Disney never get a ban anymore. That’s ridiculous
Disney has gone into the trash you can see it when you go to the parks people are rude and don’t care they will
Walk right into you and act like it’s your fault I seen people throw trash over the bridge into the water at Epcot this is a new low class for people that r goi g to the parks today. The women dress like hookers on a street corner and the dear old ceo cares less as long as he is getting his millions in his pay check.
I’m curious if anyone involved smokes. My husband is a smoker and when he can’t have a cigarette he gets grumpy. Like when people need to eat something they sometimes get grumpy. But now there is nowhere in the park to smoke. Disney should put in smoking sections again and see if that helps.
My son and I are the “other guests” that restrained the two fighting. First of all, it was not two “men”, it was one very large grown man plowing through a minor who couldn’t have been more than 16/17 years old. Even when the young man fell to the ground, the older, much larger man ripped his poncho off, like a beast, and continued to attack the boy. (It was later determined to be a familial issue that clearly went way too far.) The young man was hurt. We kept them separated until security arrived. While I have no clue if alcohol was involved (or race, as is my suspicion), I can say that out of the hundreds of people standing around watching, only a 25 year old man and his 50 year old mother jumped in to help. I am so very thankful that we were there to help him.
It’s insane that he’s going to lay off workers when the parks are already so understaffed. There’s only so much you can cut back on customer service and crowd control without asking for trouble.
Hi Lia. I also got there as fast as I could and stood between them in case they kicked off again. I was shocked at how long it took the security team to arrive. Had the larger gentleman decided to go again it would have been tough to stop him. I was also disappointed at the cast members lack of training on de escalation techniques. One of them was actively making it worse and I advised him he was better off spending his time getting the security team there faster (I’m a retired police officer)
The cutbacks are there own presumption that if a number isnt reach well why not cut what is needed so that number can become a reality. Today’s world is to entitle and honestly like I said in the past a serious epidemic is needed cause mankind is a threat to itself and mother nature now has to come and start takibg care of business right higher power….such a shame on root of all evil which is greed
Abdolutly amazes me that folks spend thousands of dollars to go to Disney just to be unable to control their emotions get into altercations and then be thrown out of the place. Unreal…
I was there and one of the guests who broke it up. No alcohol involved. What was more shocking was how long it took for the security team to show up. In excess of ten minutes.

Maybe they should require an IQ test to enter…
…the common factor isn’t alcohol, it’s being a low-class moron.

A 4 day trip in 2022 costs about $1000 more than the same trip in 2018. Prices are still going up so the cost is rising.

People need to quit acting like self entitled jerks. Manners need to come back into style.

Lia,
I know we pulled you and your sons aside, exchanged hugs and said thank you at that time, but from the bottom of our hearts, we thank you guys again.

The Disneyland Toontown brawl is probably the all time greatest brawl of them all.
