If a customer purchases a ticket they should not have to make a reservation on top of that! It’s just absolutely ridiculous to all the people Disney is screwing over with this system. Like what’s the point in even advertising a day ticket if you can’t use it when you want? It’s different if they hit capacity (minus the reservation) and then you can’t get in but if I bought my ticket fair and square like everyone else I shouldn’t have to then reserve my spot in the park as well, that’s what the ticket it for.

Disneyland Anaheim has been *packed* with people each time we’ve gone the last several months. Last Wednesday evening, the line for Radiator Springs Racers was advertised as 60 minutes on the app. Midway through the line they changed it to 80 and then 100. We ended up spending nearly 150 minutes in line (2.5 hours!) and kids across the line were falling asleep and going stir crazy. This is **with** a reservation system in place. Prepandemic it was much much worse. I don’t like the reservation system but due to the sheer number of people still at the park on what would be considered a light weekday night, I support it. This was the worst experience I’ve had there recently.

A reservation system should be the norm. You should plan when you visit a theme park, it has been the same issue on Halloween in Parc Astérix, Parc Spirou and Europa Park.

It’s either that or not a guaranteed access to a Park, which is currently what’s happening

So many people complain about the reservation system, but I think it is a good idea. Before the pandemic, capacity was when it literally became illegal to allow anymore people into the park. So all of these people that planned this vacation, sometimes for years, and have paid for it and arrived are turned away. At least the reservation system gives you a chance to make sure that you will be able to get in the park. If it is not a possibility you can arrange for another time that fits your schedule in advance. Once you’re there, you can’t arrange to come back another time. Plus the capacity has always been way too high. Like I said, it’s not really an option because they legally can’t permit any further attendance. But there is a point where it is so crowded that it is impossible to have a good time. If you have to wait 3 hours for a ride, hours for food, and an extended amount of time for the bathroom you really can’t do much. It’s like 3 rides and a meal if you’re there from open to close. Why would anyone pay for that? Even if you use Genie+, you can only book one ride at a time, and the reservations are gone as soon as the gates open on these days. Then you’re pressured to pay a ridiculous amount of money to ride one ride with LL. Even if you want to use it, the reservations are gone before the gates even open. Then you are just stuck in this situation.

This isn’t news. Every time I’ve visited since the start of the pandemic I’ve seen this sign at the entrance to the park. The story makes it out like it was a crazy one off.
