Not ONE BOARD MEMBER, EVER, spoke out about the continuous raising of ALL PARK RELATED EXPENSES for guests!!!
McCarthy actually said to make the portions smaller, because of “waistlines”. She’s NO innocent bystander of the Chapek TRAINWRECK
JOSH, is in charge of PARKS, look at the sad state of the parks. Another quiet voice on the CHAPEK TRAINWRECK!!!
Those two are just as GUILTY as CHAPEK.
I’m a California native. Grew up going to Disneyland at least once a year. That stopped about 5 or so years ago when they started hiking the prices on an annual basis.
My solution? Starve the company. Don’t go. Unfortunately, it seems not many share that opinion, which is sad. The overlords of the cult of Disney bet that their followers will gladly and blindly give up their life savings just to enter the park. So far, they havent been wrong.
It wouldn’t be so bad if Fast Pass was still around. But when you spend your whole day waiting for six rides, there is ZERO point to the costs. Making it only profitable if you are local and have an AP.
Exactly. When we are only coming once a year for 5 days, and spending 15K total to do it, I don’t want to wait in the long lines. We will buy Genie + and LL, but I’m not happy about it. It would be different if we were Magic Keys and could go all the time. I wouldn’t mind the lines then.
I’ve wiped my wallet from going or paying another dollar to Disney the last 3 years when prices started to rise.
Prices go back to 5 years i may think about it.
Also the issues with rides going down , with old being transformed an new being installed is a mess.
Stop work on the tear down an build up till.the rides all together are fixed an running without constant issues. Then work.on the refurbished or new rides before tearing any more apart.
To many things going on an the fans aren’t getting decent rides for the high cost.
Hire me to sort that out if need be.
The thing about going to Disney World is you were transported to a magical place. A place that put a smile on ypur face. A place that before you even got to the gate you were excited before you even walked in. The outside world was just that. You forgot that existed. That’s why people stayed on property and didnt even think about going to universal or sea world. Now with the reservation system and having to be on the phone the whole time for genie pass, that is not a vacation. The magic has disappeared. Add frequent ride breakdowns and fights breaking out amongst customers and that needs to be addressed quickly. There should be zero tolerance for bad behavior. When there are fights breaking out and posted online I have to wonder if my family will ne safe. I was a former premium annual passholder for 10 years and stopped going to Disney. It is so sad what has happened. The one thing I miss the most was the osborne lights. Can’t a place be found for that somewhere??? Why not a place at downtown Disney?
I’m ready to give my annual pass holder up after 20 years.. going up too much especially since I’m a Florida resident.. no fast passes.. some kind of paying for that now NO.. we used to go 6 plus times a year but sick of price going up.. SAD!!
It’s a total shame that money is more important than the paying guests! I get that Covid did change things. I am so glad I had the opportunity to go back to Disney the November before the world closed down. I was able to enjoy Star Wars land after it’s opening. I enjoyed staying at one of your resorts, had the food plan, loved the Fast Passes although we were able to bypass them as we had a special needs child in our group.
The point here being though is that you are pricing yourselves out of the average families budget. The idea of having to pay for every little thing is ridiculous! Bring back fast passes and the opportunity to be able to enjoy the park with our families.
Where is Walt Disney’s niece? She always advocated for Disney to be affordable and fair to the disabled. Maybe she passed away? This guy created Chapek. All those horrible policies came from Iger. There are so many other cheaper fun things to do in Florida than waste our time in Disney’s expensive hot overcrowded parks!
The magic is gone. All the little extras that the executives don’t think are necessary- like the free magic bands and the Disney Express – are part of the magic. I remember being really excited when I ordered the vacation planning DVD and maps. That was the kickoff to our vacation countdown. Then came the magic bands and hotel luggage tags. Then 60 or 90 days out, we could reserve our fast passes. Those were all build ups to the excitement. And don’t even get me started on how stressful and complicated it’s become now. Hate to say it, but I prefer Universal now. It’s a lot less stressful to go there. PS – please keep politics and political views out of the parks. I don’t go there to be reminded of politics…
True statements about the magic being gone. They have shown annual pass holders are a burden because we go to the park too much and we cause the lines. I canceled my pass and so did my daughter’s family. Can’t afford it. We have decided to boycott.
We gave ours up due to the pandemic and having a special needs family. Now even as DVC members since 05’ they will not offer us one. We have to stay 7-10 days but with pass system it’s useless last time we lost 2 days because the girls were not feeling well to go to the park. The concierge gave me 2 comp days but made it sound like I was terrible for asking.
We are going this year 2 times if they bring back the passes otherwise we will cancel the 2 nd trip and sell DVC
Gave up my passes March 14, 2020 when you kicked out the APs and made us feel unwelcome. What did you think would happen when you alienated so many people?
Bring back fast pass, do away with reservations and the stupid wagon rule. Make it safe to go again.
Thanks for cleaning the Mouse House. Hope you can bring back the magic…

We gave up our AP 3 years ago due to rising costs, and all the stupid changes since Covid. Loss of parades, having to make reservations , no fast passes and gave us genie + ugh it sucks, they lost the magic. Now they have Kathleen Kennedy and others bring in politics and shoving gay relationships down our throats in every single movie or show Disney makes. We as a family have boycotted most things Disney, and for our family it is extremely sad. We have been Disney lovers for over 50 years. Sad we would rather go to Universal to immerse ourselves in fun and leave the world behind. Disney was that place for us. We miss it all the time, but until they change we won’t be going.
We are gong to Orlando for the month of January 2023. For the first time we will NOT be going to Disney World. We just can’t afford it any more. Breaks my heart but that’s the way it is. Went the first year it opened and many times after. Spent our 50th anniversary there. Our 2 daughters had a wonderful party for us at the military hotel for 98 friends and family. We treated our family to a day in the park. We live in Arizona and usually go to Orlando every other year and Disney but no more.

Yes! I agree. McCarthy should be released for that comment. Rude

Chapek was always going to be the scapegoat, though he was hardly making all of these unpopular decisions in a vacuum.

GAVE UP AP WHEN PRICES STARTED UP. EVEN FOOD HAS BECOME RIDICULOUSLY HIGH. NOT PLANNING ON WAITING IN LONG LINES FOR AN HOUR FOR A FIVE MINUTE RIDE.

TOTALLY AGREE. RISING PRICES FOR EVERYTHING AND EXTENDED WAIT TIMES ARE RIDICULOUS. TOO EXPENSIVE.

I was preparing to go for my first time, but now there’s no way I can afford even a one day ticket. Thanks for ruining the magic disney!
